Casa Andina Standard Trujillo Plaza

I spent three nights at this hotel. The location, a block away from the Plaza de Armas (city center), could not be better. As a Casa Andina property, it has a great Peruvian ambiance. My room was comfortable, and all the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. I would especially like to thank Jesse in the hotel restaurant. Although Trujillo is unusual among Peruvian cities in that it does not allow mototaxis, the front desk staff helped me to schedule a 4 am taxi pickup the night before my departure.

Considering how much I travel, I don't write as many hotel reviews as you would think. Most of my trips are on the longer side, so I tend to look for short term rentals more than hotels. However, my trip to Trujillo was only for the weekend, and I chose to stay at The Standard. In summary, it was a great choice, but keep reading to find out why. Check-in want as smooth as I would have like, butt that's more than likely my fault. Before my arrive, I received a communication offering an expedited check-in, I just didn't accept it. I tend to think of the check-in process as a learning experience, and this one definitely qualified as such. The staff was knowledgeable about the entire hotel, but when explaining the tax on the room, I was able to learn something new. I'm sure they thought I didn't understand the Spanish, but I was simply confused by the policy. Apparently, Peru uses the amount of time you have been in the country to help them determine how much tax to add on the room. I eventually found the fine print in the paperwork for my reservation, I just provided the Gen Z stare when explained in real time. Outside of the check-in, it was one of the best hotel stays I've ever had. The location is convenient for those visiting the Main Plaza, which is where all the action takes place, and is surrounded by a variety of restaurants. The room was clean, including some pretty innovative energy saving techniques (like requiring a room key in the AC for operation, so you can't leave it on when no one is in the room), and a very comfortable bed. The shower was particular satisfying, with three different shower options available from the same unit. There is Directv in the room, just in case you decide to stay-in, and the hotel also offers a restaurant and massage service. Speaking of the restuarant... Breakfast is included with some room types, and I would definitely recommend it. It was legit, the best breakfast I've had at anything other than a five star accommodation. As a bonus the check-in and check out times are more accommodating that other hotels, at 2 pm and 12 pm respectively. Outside of my small complaint about no free lotion in the room, it was flawless.

What a beautiful hotel!!! Do not be afraid to stay here at all!!! Gym, breakfast! Great place! I live in Miami, FL and this hotel would be 5 stars here too! The breakfast is amazing! The front desk service is spectacular! Gym is more than serviceable!!!!

The staff were very welcoming and offered us a better room and also prepared a few cakes for us because they could see that we were newly married. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely stay here again. Everyone is so friendly,

We stayed here for a business trip the hotel was clean with friendly staff with a good breakfast. Elvis in the restaurant did a wonderful job and deserves special recognition. Its well located near the plaza de armas. Thanks for a great stay casa andina.

A spur of a moment trip, arrived in Trujillo and came directly to Casa Andina, lucky to find an available room despite the high demand due to an international conference. Ms Eliana was very accommodating during the check-in process and the room was very comfortable, although the bathroom is quite small. Breakfast the following morning was very good. Receptionists are very helpful. Highly recommended hotel
