Carpe Diem Art Gallery, Learning Centre and Cafe

Carpe Diem is a beautiful, quirky little artsy corner tucked away right in the middle of the local hustle and bustle. The moment you step in, you’re greeted by an incredibly cozy and welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay a while. The art gallery itself is a highlight. They happened to be hosting an exhibit during my visit, which turned out to be an absolutely surreal experience. It’s clearly a space that celebrates creativity and talent in a very intimate, special way. I managed to pick up some really cute handmade frames, fridge magnets, and a few other unique trinkets from their shop. I didn’t get a chance to try the food at the cafe as I was already full from my meal, but the space looked lovely and the people there seemed to be having a wonderful time. Even if you aren't looking for a full meal, it is worth stopping by just to soak in the atmosphere and browse their collection. A few helpful FYIs: The Shopping: If you love handmade items or are looking for unique souvenirs that have a bit more soul than the usual market finds, this is the place. Their collection of frames and magnets is adorable. The artworks are absolutely mesmerizing. The Vibe: It’s a great spot for art lovers or anyone looking for a quiet, inspired break. It’s located in a stunning old ancestral house which adds so much to the character. Stop By: Its super close to the Betalbatim Beach and is the perfect place to drop in for some art and shopping and food. Activities: They also take workshops and classes that you can take.

If Carpe Diem was a country, I’d be eligible to apply for a passport by now. 🙈 But seriously, it’s a wonderful place whether you’re there for breakfast (carry jam if you must cuz they don’t stock any, also their waffles and pancakes are yum, and gigantic— an aside: don’t order them on a Friday morning if you’re of soft disposition because the inherently sad woman who teaches their painting classes will make a snarky comment about your plate), catchup with an old friend, an art workshop, or even buying art (they have some really lovely ceramic stuff especially). Love always being welcomed by their most wonderful doggos (last I counted there were 6, or is it 7? 🥰😍💓). They bring some amazing art workshops and spending 2-3 hours there in their garden cafe is an absolute no-brainer. If you’re REALLY nice, the neighbour might let your park in front of their wall too. Did I mention, I love Carpe Diem?

We love visiting Carpe Diem art gallery each year when we stay in the beautiful village of Majorda, southern Goa. The gallery exhibits a wide range of interesting art, the food in the cafe is wholesome and delicious and Nicole the administrator is friendly and professional. We have taken several classes with Meenu the Art Teacher and each one has been entirely enjoyable and relaxed. This is a great cafe, if you enjoy the vibe of Ancestral goan houses.. there are friendly dogs, a beautiful art gallery, open seating in a cozy backyard, and a very smiling and welcoming team of owners and staff.. But what really impressed me was their "Lemon Mint Cooler". Amazingly refreshing. ☺️

A beautiful creative oasis! I loved Carpe Diem , both the gallery and the café. The artwork is inspiring, the ambience is lush and calm, and the café serves generous portions (the English breakfast and waffles are a must!). They even have hand-painted tiles on every table, and finally… GOOD hot coffee in Goa! I also attended a week-long Raku firing ceramic workshop here, and the experience was divine,thoughtfully planned, executed with care, and worth every penny. The owner, Daegal, along with Soniya and Nicole, made the entire week warm, professional, and memorable. If you're creatively inclined, this place will fuel your inspiration. Must-visit for the café, and if you have time, sign up for a workshop . Its truly a gift to yourself.

We visited Carpe Diem mainly because someone in our group is an artist, and we wanted an art-gallery-plus-café kind of place for her. After some research, we found this spot in South Goa, and it turned out to be a surprisingly good experience. We originally planned for the evening but the café closes early, so we went the next morning for a short brunch. This is not a place you go to when you’re hungry. Food is secondary. It’s all about the experience. There are three to four rooms filled with artwork, and the last room has a small café and even a workshop area. Very calm, very unique. The best part is the crowd. This is exactly the place where you meet like-minded people…those who care about art, nuance, new experiences, and the slower side of life. Anyone who chooses to visit a spot like this in Goa is already a certain type, and if you resonate with that, you’ll find your kind of people here. Food is standard. Staff is professional, warm, and genuinely involved in the art side of the place. Pricing feels fair …this isn’t the kind of café where you debate cost. For me, beyond the art, the architecture of the house was the highlight. There’s even a small swimming pool inside the house, and it gives a hint of the Goan lifestyle..relaxed, leisure-focused, aesthetic. Loved the whole experience.

I really liked the vibe of Carpe Diem. It's an art gallery, art centre and cafe that has a warm feel that makes you feel comfortable and like home. They have cute doggos who are super friendly and fun to play with! We enjoyed the hot chocolate, pancakes and french toast at the cafe!
