Visited for lunch on a weekday with no reservation. It was fairly crowded, but they quickly seated me in the front dining area. I went with the Gentleman's Dish with a side of mashed potatoes & lemonade. Maneesha was my server. He was wonderful & made sure i was well taken care of. Impeccable service! Food was delicious & served within 10 minutes. The roasted duck legs were tender & lightly seasoned. The braised cabbage was surprisingly flavourful with dill as a topping. I recommend sitting inside to get the most of the experience & take in the historic charm & elegant interiors. Reserve in advance to get balcony or mezzanine seating. It was a treat dining here. Definitely worth a visit while in Old Town Budapest.

The atmosphere in this place is amazing. Obviously you pay for the place and what you see. The music on the afternoon is great attach. And everything is beautiful inside. I did a reservation from their website and I recommended because on the afternoon they had a lot of people outside. The reservation was in "Beer cart - Bacchus Balcony" and they put me in the place you see in the pictures. From their virtual tour: https://www.carucubere.ro/en/contact/virtual-tour/ L0-means the main room (The classic’s and The Royal); L2-means the balcony (The Old Papa Ghita and Gambrinus balcony); C-1- means the Craftman’s wine cellar. The food was good but I wanted to be better for their price. Sausages great but small. The meat with the bone good but I believe it was needed to be little more juice. The starter was great and the ice cream. For sure I recommended for the experience and the music with the violins 😁

Read about this restaurant in the suggestions on what to do and I was concerned it may be a tourist trap but it is not, the restaurant is great! The food was really good and serve quickly. I'll definitely be back! Staff was very friendly. Madalina was our server and she was great! Prices are good for the amount of food you get. Bring your belly empty because you fill up here. Highly recommend it 🔥🔥🔥

From the moment I stepped into Caru’ cu Bere, I was absolutely enchanted by the rich history and stunning ambiance of this iconic Bucharest landmark. The beautiful stained glass, intricate woodwork, and warm lighting create an atmosphere that perfectly blends tradition with elegance. The service was impeccable — attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making sure every guest feels welcome. The staff’s knowledge of the menu and Romanian cuisine added a wonderful personal touch to the experience. Speaking of the food, it was nothing short of spectacular! Each dish was a delightful celebration of authentic Romanian flavors, prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The fish and the traditional mici (grilled sausages) were particular highlights, bursting with savory goodness. Paired with their excellent selection of local beers and wines, every bite was a true pleasure. Caru’ cu Bere is not just a restaurant; it’s a cultural treasure that offers a feast for the senses. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, dining here is a must-do experience that will leave you with lasting memories and a deep appreciation for Romanian heritage. I can’t wait to return and indulge in this culinary gem again. Highly recommended to anyone seeking an extraordinary dining adventure! Thank you Mr. Constantin Ștefan!

The food was great with a big big volume. The price is also reasonable. The staff was very friendly, hospitable, and nice. They speak English so we didn't have any problems! The setting was gorgeous inside, and downstairs is cooler in summer. They have a real live band performance, which was entertaining.

We sat on a balcony which was perfect location to view the dancers. The food was delicious and our waitress Nicolette was great! Definitely would recommend this place for visitors to experience authentic Romanian vibes!

The place is worth the hype. Food is really good, the traditional dancing is fun, you can even join them! It’s an experience to be here. Reservation is really needed, plan ahead. Mutton sausages were my favorite, we ordered second portion as a “dessert”. 😀

Staff was more or less nice but you could see that they have to handle a lot of so it’s easy to understand. They still were really nice. Food is quite average. I wouldn’t say that it was good but the atmosphere there makes up for it. The building is amazing and they have live music or some shows so as the one time thing u can enjoy that plane but other way? Overpriced and not worth of going there second time that for sure
