Quirky 2 star Hotel nice clean pool great views. Rooms are dated, but clean and there is a lovely breeze which keeps them cool. Cloudy tap water at start because they had just filled their tank, it improved later. Strong water pressure (could have fitted water saving shower heads!)
Easy 10 min walk to town and 15 min up. No food available. We cooked all our evening meals in our kitchen which worked fine, especially eating on the balcony looking at the sea. Buses easy to get from 200 yards down the hill or at the central bus station in Hillsborough.

I had a very relaxing stay at the Grand View.||It's located a little out of town, up on a hill. Hence that grand view. You'll need to arrange transport from the ferry dock but you can easily walk to and from town without your luggage.||The sweet lady proprietor was very friendly and welcoming. When I arrived there was a problem with water on my floor (there wasn't any) but this was fixed by the time I returned from town a couple of hours later.||My room was a little small and lacked furniture on which I could place my things, so I didn't unpack much. The air con did not have a remote, I had to operate it by pressing a button on the unit itself. No temperature control. View from my balcony was spectacular - looking out towards the mountains, partial sea view. I would have gone for a bigger room, possibly with kitchen. But once I'm settled, I can rarely be bothered to move again.||Breakfast was available (and good). But there was no lunch or dinner. Understandable as I seemed to be the only guest so it wasn't worth their while. Carriacou is very quiet.

Usually I don't write reviews but I think this one is necessary. The owners of the hotel was quite pleasant to my best friend and I and helpful with providing information. Sadly the room was very outdated and had a heavy feel. The shower was not clean and the sheets were stained. We stayed 3 nights and only had A/C for the last night. The room was hot and uncomfortable. They do not offer lunch and dinner but did have breakfast which was good. The pool and patio facilities was not clean. No internet access had to use my mobile data plan for the entire trip. Honestly I can't say I would recommend. I was truly disappointed with what I got for the price.

We spent a relaxing month at this hotel and were very happy without stay. Having visited the island over the last 35 years we found the location ideal, particularly as Carnival was on during our stay (very loud music in Hillsborough) and our room was nice and quiet. |We walked to town most days, downhill going so sometimes we chickened out and took the bus back (EC$2 per person). From town we took local buses which are frequent, excepting Sundays, with EC3.5 per person for longer trips. |The staff and owner (Shirley) are very friendly and helpful. Food was always good and cooked to order: best to let Shirley know your requirements a day ahead. The rooms are comfortable with TV. Some rooms have AC others a fan, the rooms vary in size and some have kitchens. There is an iron and ironing board on each floor but we did not notice a hairdryer. The rooms without a kitchen fo not have a fridge or tea & coffee making facilities. ||Overall a very pleasant stay and good value. Thank you Shirley.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in June 2019. The common areas were fantastic and the pool and deck were splendid - clean and well kept. The room was a bit small but clean. An upgrade is needed for both the bed and television - we're not fussy travelers but it's convenient to have a good working tv at times as well as a more comfortable bed. Lovely host in Shirley and the other staff were very friendly.

Grand View is at a good location up in the hills. View of town and ocean is great. However, not close to beach. Why would I try different hotel (maybe Green roof Inn):||1. US visitors: the room doesn’t have plug for US devices. Owner will charge your device at bar for you! ||2. If your room is on top and if it rains sound is so loud that I couldn’t sleep||3. Pillows are very tall and hard||4. Our friends stayed at Green Roof Inn, they were given adapters and breakfast was included. Hotel is right on ocean front. Great location too. I loved Carriacou island ||But will try Green Roof Inn next time. There fresh bread was so delicious.

Shirley was wonderful and welcoming and very kindly upgraded us to a suite with air conditioning as we were there off season and the hotel was not busy. The room #8 was very clean and had a wonderful balcony and view, comfortable firm King bed, a nice bathroom and a separate living room and kitchen. The shower took a long time to warm up, but was good...just hated to waste the water. Pool was very pleasant and clean. Being high up meant breezes kept the bugs away.||Shirley was very helpful in renting a car for us. When the car rental turned out to cost more than we thought it would be, she called the rental man and got a refund for us!||The hotel is a 15 minute walk(downhill) to town and the beach. Quieter than staying in town. Carriacou is like the old Caribbean. Everyone is friendly and knows each other. Beaches are very quiet (actually empty in some cases) and really the best we have seen anywhere. We looked at other hotel options while we were there, but we felt we had picked the right one!

Stayed here for 5 days, found the hotel clean and tidy, the rooms were pretty basic, but that wasn't a bad thing, the showering facilities were good, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the pool was kept clean and maintained well, the only downside was the hill up to it, if you're a little less abled you might find it a bit of a struggle getting back up it! Other than that a pleasant stay!
