We really enjoyed two nights at the hotel after arriving in San José at the beginning of our Costa Rica trip. Spacious clean room with tasteful decoration and a beautiful view into the garden. Cosy common areas with seamless transition to the green outside. Very delicious food, we had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel, freshly made for us. Friendly and helpful staff.

Beautiful and serene boutique hotel near San Jose but away from the hustle and bustle and craziness of the downtown area. Located in an upscale shopping burb, this 5-room oasis is an excellent location for a night or two stopover either arriving in Costa Rica or right before leaving. The service is outstanding with a special shout out to concierge and waiter Marcos who made us feel at home from the get go. The restaurant for dinner served us a gourmet worthy three course meal with excellent wines and the gallo pinto breakfast the next morning with coffee and fresh watermelon/ginger juice was outstanding. Peaceful, walkable location close to some nice shops and cafes. Very highly recommended!

We stayed here for the last night of our honeymoon in Costa Rica and were so pleased we did. It is a very unique B&B. Almost like you’re stepping into a modern art collectors home ! It is situated on a private road (some cab drivers get confused so just be aware you’ll need to give a car registration to the guard to be let in) - every room is unique and whilst it’s not cheap its a special experience. We just wanted somewhere to relax and to just enjoy the local area the following day before we left for our flight. The garden is lovely and there are rocking chairs to sit and relax in. The local area is a bit spaced out but there are a mix of restaurants, boutiques and cafes. Be aware this is not downtown San Jose so quite quiet but that’s what we wanted after a busy few weeks. Stylish and comfortable and the manager was very kind and helpful.

Lovely little quiet boutique hotel in a great location. Large comfortable beds and pillows. Delicious private dinner upon reservation. Secure parking. You can walk to enjoy coffee, shopping, dinner, etc. Very well designed, it feels like home away from home. Excellent service and attention to every little detail as well.

I would definitely recommend Casa 41 in San Jose. We stayed here one night upon arrival to Costa Rica. The rooms are large, clean, an stylish, and the garden and common area is stunning. We were given nice robes as well. ||The hotel was very easy to find, a quick drive from the airport. The neighborhood felt safe and it was near trendy restaurants like Jaguar Negra. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We were given welcome drinks and snacks when we visited the hotel bar. ||Overall a great choice for San Jose. Thank you to the friendly staff that patiently interpreted my horrible Spanish.

We loved the accommodations and service at this quaint house/hotel. The bed was very comfortable and a private outdoor sitting space outside our room was a nice addition. Dinner and breakfast were excellent and the staff was accommodating to my wife’s gluten-free diet. Great service all around!

After 11 days of Costa Rican travel we arrived at Casa 41 in the late afternoon. Look no further for a place to stay in the San Jose area. The place is beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming. This is a hidden gem. We like small intimate places that feel like home and Casa 41, was everything we could ask for. Make sure you have dinner onsite. It was incredible. During COVID we had the place to ourselves and everything was done to ensure that cleanliness was a top priority. In fact, that was the case through out CR. ||We will definitely be back here! A shout out to John for his great service during our time at Casa 41. ||FYI. It was about a 30 min ride to the airport. Very easy drive.
