Nice, but small rooms, we got a suite, still kinda small. BUT, these guys have maintenance and infrastructure issues. Where can I start?
A "fireplace suite" that the fireplace doesn't work? Not a pilot light problem, a mechanical one. It is gas. Yes, I negotiated a healthy discount because of it. And yes, it was admitted they knew it far in advance of my arrival. It should have been fixed or we should have been notified.
I had to pair my computer with my cell phone because the internet connection works, only sometimes.
The message light on their landline phone flashed for our entire stay, we don't have messages.
Electronics, like TV, pretty out of date, especially in the living room.
Poorly laid out room, at least ours. Doors don't fully open, you can get by easily, but kind of weird, because furniture is in the way. A "love seat" is the only living room seating besides a desk chair, next to the non working fireplace and a huge empty basket, to watch a maybe 26 inch TV. BTW, the huge empty basket makes it so the bedroom door hits the couch and will not fully open. The other door of the French door set to the bedroom hits the desk about half way.
Everything felt tight in that suite and we are thin people. My wife is a small woman but we both commented that the space was over filled and felt crowded.
You can watch a bigger TV in the bedroom, while in bed.
Doesn't look like they have AC. There was traffic noise, at least in our place, if it was hot and you had to open the windows? Yikes! Some of the windows don't seem to fully close anyway.
There are other small issues. But for the price they charge, there should not be. Any of them. I gave them 3 stars because the hotel is actually quite nice, as was the staff but they have some work to do.
Fabulous breakfast, at least for us. The eggs and bacon crowd will be disappointed though. More yogurt and fruit and pastry. Delicious. Served by a nice young woman.
Hate to say it but Eureka is on life support. We used to stop in town for lunch on a long car trip we take a couple of times a year and liked it a lot. As a stopover for a couple of nights? In the future we'll pass.
Some darn good oysters can be had, though.
