Stayed here during the Calgary Stampede and wow! From service to the room everything was incredible. We checked in quite late and the staff were friendly and welcomed us so kindly, they gave us a complimentary upgrade which was greatly appreciated by us. The location was perfect, just outside of the hustle and bustle of the city but not too far away! Definitely recommend to anyone.

During our stay, we found the initial pillows to be quite large for our preference, but a quick call to Housekeeping resolved this promptly, and two lighter pillows were provided. We thoroughly enjoyed Peanuts Bar—complimentary nuts, a friendly and engaging waitress, and excellent food. The Sinful Sunday Steak and eggs were especially delicious. Afternoon cocktails at Dudleys were also delightful. Additionally, room service was both timely and efficient when delivering our food. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

This was my second visit to this hotel. I rarely return to the same hotel twice but this place is definitely an exception!||Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating. We asked for a late checkout out and they were willing to do that for us. The pool was nice and warm, as was the hot tub. ||The breakfast had several option. ||We did have a room right next to the elevators so were woken up by people talking, but this is a layout issue and not much can be done. We didn’t request a different room but could have and I’m sure they would have found one for us.

Cindy was absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived. She was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. You could tell right away that she really cares about the guests. She made the check-in process so easy and smooth, and really went out of her way to welcome us. It honestly felt like she wanted us to have the best experience possible. I truly appreciated how sweet and accommodating she was. The hotel is lucky to have her.

I cannot say enough good things about the Carriage House Hotel and Conference Centre! From the moment we began planning our wedding, the incredible team—especially Lino and Roxane—went above and beyond to make sure our day was absolutely perfect. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but with their support, it felt effortless. Lino and Roxane were attentive, kind, professional, and truly invested in making our vision come to life. They were there for every question, every detail, and every step of the way. Their experience and genuine care made all the difference. Our reception was everything I dreamed of and more. The space was beautifully set, the food was incredible, and the service was exceptional. I’m still getting compliments from guests about how beautiful and seamless everything was—and I owe that all to the amazing team at Carriage House. If you're looking for a venue that’s not only beautiful but also backed by a team that will do everything in their power to make your event a success, this is it. I will forever be grateful for the care and effort they put into making our special day unforgettable.

Stayed at the Carriage House for the Rotary International Convention in June 2025. I booked based on price, and I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel offers great value for the money. Rooms were clean, hotel staff were great, and the two dining options at the hotel were amazing, They offered great food at a very reasonable price. The hotel is also just a 7 minute walk from the Heritage C Train Station, making getting to downtown easy. They don't have an airport shuttle which a minus, but if you are able bodied, Calgary Transit will get you there at a reasonable cost. I would definitely book here again.

Google
What an excellent experience! From the minute we checked in! The staff was incredibly friendly, front desk, breakfast staff and Peanuts stuff. Rooms are clean, pool is great, food is good. Amazing value. I highly recommend this hotel for many reasons but the staff is the top reason. Great job 👏🏼👏🏼

I was in Calgqry to attend the Rotary International Convention. I stayed at the Carriage House Inn because it was close to the Red Line which would take me to the BMO Centre, and it was reasonably priced. It is a bit of a walk from the Heritage Station on the Red Line (about 1/2 mile), but was otherwise convenient and easy to get to. The hotel is well-appointed and the staff are efficient and friendly. I was very satisfied.

Yelp
The Carriage House has become my go-to choice for when I visit Calgary. The location is great for visiting family in the south end of the city but also spending time downtown. It is just off of MacLeod Trail and a short walk from the Heritage C-Train station. The rooms aren't particularly fancy but they're clean and do the job. The only issue we encountered on our last visit was an extremely loud group on our floor. However, after we called the front desk at 3am, they quickly quieted down. A buffet breakfast is included with your stay and was always a nice way to start the day. There was decent variety and it wasn't exactly the same for the 3 days we had it. The hotel is also pet-friendly which is great if you don't want to leave your dog with a sitter.

Yelp
Our family all enjoyed the Carriage Inn Sunday Brunch Buffet mid November. The 10:30 am seating was full so we were able to grab the 12:30 seating . Parking was tight in the lot but we managed to find a spot in the back area . I would recommend making reservations since there was a lot of diners enjoying their meal . When we were seated at our table in the dining room at the back , it was nice to have goblets of cold orange juice ready and glasses of water at our table . When we got to the food area , several salads & items like eggs Benny were empty but they were refilled as soon as possible . There was salads , breakfast items like scrambled eggs , sausages , bacon , waffles with fresh fruit sauce , whip cream , omelot station, hash browns ,fresh prime rib carved , desserts galore & a cascading chocolate fountain with trays of fresh cut fruit , etc Service was excellent in clearing empty plates & refilling our drinks ! I would come back again & we all enjoyed everything !

Yelp
This place was a pleasant surprise for me! I loved the accommodations and the location was a definite plus! I had very little stress staying here over a long weekend. It was very easy to find this place because it's located near the main roads. There was a lot of parking in front of the hotel. The check in process was fairly quick and organized. The room was clean and contemporary in design. The room even included a complementary bottle of red wine! Another plus was the complementary breakfast! The breakfast buffet included eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausages, pancakes, pastries and fruit! The food was warm and I enjoyed it! We were given a bill after our breakfast but it's just to keep a record of who ate breakfast in the dining room. A great way to start the day! I had a great experience here. I'll definitely consider coming back!

Yelp
We were very satisfied with our recent stay here! We loved that it was very central and easily accessible to Downtown Calgary (not too far from the airport either). But, the highlight for me was the friendliness of the staff. We booked this place last minute after reading reviews that breakfast was also great and it was one of the few hotels I found that is close to a mall, Downtown and the airport. The hotel is newly renovated so the rooms look very nice and clean. I love that they had included 4 pillows on the bed to make it extra cozy and the view from the room was also very nice. They are taking covid measures and breakfast is a la carte (you pick one item from the menu). I chose the lox bagel which I enjoyed but found the bagel served should have been a little more fresh or at least warmed up. Anyhow, I would recommend this place and would definitely consider it for my next trip to Calgary regardless. Close to many shops (of all kinds), grocery stores, restaurants and even a mall (Chinook).

Yelp
We just got back from Mother's day brunch here and we're so disappointed, especially after having seen some good reviews about this place for Mother's day brunch and being on Yelps top 12 list. With a price tag of $48/adult or kids over 10, it definitely was not worth it. The service wasn't great and by the looks of it a bit disorganized. We made reservations or 11 initially but two weeks before we called to change the reservation to 13. However, due to illness two couldn't make it so we were back to 11. When we showed up, our reservation still showed 11, but I thought no worries with two not coming. The place was busy, and they brought us to a table set for only 8. It was a smaller round table and there was no way they could squeeze 3 more seats without us rubbing elbows as we eat. Luckily my sister's party had some extra room so we had our three boys go to another table. When we talked to a supervisor he told us the table is designed for 10, but I beg to differ with the size. Nine ok, but definitely not 10 or 11. The line up was long, and they ran out of plates at one point. The food selection was not what you'd expect for a $48 brunch, limited selection of cheese (one plate) , cold cuts (one plate) , and there wasn't even any bread...none. Salad selection was underwhelming and so was the hot food offering. The dessert selection was meh as well. Food was cold and unfortunately my son and another boy found hair in their food. My youngest said he lost his appetite after he found a curly in his soggy hash browns. We've been to a few other buffets before and they were better I would have to say. I don't don't know what the hype was about for this place. The only saving grace was a supervisor acknowledged the issue with our table seating and gave us 30% off. Even with that we really didn't feel there was value in what we received. My boys aren't picky eaters and they even said it wasn't good. It was too busy, with poor service and limited selection. Save your money and go to a nice restaurant for brunch, that's what we'd do next time.

Yelp
Sooo.. Yelp HQ took my review down because they thought I had family attached to the hotel which is the reason I gave them a 5 star review but I am here to ensure that I do not. I always come to the hotel for Stampede breakfast and Mother's Day brunch and it is a beautiful hotel with an outdoor pool and close to ranchmans!

Yelp
Just had a great 3 night stay in this hotel. It's an older hotel that has been very nicely renovated. Staff are great, from front desk to restaurant and those you meet in the hall. The complementary breakfast is in the restaurant not some afterthought space and is a full buffet. We'll stay again for sure.

Yelp
The main pro to Carriage House Inn is the location! It is super close to both Chinook mall and Southcentre. The rooms are fairly standard. Mostly clean, and nothing over the top. Our reservation included a complimentary hot buffet breakfast, which entailed scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, toast, and hashbrowns. There were also a small assortment of pastries/croissants as well as cereal. Breakfast was quite a quick affair, as it was mostly help yourself and once you settle dosn with the food, the servers will take your beverage orders. It was perfect for those morning we were a bit short on time and needed to get in and get out quickly. I also enjoyed that check out was at 12, so you didn't have to rush, the day of. The one drawback is the elevators in the building are quite old and slow. And one of the days, we were there, one of them was down. There is plenty of parking; however, it does get a bit packed on Saturday evenings due to weddings and events going on at the hotel.

Yelp
I booked in for two nights during the heat wave. They have an outdoor pool and breakfast included. I read some glowing reviews of the place and the photos online looked nice. Naive I was though. First off, walking in, the place was packed. It given it was Canada day, I was expecting that. We waited in a line at the check in for about 20 minutes! There were two gals on the desk but taking absolutely forever! Finally we get into our room and it was run down. It looked like they had done some reno's but used their buddy's brother to do them if you catch my drift. Tacky and the room was so small snd cramped it gave me claustrophobia. Again - I should've looked at the square footage before booking. Oh and it was $200/night. I was willing to let it go because I had heat stroke and needed air conditioning and was happy to find a place with a room. I went downstairs to get supper from the "highly acclaimed" lol pub. On the way to the pub to order, I passed by the windows to the pool. I was shocked and appalled by what I saw. There were so many people in the pool snd on the deck that I'm sure they were breaking multiple codes. I thought to myself no way am I going out there! I got to the pub and ordered our meals. On the way out I was met by several intoxicated people clearly from the pool as they were dripping. Trying to order from me. I had to tell them I didn't work there. Just as an employee from the pub walks out and toward the pool with a tray in hand. Wth they are serving food and drinks out in the pool area??!! Omg. The level of cleanliness or should o say lack of was eye opening. Seeing that I was confident that my room was treated with the same lack of attention. My son and I started our dinner and I couldn't even cut through my steak. It had zero seasoning. My don ate two bites of his pasta snd we both threw our meals out. We left the hotel to get dinner elsewhere. Upon returning, I promptly cancelled my second night. The next morning I went down to get breakfast to bring up to the room as the restaurant was packed with a line up. I waited patiently in line only to be told that they are NOT doing take out. Eventually after coming back down a couple hours later, and speaking to the manager expressing that my son has diagnosed social anxiety snd couldn't come down, he said he'd get the breakfast packed up. He was very rushed, and made me feel like I was putting him out. The breakfasts I ordered were the challah French toast snd the pancakes for my son. When I got to my room snd opened them, I found two tiny pancakes with a package of butter and a plastic container with syrup. That's it! The challah French toast with Apple compote etc etc came as two slices of bread diagonally cut French toast soggy, cold snd limp. No compote, no cream, no nothing but the same packaged butter and syrup lol. Incidentally, if It weren't already included in the room rate, I would've paid approx $30 for this. The lack of service, the lack of cleanliness, the lack of CLASS of this joint should put anyone off. I couldn't wait to get out of there! I rebooked at the Sheraton eau Claire and got nearly the same price! I got valet parking, a suite that is clean, luxuriously decorated and furnished, and very large, incredible service where they bend over backwards to make you feel welcome and happy, and get this, they checked us in in under 5 min we were on our way upstairs to our room! The pool was very clean! Towels provided. There's a water slide and they care about the safety and cleanliness of their amenities! The food at the hotel was incredible! So much that I don't want to leave! Save yourself and don't book here.

Yelp
It's an OK stay. Nothing fantastic and all too quirky for me. There is a carriage "in" the lobby along with bunch of doorways to different rooms, restaurants, and bars. Check in was interesting as they were using the old system of imprinting cards and I think there was a punch card system in the back room! Yikes! The old western in Calgary never dies. Next to the elevator was a bird cage...oooookaaaayyy fine. The room was stale and will need some freshening up in the future. The bed was ok for a one nighter. Bathroom was tight. If you're on the side of too much bacon and butter toasts...good luck! Talking about eating too much, there is a breakfast buffet. The standard stuff...sausage, bacon, carbs and picked over fruit salad. Though it is included in the stay, a lady comes by with the full amount on the tab so you can fill out an appropriate tip amount for her coffee service.

Yelp
It's great Sunday brunch, a good value for the money. Good selections of salads, made to order omelette, prime rib like roast beef, fresh cook pan fried shrimps, great selection of good deserts. It's a good price for $27/person. Give it a try.

Yelp
We were in a newly renovated room. The room, hallways, lobby were all fresh and clean, cool in the super hot weather. Our room technically has air conditioning but we were told it is not instant, lol, which means hours to cool and the room will always be hotter than the hallway. The room has no air movement, at all, as even the bathroom 'fan' is negligible. The windows is tiny/useless so we bought a large fan for our room to get us through the heat. Other than the hassle of a warm room the stay was nice because the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. We had decent continental breakfasts and the wifi is stellar compared to most hotels we have been at. We did not get kicked off or have to log back in even one time during our four night stay.

Tara B.

Yelp
Disappointed: we came for the weekend and they rented part of the pool to a bunch of wild party animals. You couldn't enjoy the pool at all as a family. It wasn't worth staying here to watch them strip down and do shots in front of my kids.

Yelp
Used to be my favourite buffet place to take family in special occasions. Good quality food and nice presentation. It still has quality good but it's cramped with tables and understaffed.
google avatar

Terrence L.

Yelp
I've never stayed here (as I live pretty close by), but I have tried to go to sunday brunch here as often as possible. While I've mentioned in other reviews that the Executive Royal Inn in the NE has by far the largest sunday brunch buffet I've ever seen, this by far is a close second, and the quality of the brunch is definately better. Another of the "If you eat here you'll explode like in the Meaning of Life" restos that my family do their best to keep me from, I'm always amazed by the overall quality of the food. Just mountains of hot entree dishes, pancakes, crepes, waffles, omelets, hot carvery station, and the endless amounts of desserts! Honestly, this is probably my favorite of all of the hotel resto buffets I like to frequent, and only wish I could go more often without probably risking my life just by pure overeating. It's been voted the most popular sunday brunch by Calgarians for years, and there's a pretty good reason for it. However, you really do have to go in earlier (say before noon) if you really want to avoid the lines. After noon, all bets are off, and you could expect to be standing in line for awhile, so bring your smartphone, nook, kindle or whatever. It's simply that good and really reasonably priced.

Yelp
A remarkably bustling tower located straight down MacLeod Trail from Downtown, the Chinook Mall a few miles away, Carriage House Hotel is a good mid-price option with plenty of conference space, three in-house restaurants and a well equipped 24/7 Gym. Staff is pleasant, rooms are clean and toiletries are better quality than most while Parking and strong WiFi are both complimentary.
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
I am not reviewing the hotel itself, although it looks nice with all the new renovations. Our friends raved about the Sunday brunch here, and so we decided to get up early and go with them. Needless to say I was impressed. So many choices for a brunch buffet. Everything was delicious! I did have some prime rib and typical "non-breakfasty" type things, but I couldn't resist. It was delicious!

Yelp
I stayed here for 3 nights while I was in Calgary on business. The hotel's lobby is nice and it seemed like it would be a pleasant stay. The rooms are average- at par with what I would expect in that price range. The location is below average. It's situated on a very busy street about 15 min from downtown Calgary. The reason I gave this hotel 1 star is because the service and food were awful. I did not enjoy one single meal while I stayed there. The breakfast buffet is nasty, so I opted for A La Carte thinking it would be better.. Wrong! My eggs benny were gross.. the hollandaise sauce most certainly came out of a package that you mix with water. The worst part was the service. While in Calgary, naturally I had lots of questions. Not one staff was able to answer ANY of my questions. One would think these people live under a rock! There is a Starbucks right next door, I called the front desk to find out what time they opened- no one had a clue and they put me on hold for 5 min to find out.. I obv hung up eventually. I asked for restaurant recommendations, the staff looked at me like I was alien from another planet. The list goes on... I will never stay there again nor host an event.

Yelp
Reason for my visit - Attending an evening training session. The directions posted at the front seemed easy enough "2nd floor, Lincolnshire room". Get up to the room and no one is there. Lights off, and even 2 different signs indicating 2 different groups. No biggie, I'll head back downstairs and just ask at the front desk. Whoa, never mind!! Snotty little teenagers roll their eyes like I'm the inconvenience! "sign says 2nd floor...". I indicated that I had read that and checked the entire second floor, but to no avail. "well then I don't know." was the response I received. Holy!!! I'd hate for you to have to look into it for me! Wouldn't recommend this for a meeting facility if this is the service that my employees or co-workers would receive upon arrival.

Yelp
We stayed at the Carriage House Inn one night before the Ride to Conquer Cancer bike marathon, as the hotel was one of the host hotels. It looks a bit older on the outside but looks quite cozy inside. Sure, it's no Hilton or Westin, but it has it's own loveliness going for it. The rooms are clean and not too small, and the beds are comfortable. There is a complimentary cookie waiting for you in your room when you arrive, similar to the Doubletree, but I don't think the cookies are baked fresh. The hotel staff are friendly and accommodating. There is a restaurant on the main floor of the hotel, a baked goods stand, a room with slots machines, and a sports pub and pool outside. They even have a bird cage with real birds by the elevator! Kind of random, but nice? All in all, we enjoyed our short stay here and appreciated that it was very comfortable before the big marathon. I would come back here again if I was in town.

Yelp
I am reviewing them based on an event I attended and the banquet rooms. I am not reviewing the hotel itself, since I have not stayed here nor have I seen the rooms. Since they have new renovations, the lobby looked quite nice and fresh. Staff seemed friendly and said hello when I entered. Always a good start. The banquet rooms all looked great. Decorated, current and clean. The food and service in the Windsor room was fantastic. Great event staff. Would defiantly recommend to anyone who is looking to have an event here. Whether corporate, wedding or any other type of celebration.

Yelp
Took my Mom for Mother's Day to Carriage House Inn. We did not participate in the buffet since my Mom is in a walker and I didn't think she could handle going up and down gathering her meal. We dined at the restaurant. The wait staff was very kind, efficient, and friendly. We both ordered eggs, sausage, hash browns, and an extra order of pancakes on the side. The food was very good, we enjoyed it a lot and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend for a nice meal to visit the Carriage House Inn. Thank you for an excellent meal.

Heather M.

Yelp
The Sunday brunch was good for the most part. There were a few items that were dry (i.e. mini croissants, one dessert cake was like dried bread - really not edible), the garlic shrimp was cold and the prime rib was tasteless. I would say it was more roast beef than a prime rib which was disappointing as this was what we all were looking forward to most. Service was good. I would recommend a juice bar where you can have your pick of juice rather than having orange juice at every place setting. I saw a lot of waste as many did not touch their orange juice. I would recommend a seniors price as my Mom most definitely did not eat her monies worth.

Yelp
I stayed here while in town to speak at an internet marketing conference. From the outside, the hotel looks very shabby and modest. Inside, it's nicer and has some good conference facilities. The location is not great; about five miles south of downtown. The staff were friendly and helpful. I am giving 3 stars which, in Yelp land, means "A-okay". The main reason I'm not giving more is because the place looks so weak from the outside. Somehow, for a hotel to feel good, it has to look good too. This hotel fails on that point.
google avatar

Jon S.

Yelp
Very nice. Clean rooms. Polite and friendly staff. They fixed a couple of problems I had (noisy neighbors) quickly and professionally. Several design details That I appreciate being one who stays in a lot of hotels, e.g. Easy access electrical plugs, refrigerator, TV guide, free WiFi, free news paper, good pillows and towels. Descent restaurant compared to other hotels. Sunday brunch is super. Sports bar connected to hotel. Great to watch six NFL games at the same time while munching on peanuts. Fitness room and pool is much nicer than most hotels. Has several meeting / party rooms. Convenience store across the street. Several restaurants and C-train station in short walking distance. Only problems - no microwave; I wish the frequent stay points could be used on hotels in the states.

Jack L.

Yelp
DONT STAY HERE This hotel is so bad it's unbelievable. First, there is literally not one thing that is complimentary. You need to pay for everything. As soon as you walk in you are bombarded with room service meals, and water bottles that have a price tag right on them. There is a table that has a letter on it that says: no smoking, and it was fucking covered in crumbs. They advertise free high speed wifi, but the wifi doesn't even fucking show up on my list. There is no toaster, oven, washing machine, etc. Just a shitty coffee machine that has 3 Starbucks packs and 2 sugar packs.

Test R.

Yelp
Rooms are small, but renovated. Walls thin, so you hear everything in hallways. Breakfast is a disaster - best avoided. Best thing about it is that it's relatively close to Spruce Meadows.
google avatar

Hooman H.

Yelp
The customer service was rather rude to us because we were younger. They genuinely made it hard for us. But that aside the hotel it's self is quite nice and in a pretty good location if you are visiting Calgary.

Charles B.

Yelp
Good place group events but the staff is short and not willing to help. Breakfast buffet is more like a prison food line. The elevator was broken down and the stairway access was locked out. Didn't seem anyone working there cared or understood how to operate a hotel when having events on site.
google avatar

Ian M.

Yelp
This is the best brunch buffet I've laid my eye's on. All the food is fresh and made to order. There's a chefs station serving up custom omlettes and prime rib. The selection of meats and cheese is huge. Traditional bacon eggs and sausage available. Dont foget to leave room for the chocolate fountain!
google avatar

Nisha S.

Yelp
The room was fairly cold. I didn't know how to turn the heating up. The overall amenities were pretty amazing! The service staff did not seem very welcoming or friendly and I felt like the room could have had more space to move around. There were three of us and I only two breakfasts were complimentary. They had birds in the lobby, about 5 birds in a cage. I wasn't too sure how I felt about that.

lianne d.

Yelp
Stayed here for a conference. But for the conference, I would have immediately left after checking in. The front staff appeared as though someone was forcing them to work. The clerk who assisted us did not even acknowledge our presence. The place is undergoing renovations. This morning I woke up only to find a construction workers working the side of the building while I was sleeping with the drapes drawn open. No notice given by the hotel that such would be occurring. Rooms are renovated, but poorly. Public washrooms are clean. Hallways are very dated. If you are looking for a budget place to stay, this may be a good choice but do not expect superior service.

Yelp
20 for Sunday buffet brunch and everyone was happy!! Now that's hard to do. Good selection of food, fresh and tasty.

Jer E.

Yelp
Older hotel, the room was smallish but clean. The staff was friendly. Decent bar. Price was reasonable. Lots of parking, close to several restaurants.

Whitney O.

Yelp
Great wedding venue for the most part. The wedding also had 6 noise complaints when there was a DJ and it was over by midnight. We stayed at the hotel and were told we need to pay for 2 rooms because of noise complaints at 4am. I was asleep by midnight. Without authorization they think they can charge 2 rooms. Because the lady next door complained. They think we should pay for her room when we were asleep long before then... And the women were incredibly rude at the front desk. And they apparently don't have a manager here. At a hotel on the weekend. I am incredibly disappointed with the carriage house. And would not recommend to anyone.

Steve M.

Yelp
I stayed in the hotel for one night. The wallpaper in the 6th floor hallway was peeling off the wall. I discovered as I was stepping into the shower that there was no shampoo provided. I ate in the restauant twice and had my meal order screwed up both times. It is a high priced budget hotel.

Robert B.

Yelp
Went for brunch with friends today. Much of the food was cold including my bacon. Now I don't mean Luke warm food(there was a lot of that too). I mean cold food that was suppose to be hot. We were also given the bill before anyone was done their first plate of food which I found unusual and certainly not a positive experience. The area we were seated in felt like a banquet room from the 70's. Not a positive experience and if you a offered me a free brunch it would not be worth the drive to get there from th NW.

Yelp
Wow!!! 'Complementary Breakfast' apparently only means 2 per room. Would have been nice to have known that when we told the penny pinchers here we had 4 people staying in our room and they still insisted that breakfast was complementary. Service is horrible too

Yelp
Never stayed at the Hotel but had the Sunday Brunch and ate there one evening in the restaurant and the food was awesome. The brunch had a huge selection and for such a big spread it was good quality. The restaurant was VERY good, I was impressed.
