Casa Amora STUDIOS, a Design Boutique Hotel Lisbon, Portugal

"Situated in Praça das Amoreiras, in Lisbon, Casa Amora is a typical building of Lisbon’s early 20th century petite bourgeoisie. It features a small outdoor patio, and free Wi-Fi. This bed and breakfast offers spacious air-conditioned rooms with an iPod docking station. Each room pays homage to one of the great figures of Portuguese art. Guests can start their day with a rich breakfast buffet, before exploring the surrounding area. There are also many restaurants and bars nearby the property. Casa Amora is located in one of the most central districts of Lisbon, close to Bairro Alto and Chiado. Avenida da Liberdade and its fashion shops, as well as the shopping center Amoreiras, are all within walking distance." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

Casa Amora Studio Apartments, Amoreiras, Lisbon, Portugal - Explore & Book

"Seeing the ‘real Lisbon’ is a term that gets thrown about, but these charming studio apartments really encapsulate that experience. Set in the quiet, cobbled neighbourhood of Amoreiras, metres from a leafy square and just 20 minutes’ walk from downtown, Casa Amora pays homage to national culture by dedicating each of its 4 studios to a different Portuguese artist or iconic figure, such as movie director Manoel de Oliveira or the extraordinary Sao Tomean painter-cum-writer José de Almada Negreiros. Owner Luis traded in a successful graphic-design business to set up this charismatic hideaway, and traces of his artistic flair are evident throughout, from silkscreen portraits by artist Leonel Moura to modern statement pieces that complement the vintage flea-market furniture. He and his partner are the perfect hosts, meeting you on arrival and sharing their personal recommendations of what to do in the city (all top-notch). A great option for those happy to skip hotel-style service and communal spaces, in return for an independent live-like-a-local ethos... and great value, too! Highs Tranquil Amoreiras is away from the hustle and bustle, yet has easy access to the city centre by metro or foot The small team treats you like friends and is on hand at any time Plenty of privacy and independence, with sitting areas, sofabeds, kitchenettes and balconies We love the authentic neighbourhood eateries nearby Great value compared to a full-service hotel Lows There are no common spaces, nor any food and drink provided Although the neighbourhood is quiet, light sleepers might find the street-facing rooms a little noisy The steep staircases aren’t suitable for very young children or the less mobile There have been some recent gripes about minor plumbing issues and musty smells in the bathrooms" - Clemmy Manzo

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Amora Studios. The apartment was spacious, beautifully decorated and everything you could possibly need was available. The furnishings were all comfortable and the kitchenette area included all the essentials coffee maker, fridge, microwave etc. |Our host, Paulo, gave us a lovely welcome and gave us a very helpful overview of the local area which includes a pretty park just opposite the apartment with a kiosk serving drinks and delicious snacks. The gardens are lovely for a warm evening stroll and all the local people we met were so friendly and welcoming. |The apartment is so well placed for getting to other areas of the city. We felt we had a more authentic experience living outside the very busy centre whilst still enjoying excellent local restaurants and amenities. There are even two very good museum/galleries in the square including the old silk factory which has been wonderfully restored.|Many thanks to the whole team at Casa Amora we had a brilliant stay and would highly recommend this lovely apartment to anyone seeking a quiet, homely stay enjoying Portuguese hospitality.

Casa Amora exceeded our expectations. The updated studio was charming, fashionably furnished and comfortable in every way. The kitchen was small, but we did not feel the need to cook during the few days we were there. For longer stays, that might be something a visitor would need. The location was good for us, near 2 museums, a couple of restaurants and delightful park. We were easily able to access public transportation from our address. Paulo and Abishek were helpful and informative and catered to our needs. We would highly recommend staying here.

Casa Amora Studio was a great apartment for our 3 day stay in Lisbon. The location is very central and we were able to walk to many of the highlights. There are many local cafe's and restaurants for eating options as well as a medium sized supermarket. We found the bed very comfortable and the air conditioning kept the temp nice and comfortable. The bathroom was modern and the shower was great for washing off the dust from a big day of sightseeing. Our host was a great communicator and was waiting for us when we arrived by vehicle transfer from the airport.

Wonderful, quiet, and central! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A cozy, practical little place that feels very homely with its nice decor and a bed bigger than average in Portugal. The location is perfect: a charming square at the doorstep, restaurants around the corner, and just 100m from the center – yet still peaceful. Communication was great, and we’d definitely return. The kitchen is a bit small for serious cooking, but with Lisbon’s amazing food, you won’t miss it!

Thank you, Paulo and Abishek, for taking such great care of us during our latest stay (our second with you!). You were very kind to meet me late at night when my flight was delayed and to give us great recommendations on local places to eat and drink. The apartment is beautifully furnished and situated in a leafy square away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist districts (but still close enough to walk everywhere). We'll no doubt see you again when we return to Lisbon!

Casa Amora Studios is a gem. The neighborhood is lovely, the place was great and Paolo was a thoughtful and friendly host who anticipated all our questions. Located on a lovely small park, Casa Amora Studios is also a breath of peace and quiet in the midst of bustling Lisbon. It was close to public transportation and easy to walk just about everywhere we wanted to go.

Paulo was an amazing host – always responsive and helpful. The apartment was spotless, well-located, and had everything we needed. We loved the welcome drinks and the map with local tips. After three nights, fresh towels, linens, and cleaning were provided, which was a great touch. We stayed six nights and everything exceeded our expectations – highly recommended!

We stayed at Casa Amora Studios in October 2024 and stayed again in June 2025 on another trip to Lisbon because the service, location, and studios are all so wonderful. First, Paulo, who runs the hotel, is extremely friendly, responsive, and puts in a lot of effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible. He provides fantastic recommendations for things to see and do in and around Lisbon. He’s just fantastic to work with. Second, the location is really wonderful. Right next to a beautiful park, steps away from a grocery store and metro station, and within a 15 minute walk to major attractions. There are also restaurants and cafes around. Finally, each studio is uniquely and individually decorated, and has its own personality. They are very homey and comfortable, and equipped with dishes, a coffee machine, and mini fridges. Overall, we very highly recommend Casa Amora Studios to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming stay in a wonderful location in Lisbon.
