Casa Amora Studio Apartments, Amoreiras, Lisbon, Portugal - Explore & Book

"Seeing the ‘real Lisbon’ is a term that gets thrown about, but these charming studio apartments really encapsulate that experience. Set in the quiet, cobbled neighbourhood of Amoreiras, metres from a leafy square and just 20 minutes’ walk from downtown, Casa Amora pays homage to national culture by dedicating each of its 4 studios to a different Portuguese artist or iconic figure, such as movie director Manoel de Oliveira or the extraordinary Sao Tomean painter-cum-writer José de Almada Negreiros. Owner Luis traded in a successful graphic-design business to set up this charismatic hideaway, and traces of his artistic flair are evident throughout, from silkscreen portraits by artist Leonel Moura to modern statement pieces that complement the vintage flea-market furniture. He and his partner are the perfect hosts, meeting you on arrival and sharing their personal recommendations of what to do in the city (all top-notch). A great option for those happy to skip hotel-style service and communal spaces, in return for an independent live-like-a-local ethos... and great value, too! Highs Tranquil Amoreiras is away from the hustle and bustle, yet has easy access to the city centre by metro or foot The small team treats you like friends and is on hand at any time Plenty of privacy and independence, with sitting areas, sofabeds, kitchenettes and balconies We love the authentic neighbourhood eateries nearby Great value compared to a full-service hotel Lows There are no common spaces, nor any food and drink provided Although the neighbourhood is quiet, light sleepers might find the street-facing rooms a little noisy The steep staircases aren’t suitable for very young children or the less mobile There have been some recent gripes about minor plumbing issues and musty smells in the bathrooms" - Clemmy Manzo

We stayed at Casa Amora Studios in October 2024 and stayed again in June 2025 on another trip to Lisbon because the service, location, and studios are all so wonderful. First, Paulo, who runs the hotel, is extremely friendly, responsive, and puts in a lot of effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible. He provides fantastic recommendations for things to see and do in and around Lisbon. He’s just fantastic to work with. Second, the location is really wonderful. Right next to a beautiful park, steps away from a grocery store and metro station, and within a 15 minute walk to major attractions. There are also restaurants and cafes around. Finally, each studio is uniquely and individually decorated, and has its own personality. They are very homey and comfortable, and equipped with dishes, a coffee machine, and mini fridges. Overall, we very highly recommend Casa Amora Studios to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming stay in a wonderful location in Lisbon.

Casa Amora is a fabulous haven in Lisbon. Paulo, Abishek & Bibek look after guests wonderfully - delivering a beautifully presented and varied box full of delicious breakfast delights each morning and providing lots of brilliant recommendations. The duplex suite was very stylishly decorated and comfortable, with everything you need - including lovely local soaps. Lots of lovely touches. Paulo’s fabulous map showing his favourite places to see, the best pastel de natas (absolute heaven), great restaurants and interesting local shops, really helped make our stay so special. His recommended restaurants were all fantastic and filled with locals. The location is great - adjoining a charming square in the Amoreiras neighbourhood, not touristy, a short walk to the metro/other good public transport and about 15-20 minutes walk to the Principe Real. We really look forward to returning to Casa Amora soon. A great find.

Once again my research paid off, we were both so very happy with the choice of staying out of the city centre, as it always does. Arriving directly from the international airport via the metro system we were given the most delightful and unexpected welcome by Paulo at 2100, after being given instructions and tips for our five night stay in the studio apartment Paulo took us outside for a small tour of the immediate neighbourhood, a wonderful start to our vacation. |Our ground floor apartment had all the amenities that we needed for self-catering if we so chose. Each morning we looked forward to the knock on the door at our preferred time for the delivery of our breakfast supplies in a wooden crate, we did not go hungry. The bed was comfortable, the room could be darkened sufficiently and air-con worked well for a pleasant night sleep. Street noise was minimal but we chose to sleep with the windows closed and air-con on for the best solution. Across from the apartment building was a delightful shady park were the locals congregated at the park cafe while children played in the playground. We enjoyed it also. It was a real treat to also see a remaining section of the Aqueduct and Water Reservior. A short walk away from the apartment was a supermarket, further on were bars, restaurants, public transport options, gelato and more. The walk into the centre took about thirty minutes, a great way to discover a new destionation. We would stay here again without hesitation.

I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Casa Amora! Paulo was kind to meet me, gave me an orientation of my studio and provided great tips during my stay in Lisbon. Breakfast was lovely and Paulo was just a text away if I had any questions. ||The neighborhood is charming and there is a cute bar next door. I loved that the neighborhood was quiet and residential. ||I met Paulo on my birthday and he was so nice to toast the day to a glasses of Portuguese white wine. :)||Highly recommend!

Loved staying at Casa Amora. The location is great, really close to the metro and far enough away from the main centre so you get some peace, really felt like I was more of a local than a tourist. Supermarket is really close by and the little park is a perfect spot to enjoy. The studio was really well decorated and I loved having the mezzanine to separate the bedroom in the space. Very clean. I was grateful that I could opt out of the breakfast option as I prefer that. The team were super responsive to any questions. I can’t wait to stay here again.

Great little apartment with everything we needed. Lovely breakfast and always delivered at the time requested. Nice quiet area near a park and kiosk (for coffee, drinks, and snacks). Nice little local bar just steps from the apartment (not noisy). Garbage in the area seems to be picked up fairly late at night and can be a bit noisy, but only lasts a couple of minutes; not a problem.

I'd highly recommend Casa Amora! The apartment is comfortable, clean, well decorated and with all the important amenities working well (ac, internet, water temp). Breakfast was included - it was delicious and fresh delivered in quaint picnic box each morning. The location is awesome as you're in a neighborhood that has a local feel. Our host, Lulis, was incredible and shared recommendations without being overbearing. Traveling with two other girlfriends, we got in very late at 2 am after multiple delays and Lulis was there to cheerily greet us and make us feel safe in our new accommodation! This place is a GEM!

I was happy to be able to call Casa Amora home in Lisbon for a few nights. I had a late arrival but Paulo met me outside the studio to help me get settled late at night. He showed me around the accommodation, the neighbourhood, and gave me recommendations on where to visit. The studio comes equipped with everything you need and was fairly clean. The A/C works great to keep you cool from the humid and sunny Lisbon weather and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was simple, nothing fancy, but always delivered on time and kept me energized for a lot of walking during the day. Paulo was also very responsive during my stay and was quick to answer any questions, and Abishek was quick to arrive to my door if I needed anything. Would definitely stay here again once I am back in Lisbon. Obrigado!
