Carriage House Inn

Great location, short walk to downtown, covered bridge and walking path. Ample parking. The breakfast was delicious and served in the dining room filled with antiques. A fire was lit in the sitting room at night, which was a delightful atmosphere.|However, our room needed TLC: Mould at the bottom exterior of the shower frame (inside shower was clean), lumpy bed and a mouldy window-air conditioner that sounded like a jet engine, so we slept with the windows open instead. The towels were scratchy and could have used a touch of either fabric softener or plain vinegar in the rinse. For $250 a night, I expected a better room.

Website shows a lovely heritage house and it is in a great location. It may have some nice rooms but ours was not worth 200 dollars a night. We booked a 'traditional room well in advance but got one with no proper ventilation, broken window blinds on the 2 small windows one of which was not on an outside wall, a broken smoke detector, one loose power socket and two extension power cables that were also a hazard. The service was civil but not welcoming. Nothing like as good as other inns we visited on our trip.

We stayed here for 3 nights recently and although the staff and the breakfasts were excellent, our room was a huge disappointment ! We were stuffed into a very small attic closet. The AC was noisy, the windows were so foggy they were unpleasant to look out of and one was held open by a milk bottle. The shower was so small I couldn’t reach my knees without banging my head. Also, the TV was old and therefore no smart features and was so small , it seemed smaller than my computer screen. We stayed here expecting what is shown on the internet photos not because it was the only place in town. Had we known the room was as I have described, we would have stayed elsewhere.

Angie is the absolute best. She is the brightest star about staying here. I find old homes so beautiful and much more charming, so getting to stay in one was also lovely. Thank you Angie for making our stay in Fredericton !

Do not be fooled by the endless praiseworthy reviews. Be vigilant and thoroughly INSPECT booked room PRIOR to checking-in. Look carefully for deficits, such as non-operational TV, shelves attached to walls by scotch tape (!) and rotting, junk furniture / furnishings. Windows impossible to pry open, and cables twisting about awkwardly. Ancient metal blinds that won't co-operate. So-called 'Vegan option' for breakfast is an absolute joke, at best. Solo travelers in particular be on guard: do not assume that the room 'appointed' to you will impress. Be diligent and inspect FIRST. Don't make the same mistake I made. Don't be humble, as I was. Respect is not much to ask for, is it? Speaking of respect-maybe try listening to guest concerns (two messages never replied to) rather than ignoring them and pretending the problem is simply the guest (s) but not the management?

Located near downtown Fredericton, this gem is the perfect retreat with access to the beautiful city. The caretaker, Angie, is an awesome host and caretaker and her blueberry banana pancakes are to die for

I had the pleasure of staying here for 4 nights to attend a meeting at the conference centre. I really enjoyed the comfort and convenience of the Inn throughout my stay. Angie and the breakfast staff were tremendously friendly and made the stay here most pleasant. All my different breakfast meals were absolutely delicious. The location is very good to walk downtown or to the University. It’s much more appealing than a modern hotel room, in my opinion. I would be happy to return for a stay in the future. What a great stay we had. The property is lovely, clean, well maintained and within walking distance of downtown||The owner Stacy and host Angie were wonderful gracious hosts and were very helpful with recommendations, etc.||Breakfast was delicious- the blueberry pancakes really were delicious.

The house was built in the 1800's and was the original home to the mayor of Fredericton who was a free mason. Beautiful building with lots of rooms - each with their own washroom. Lots of stairs if you're on the top floor - comfy and clean with complimentary breakfast. Jugs of orange juice, free flowing coffee, yogurt assortment at the communal tables. Very friendly and helpful staff.

My daughter and I just stayed here for 3 overnights. She was looking for a college and I just wanted a mini vacation. I certainly got it. We were made to feel at home the moment we met Natalie. We felt like family members just stopping by for a visit. She'd ask what we had planned for the day and if we needed any suggestions for what to do. Jamie took care of us for breakfast each morning. I really liked the Carriage House eggs! Natalie and Jamie, thanks for making our stay better!! We'll be back in the fall!
