The castle was brilliant to look around with easily accessible amazing panoramic views. The café had a very inviting rustic atmosphere with a fireplace, benches, tables and wonderful views from the windows. I ordered a Jacket Potato with Tuna Mayo and Cheese for lunch which comes with side salad, butter and plenty of topping. The tuna mayo was more tuna than mayo, making it not sloppy and still very tasty. Great flavoured cheese and plenty of it. I also ordered a Rhubarb Crumble Cake which has the option to be served hot with ice cream. Light and moist with added texture from the crumble topping, paired very well with smooth vanilla ice cream. I highly recommend it.

On a sunny late autumn day, the views from the castle were really beautiful. The castle itself is fun to explore and holds some surprising secrets to discover. There's a tea room and gift shop at the farm lower down the hill from which you purchase an admission ticket - well worth the small cost. From the shop there is a gentle walk up to the castle on paths that would be suitable for most reasonably fit people, but perhaps not everyone. It is worth sticking to the paths as care is needed around the castle as the natural landscape contains steep drops. An interesting and beautiful experience.

Short but steep walk. Amazing castle, strikes out against the sky as you are driving towards the carpark. It's the quintessential cliff top fortress you see in movies. One way in, one way out. Views are amazing even tho part way up the rain blew in and fog filled the valleys I think it made it all the more amazing and so glad I was there.

We visited the place on a foggy day and it had a spooky aura about it. The castle itself is really nice also has a secret passage to go down to the pitts. Overall would recommend it.

What a great find. I have never visited before and the place is great. The walk is a little hilly but once you are up there spectacular views. Whilst in the shop/cafe I overheard a lady saying that she had travelled all the way from Swansea just to have the rhubarb crumble cake, warmed with cream. So obviously after wandering around the castle we headed back to the cafe to try it. We also ordered the bara brith slice. The cakes are amazing, moist and so flavoursone. We will definitely be going back !!!!!

A very Interesting ruined castle, on top of a limestone bluff overlooking the cennen River. Great for clambering up and down, pathway up to the top is worthwhile, can be a bit muddy, but you go through a field of sheep. The castle is interesting and you can go down into the cave below. It is however a slippery wet cave, take a torch!! NOT A PHONE TORCH!!

I was lucky enough to see this beautiful castle and it's surrounding areas on a stunning summers day. After a short walk up a hill you come to a little hut where you can purchase a ticket to enter the castle which is £7. I did purchase a ticket and I wasn't disappointed, there's so much to see and lots of history displayed on plaques in and around the castle grounds. I sat out on the hillside with a brew and a sandwich alongside the sheep, looking out onto stunning views of the black mountains. There is nothing quite like the scenery here, it's quite breathtaking. There's so many great walks to do around the castle, I did the short river one but it was so peaceful and tranquil. The cafe just after the entrance here serves the most beautiful food and a range of hot and cold drinks. This really is one of those places in Wales that should be on your visit list 🏰❤️

Great walk up to a castle and amazing views. The cafe at the bottom is great and also has great views. Also looks like a great wedding venue.

These ruins aren't as fancy as other castles in the region, but they are much calmer and much less crowded, which makes it a perfect place for a picnic. Enjoy the silence, where you can hear only birds and sheep and cows on the hills around. If you are adventurous, bring a torch and go explore the natural caves under the castle - but be careful, it's really slippery down there!
