"Thanks to splashy new hotel openings like Son Net, and handy nonstop flights from United Airlines, this boho-glam European island is gaining in prominence. If you want to mingle with the fashpack, consider Ca's Xorc, a onetime olive mill, all stone walls and heavy wooden beams in the hills between the charming twin towns of Sóller and Deia. (Claudia Schiffer hosted her 30th birthday at the hotel.)" - Mark Ellwood

Ca's Xorc Adults Only Luxury Retreat outside of Soller on Mallorca describes itself as a hidden gem, and after staying there for the most perfect three days, we could not agree more. Two years ago, a friend drove us up the Tramuntana Mountains to Ca's Xorc for a drink. They graciously insisted on opening a superior bottle of Cava for us even though we only wanted 3 glasses, and I have always wanted to return.||Ca's Xorc is beautifully landscaped with nooks to find privacy scattered throughout the property. The view of the mountains and distant sea from our private terrace was so spectacular we went out several times in the middle of the night to look at the stars. The cuisine from Barretes Restaurant on the property was above what we hoped. I could write a page alone describing entree selections such as the fresh wide noodles with lobster and burrata not to be surpassed by truly unique desserts such as a hot and cold chocolate concoction with white chocolate "crackers" adorning the top. But beyond this, and an essential requirement for us, was the staff. Not just competent and helpful, but with a genuine warmth wanting to do everything possible to ensure we enjoy our visit. There are not words to say how much Carina at reception enhanced our stay. David, the Restaurant Manger accommodated every request. Our standards are high and we could not recommend this hotel retreat more highly. ||As an aside, we took the Mallorca-Menorca 1 hr 15 minutes fast ferry to Ciutadella on the neighboring island of Menorca for a few days, which is easy and a more than rewarding side trip.

We were blown away from the minute we arrived, the staff are very attentive and helpful. Breakfast is perfect, lots of good quality choices in beautiful surroundings, The infinity pool (a tad cold) had breathtaking views. If you fancy a warmer dip there is a nice secluded jacuzzi. We knew beforehand the accommodation isn’t the easiest to access by car. There were 6 of us, so we needed 2 cabs. We ate at the restaurant on our 1st night. Amazing food, excellent service must give a mention to David. I would highly recommend a short break here, we stayed for 3 nights. During our stay we visited Fornulux, Deia, Sóller from Sóller we got the tram to the port (9 euros) Just note the accommodation is not suitable for the less mobile. All in all it exceeded our expectations and we would return in a heartbeat.

Had an incredible stay at Ca’s Xorc during part of our honeymoon. We stayed in the “deluxe room” that had some of the most stunning views of the whole trip. Highly recommend getting this room because it has its own rooftop terrace. The gardens are property are stunning and maintained well. Pictures do not do it justice. The food and service is also great, all the staff were so so nice. I do recommend renting a small car because the roads to reach the hotel are essentially switchbacks but it’s all part of the fun. The location was also incredible. Staying just outside of Soller was amazing and only a 15 minute drive to the port. We did a lot of day trips to near by beaches, the island is so small that you can get across in about an hour and a half. There’s also trails on the property - a walking trail that takes you all the way to Deia or to the port.

Ca’s Xorc is a luxury retreat with great eye for details. Tasteful without being snobbish or vulgar, which I feel is common in other luxury hotels. Ca’s Xorc just feels genuine! We spent a few days on our honeymoon here, 10 years ago, and returned for our anniversary this year. The staff were all very engaged in making us feel special and made our stay a magic experience!

If you are in between choosing this hotel because the picture-perfect backdrop in the photos are beautiful, but you’re not convinced the hotel is as luxurious as you would expect on a relaxing holiday at this price, don’t book. Book the more expensive hotel with the comfortable bed and breakfast buffet. I promise it will be worth it in comparison to this place. |No doubt the hotel is situated beautifully. The garden and terrace is reminiscent of a classical Spanish villa set high with far reaching and colourful views. The problem is the hotel calls itself a ‘Luxury Retreat,’ which it cannot claim. The amenities are scarce, the rooms extremely old fashioned, pokey with no investment made into comfortable bedding or the bed itself. The breakfast is limited and not edible. There is a skeleton staff manning the concierge but other than that, not much else to provide. The hotel provides the bare minimum and relies solely on the views for good reviews and drawing guests. The service was poor and unwelcoming from most (not all). We later realised that the restaurant, which was popular each night, is run separately to the hotel itself. Therefore I cannot comment on the restaurant as we did not eat there but the setting is lovely. |It was a bitty, uncomfortable, and underwhelming hotel operation and it falls at a price-range in which its just a bit too much for little when you could pay more for a lot better value. |

Saw some bad reviews on this place which made me nervous. We booked it just based off the pics of the view. Turns out the pics don't do it justice, this is the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. Very rustic in the mountains with no other buildings around it. It's in the intersection of a few hiking paths. Service was awesome. Everyone was attentive and solved problems quickly. Food was insane. Amazing patio with amazing breakfast and dinner. I see complaints about the road up. It's not a big deal, just get a small car.

Incredible views, beautiful gardens and the most picturesque terrace for lunch/ dinner! We had ceviche and shared the whole sea bass and felt both the food and quality of service was fantastic.

The garden and setting are honestly spectacular, better than the jardin d'alfabia. We enjoyed the hotel's beauty to the full - except for the pool which was freezing cold. The road up is difficult but we managed it, even in our oversize car (damn Europcar with its upgrade!) The main road is more dangerous, really, with buses coming round the hairpin bends aggressively. We had to come to a sudden stop with the driver's side inches from the bus and got rear ended, but that was better than bus vs. car. You can walk on the well signed path to Soller (two miles) and the other one to Port de Soller. They should market the place as an indulgent night to hikers on the Ruta de Pedra Sec. But they would need something simpler and cheaper on the menu. Drinks on the terrace were superb but the restaurant simply didn't work for us because I don't eat beef and my husband doesn't care for it and is allergic to fish. I'm sure it's good because the breakfast was tasty, but it all looked over complicated to us. We could have asked for a vegetarian option but if you have to ask, it indicates that you're an exception and the chef isn't really into vegetarian food. Service was good. It's an old and wonderful building and they keep it all in good shape. Carina was the best. She really made us feel welcome. And the young male waiters were cheerful. We stayed three nights. I described it as average value for money because it's not cheap and excellent because it's exceptionally beautiful.
