Carriage Barn Bed & Breakfast

We enjoyed our one night stay here in Keene. Our room was cozy, and the atmosphere at this 1810 house was just perfect. We enjoyed talking with Joe, the owner, and learning a little about his house and establishment. Would highly recommend staying here.

Very nice BnB located walking distance from downtown Keene. The self check in was easy if you follow the texted instructions. We had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Joe during our continental breakfast. Very charming man who filled my wife in on some of the history of the original building. We hope to come back in the spring.

Great stay at the Carriage Barn. Easy walk to all of the restaurants and shops in Keene. The owner Joe is wonderful and makes you feel welcome. The common room is spacious and feels like home.

My daughter and I stayed in the twin room when visiting colleges in the area. The room was clean & comfortable and was a great value as the chain hotels in the area were double the price. I thought I'd take a chance since we'd be getting in late and leaving early and I'm so glad I did! Joe was a very friendly host and there was a simple but good assortment of breakfast foods offered. I would not hesitate to stay here again. This was my daughter's first time in a bed & breakfast...she loved it!

I am delighted that we chose to stay at the |Carriage Barn In. Our room hit the all-important three C’s- cute, clean and comfortable |We were greeted by very affable owner Joe,|who is an obvious people’s person, wiling to answer any questions about the inn or Keene. It’s a lovely place and I believe their website photos don’t do it justice. Thoughtful attention to detail throughout to ensure guests have everything they need. We stayed at the Monadnock Room and it was New England perfect. Shower a bit small, but bathroom is very clean. |Loved our metal headboard bed, but most important-it was comfortable! |There is no TV in the rooms, but there is a sitting area with a large TV and a smaller sitting area for relaxing. |The decor throughout is appropriately New England, and quite tasteful. |As for breakfast, it is continental but plentiful with great coffee. |Don’t think about it twice for your stay in Keene.

travelling with my brother and our wives, we usually will just stay in one of the chain hotels. we wanted to try something new and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. Will, your owner and host was amazing. he took care of anything and everything for us. we ended up having really clean and great rooms with clean and nice bathrooms. (better than the chains) we also had some time to relax on the deck and the common areas. made for a real nice evening. We did not know what to expect for breakfast but Will had us set up with great coffee and breakfast drinks and had a nice spread of fresh fruits and a few varied other items for breakfast. We travel fairly often and i would highly recommend staying at this property.

Just spent one night here with a friend and wished I could have spent more. The host, Joe, was there when we arrived and made us feel very welcome. Our room with twin beds was perfect for two friends. The living areas were comfortable and inviting. Joe made several recommendations for dinner and gave us a lot of tasty choices for our continental breakfast the next morning. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

My sister and I reserved the blue/ bird room. It was my first time in a b&b and it did not disappoint. The place is clean and cosy and Joe is very personable. Close to Main Street where the different shops and restaurants are. We liked the Thai restaurant and Hannah's market has wonderful items. Joe has a great spread for breakfast and conversation is always flowing. If I'm up in the area, I would definitely book here again.

Lovely old building. I loved Keene. Room was immaculate and it was great talking with Joe. Very welcoming atmosphere. It was also a much nicer place to stay than some "fancy" hotel. I can't wait to stay here again.

This place was a great find for a night's stay while in Keene. Will is an excellent host and checked in with us by phone when we had not yet arrived. We could let ourselves in when we arrived. The room was comfortable and cool, and quiet. We woke to find a small group of guests having breakfast and talking. Coffee, pastries, fresh fruit and yogurt. It was perfect! And the conversation was easy and interesting. I totally recommend staying here Oh, and Will gave us an excellent recommendation for a trail to hike before we headed home to Boston. Such a fun weekend!

I booked through Booking.com. It CLEARLY stated - Pay ONLY upon arrival. NO money would be taken at time of reservation. Elm City took money off of my credit card immediately in March. Booking.com CLEARLY stated - FREE CANCELLATION until May 13th for a Memorial Day weekend reservation. Once booked - Elm City sent an email saying ANY cancellation - they would keep $25. !!!! Elm City NEVER refunded the money taken from my credit card. I DID cancel my reservation and Elm City REFUSED to reply, communicate, or work with Booking.com. Booking.com stood by their policies, THEY refunded my money and are getting reimbursed from Elm City. A very UNDERHANDED, sleazy way to do business!!! I do NOT recommend nor would I EVER stay here.

A nice, safe, quiet retreat on the edge of downtown. We found the Carriage House at the last minute. The innkeeper who just bought and is renovating the place is very welcoming. The house is quiet, we walked the grounds, slept with the screen windows open. The breakfast was really great - local New Hampshire coffee, organic blueberries, jam and butter and banana walnut bread.
