Very good meat, nice staff and very nice experience! We ate inside and lack a bit ventilation. A bit more for the expensive side comparing with other local restaurants but really worth if you like good meat

I went in to try 3 different steaks. All were great. They initially serve a table full of starters (not free) but after I told them to take them away they make no fuss about it so all good.

Unfortunately, the worst experience in Portugal. We managed to order after 30 minutes in restaurant (service forgot about us). I ordered the speciality of this restaurant: mixed skewer "a la carvoaria" (veal and shrimp) for 20 euros and my husband ordered a steak. I asked for a medium veal and my husband asked for medium rare steak. My skewer looked amazing but it was done rare/blue - so i asked to make it more like asked before. But the worst part was that even shrimps were made rare - and it's really not healthy to eat shrimps raw! I was disgusted and barely ate anything. In the pictures you can see grey areas on shrimps bellies. My husband has steak more grilled than mine and we asked otherwise. We have a lot of experience with meat and steak houses and this was our worst so far. Our side dishes were punched potatoes and grilled ananas. Grilled ananas was ok, but punched potatoes were not punched - they were just really expensive young boiled potatoes. Overall it was very loud in restaurant.

Loved everything about the restaurant, the staff were very friendly, the portion of our food was more than enough for my husband and I. But you cannot compare our portions with others as we are the kind who eat small portions. We ordered wagyu sirloin steak (300grams) with mushroom risotto and punched potatoes for the side. It was great and i would highly recommend it for meat eaters. It was 50€ in total as we shared the steak and the sides.

Without being the best steakhouse Ive been in my life (far from it actually, in terms of venue, service, atmosphere), I can tell tho it is the best quality/price wagyu steak Ive ever had. Great meat quality, reasonable prices and good portions

Oh my goodness. After a week of excellent food in Lisbon, I didn’t think it could get better. Then I ate at A Carvoaria. It might be hard to believe, but I had both the best steak I have had in my life (their Wagyu steak) and the best risotto I’ve had in my life (their mushroom risotto). Everything we had was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. I skipped the starter plate selection they brought me as it felt a bit unexpected, and I’m glad I did as I wished I had even more room in me to eat more of their steak.

If you are a dedicated carnivore, you have to dine here. Steaks are huge, order according to weight I had the rump which was lovely, with sides of creamed spinach and garlic potatoes. Big portions will satisfy the hungriest diner. Two glasses of wine, an espresso and cherry liquor. Amazing value at 33 euro. Place is lively too!

Lovely looking restaurant with an excellent grill menu. I'm a vegetarian and had the grilled vegetables, which was very tasty. The people I went with had steak, and they said it was cooked to perfection. Good value for great food.
