Interesting home/hotel. Clean, walking distance to the romantic zone, our room was spacious and polite service. You have to have a good orientation sense to be able to find your room. If you are not in a good physical condition, that is not the right place for you due to the high amount of stairs. I found it risky to leave the home walking as there's not enough space on the sidewalk and the cars pass too close and too fast that it feels unsafe. Even worse if you need to cross the highway. I am still wondering the reason of a lighted, light bulb , inside of the fridge. You could feel the heat of the light inside the fridge. No Air conditioning in our room. Even when they have different wifi connections, couldn't connect to any of them. According to the location and amenities we found the place pricy.

Let's start with the good : Great view, short walk to the beach and the Molecon etc. Now what you can expect for the above..... 1)=VERY NOISY STREET 2)= COLD SHOWERS 3)=DIRTY ROOMS,MOIST WHITE WASH CLOTH TURNS BLACK WHEN YOU WIPE EVERY WHERE IN THE ROOM, ON TOP OF REFRIGERATOR, COUNTER TOPS, KITCHEN ETC 4)= ONLY DETAIL YOUR ROOM EVERY 3 DAYS , I WAS THERE FOR WEEKS. 5)= ELECTRIC FAN QUIT WORKING, THEY FIXED AND LEFT THE MESS THERE. 6)= GAS STOVE DID NOT WORK THEY DID FIX. OUT OF GAS THE LAST DAY I WAS THERE AND DID NOT OFFER ANYTHING FOR OUR INCOVIENCE. 7)=FRONT DESK CLOSES AROUND 8:00 P.M. AND GOOD LOOK IF YOU NEED ANYTHING.... 8)= HOPE YOU ARE SHORTER THAN 5'-5" TALL. IF YOU ARE TALLER THAN THAT BETTER PAY ATTENTION OR YOU WILL HIT YOUR HEAD ON MANY LOW OBJECTS ETC. 9)=NO ELEVADOR SO YOU WILL BE CLIMBING HUNDREDS OF STEPS EVERYDAY... 10)-STREET IS VERY BUSY AND DANGERIUS TO CROSS. 11)= HOSPITAL IS COUPLE OF BLOCKS AWAY SO EXPECT TO HEAR SIRONS AVERAGE TWICE A DAY OR MORE... 12)= I STORED MY CHANGE IN THERE TIP JAR AND LADY WENT OFF ON ME HOW SHE WANTS PAPER (CASH) NO COINS.. 13)=NOT A PLACE WE WOULD CHOOSE TO STAY AGAIN... 14)FRONT DESK (HER NAME K) WAS VERY RUDE AND WANTED ME TO LEAVE A TIP FOR HER MAIDS , I TRIED TO EXPLAIN THE ANOVE TO K, AND SHE DID NOT WANT TO HEAR IT. I SAID I WILL GIVE YOU A TIP))) CHARGE WHAT YOU WANT AND NEVER ASK FOR A TIP $$$$$$$ WOULD NOT STAY HERE IF THEY PAID MY AIRFARE, THE COST OF THE ROOM, ALL MY UBER COSTS, AND KEPT THE REFRIGERATOR FULL......the owner was very nice and the men that worked there were very nice...

Positive: The location and the view were the best part of the hotel. Negative: The stairs were a lot, especially for my older mother. They bed was extremely uncomfortable and you could feel the springs in the mattress. I have had better sleep on a sleeper sofa. There was no AC, when it said there was. Deposit for key and "safe." Negative: ""

Wifi sucks, no hot water and no AC. Close up Zona Romántica though

Too Long, Didn’t Read: Would NOT stay here again. Not all rooms have AC so beware! Way too many stairs and no elevators. WiFi doesn’t work inside the rooms. ||Our first room had NO AC, our view was okay but we could see other balconies and they were so close. There was no privacy. So we got lucky and paid to upgrade to a room with AC or else we probably would’ve left.||Bathrooms have “windows” which are just openings that don’t close so your privacy isn’t great. Rooms are old. Depending on your room your balcony will be in direct view and proximity of other balconies. The area is okay it’s central to the Romantic Zone and close to the beach but it’s by a road with lots of traffic so it can be dangerous to cross.||There’s better hotels in PV especially for the price.

Cold shower. Rude front desk. Slow internet. Loud street. Puerto Vallarta is a frequent travel destination because I love the city and supporting it's people. I tolerate much but draw the line with rude service workers and ice cold showers. The front desk woman at Casa Anita needs to find employment doing anything other than working with the public. I cannot remember the last time I met someone so venomous for seemingly no reason. Sadly, it wasn't one bad day because she was equally as rude during check-out. Casa Anita is located next to a loud and busy street that is not pedestrian-friendly. The shower was FREEZING COLD no matter how long I let the water run, and the shower wouldn't drain. I stood in ankle-high cold water while I rushed to wash my hair and face. The internet is slow and unreliable (but that is the case in several of the hotels). I will say this: the view from my room was gorgeous. Lastly, do not stay here if you cannot climb stairs! It was a very high and very long hike to my room.

This hotel was a nightmare. Book here if you want to WORK while on vacation! Lol we booked a super nice hotel on the beach the first 4 days of our trip then booked this one the last 3 days. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by literally 100 stairs. Our first room had no AC? We said absolutely not and went to get another room with AC. When we got to the room we were out of breathe from all the stairs. If someone is elderly or out of shape please DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Every time we left our room we had to walk so many stairs. The room itself was also disgusting. It was out dated. The bathroom had an open area window thing where someone could see you while you’re on the toilet. The shower looked nasty and so was the bathroom floor. I couldn’t believe how gross everything was but we just embraced it and knew we could check out soon. There was also some kind of stains on both towels so that’s nice. Please don’t stay here as there are so many other normal nice updates hotels

Google
It's hard to rate this place. It's basically a 5 star three star hotel , if you get my drift. We love it but there are some caveats. It's on a noisy busy road so is very noisy during the day but quiet at night. There are a ton of stairs and I do mean a lot if stairs. But I would say one of the better values for money. It's a 7 minute walk to the beach. The staff is great.

Yelp
Deciding where to stay when visiting Puerto Vallarta was no easy task, but when I found Casa Anita I was sure this was it! There were so many positives features about Casa Anita including the location, classic Mexican feel, and fair pricing that made it an easy choice for my boyfriend and I. On my first visit to PV, I stayed in Zona Romantica and I absolutely loved it. Zona Romantica has several attractions from the adorable local shops to the weekend farmer's market, and it is an all-around wonderful place. A lot of great stores and restaurants are within walking distance of Casa Anita, and if not they are no more than a $100 peso taxi ride away. It takes about 5 minutes to get to the beach, and 10 to get to our favorite taco restaurant. When you are booking your room, there are several choices you can make as far as the size of the room. We just went with a deluxe suite with one king bed in it. You can get rooms with 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms if you need, though. Our rate was $80 USD a night, and for what we received in terms of service and our room it was a great price. We had air conditioning, a view of the ocean from our balcony, free purified water, daily housekeeping, and an overall comfortable yet spacious room. It came with a full kitchen with a blender and toaster and a nice little dining area, too. The shower was huge and had cute hand-painted floral tiles giving it a classic feel. Outside were two pools, one was heated and one was not heated, but a pool is a pool! One thing to make note of is that there was no elevator, but a lot of steps to travel as Casa Anita is built into a hillside. A lot of steps are not a bad thing for me, but it may be difficult for some guests. The property is secured by a large door that is locked at night, but guests have the code to open it. Overall, we loved our stay at Casa Anita and were sad to see it come to an end. We experienced a cancelled flight at the end of our trip and had to extend our stay by a day, but it was no hassle. The staff was always friendly and accommodating, and we felt like we were at our home away from home. Where you stay can really make or break your vacation, and in this case it made our vacation even better than expected!

Yelp
Oh, man, this is a tough one. The good. Housekeeping. The maid we dealt with was a sweetheart. Quick, clean and efficient. Nice to talk to and very friendly. A great employee. Location. A really short walk down to the beach, bars, restaurants. Although, the road is pretty damn scary to cross. Now, the bad. Lots to read, sorry. Wifi- ridiculously bad, so forget about doing a little work while you're there. Customer service. We were with another couple, and after a couple days in the 2 bed, 2 bath unit, we had to leave to a 2 bed, 1 bath unit because of an electrical issue in the first unit. The smell was unbearable, and gave me bad throat pain. The office manager couldn't care less that it was a big inconvenience for us. A good manager would have offered a small discount for our unit or some local restaurants. Basically what we got was, 'deal with it'. The pools? Ice baths. They were WAY too cold to hang out in. The road is really loud, but it's not their fault, honestly. Just really hard to hang outside and trying to have a nice conversation with your friends. Oh, ants! Yep, ants in the kitchen! Beds. Pretty old and not very comfortable. Would we stay again? Hell, no. Sad, because with the right people it could be a wonderful place.

Yelp
Watch your possessions. There aren't "Do not disturb signs" to hang outside your door and the housekeepers seem sketchy. My two bedroom suite had lights without bulbs and a toilet missing a toilet seat. Binoculars went missing here.

Yelp
Casa Anita is an absolute disappointment, and I genuinely can't understand how it's still in business. The Only Redeeming Factor? Housekeeping. The only positive thing about this place is the housekeeping staff. They somehow manage to keep the hotel clean, despite it being old, outdated, and in desperate need of renovation. They're friendly, but unfortunately, no amount of kindness can make up for how terrible this place is overall. Horrible Management The manager, Karen, is downright awful. Cold, unfriendly, and completely lacking in personality--she makes the entire stay uncomfortable from check-in to check-out. She gives off major Nurse Ratched vibes, and it's a mystery how Casa Anita survives with someone like her representing them. Rooms Are Depressing & Unlivable    *   The rooms are dark and dreary, with no windows since the hotel is built into a mountainside.    *   Furniture is ancient and uncomfortable--clearly nothing has been updated in decades.    *   The kitchen appliances are a joke--our toaster didn't even work, and the pots and pans are so cheap that dollar store cookware feels luxurious in comparison.    *   No ice trays were provided, so forget about having ice. Pools? More Like Ice Baths    *   The pools are completely useless--they're in the shade all day, so the water is freezing cold.    *   The lounge chairs are nasty and falling apart.    *   Pool towels? Not provided. Useless Amenities    *   The TVs are ancient--first-generation LED models that only get one channel. The remotes don't work, so you're stuck using the buttons on the TV itself.    *   Wi-Fi is an absolute nightmare--half the networks they give you don't even exist, and the rest are so slow they constantly disconnect. Non-Stop Noise    *   If you value sleep, don't stay here. The road in front of the hotel is the only road south, and the noise is constant and unbearable. Final Verdict? Avoid at All Costs Casa Anita is a complete disaster--from the rude manager to the horrible amenities, outdated rooms, and awful location. The only people worth appreciating are the housekeeping staff, but they're not enough to make up for this miserable experience. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

Yelp
Very private. Very upscale. Super helpful staff! WATCH OUT 4 the stairs! Safe area overlooking the city. Really comfy bed!

Yelp
It was the worst experience in a very long time for me. First, if you go to their website, the very front page states a/c as an amenity. Then you book your room. Did I look at the fine print when seeing if the room had a/c? no, why would I because it already said they had it. So yes, I get to my room, and no a/c. The manager acted as if this was the first time she has ever received this complaint, yet on other sites, such as hotels.com, there are many more just like it. Second, the room didn't have any electrical outlets near the bed, NONE! We both have CPAPs and need them for health reasons. I explained this to the same manager, and she said she didn't have any electrical extension cords. We had to sleep the opposite direction on the bed with our CPAPs barely reaching the outlet near the front door (that was the closest). Third, I decided to come back to my room during the afternoon to rest, only to find it wide opened and the lock in pieces on the floor. Did the same manager try and contact me? Of course not. In regards to all of my concerns, here is what she said: First, if you look at the NEXT page on the website, I didn't book the room with a/c. On the second page, after the first saying it had it. Second, when checking out, there were extension cords in her office. I asked the same exact manager why she didn't let us use those, and she said they were for her maintenance crew and that I should go buy my own. She even said electrical outlets weren't stated in the booking, so she didn't have to guarantee them! Third, the same exact manager said she had no way of contacting me about repairing my lock. Wait, again, she lied because she had my info when checking in and during the reservation process. After getting back to the States, she refused to refund any monies. I wasn't asking for all. She then stated, which I have in written email from her, that she RECORDED our conversation, both audio and video! Did she ask for my permission? NO! Very creepy management. Do yourself a favor, do not stay here, you will be very disappointed.

Yelp
Staff & view were wonderful! Stayed in the presidential suite with 6 people , we had no phone in the room and continually had to request the basics .... towels, TP, soap, wash cloths. It was very frustrating!! The suite is stocked with no paper towels or napkins, one garbage can in the kitchen that's typically full within an hour, way too small for a 3 bedroom suite.
