"More than a than a green island with fancy terrace and Lebanese restaurant in the middle of the road, Casa Árabe is a bridge between Spanish and Arabic culture. Two worlds that have cohabited for many years, as our music, language and skin type can testimony. Here is the place for culture in a large sense." - id.real

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Casa Árabe is a truly special cultural space in Madrid. The exhibitions are powerful, beautifully curated, and full of meaning — from traditional art and everyday life scenes to modern installations addressing current struggles and stories of displacement. The building itself is stunning, and the gardens provide a peaceful escape from the city and sun. A must-visit for anyone interested in art, history, and understanding different cultures on a deeper level. The Taysir Batniji exhibition was particularly inspiring . Highly recommended for a meaningful and inspiring experience!

I visited Casa Árabe to see Cómic palestino: Voces propias, grito colectivo and it was an incredible experience. The space itself is beautiful—thoughtfully curated and welcoming. The exhibit was powerful and moving, and the service was fantastic. I also loved the bookstore—such a great selection of thoughtful and unique titles. I felt both held and informed. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Madrid.

I like the idea, the message, and motive behind the entire institute and believe that its presence is essential in Madrid with the shared history of 800 years of Arabic presence in Iberian Peninsula. I visited the place during the third wave of covid-19, and like every other cultural center in such challenging era, was empty, and sad. However, the style of the building that simulates- in my eyes- “ Giralda” in Seville, the beauty of Arabic calligraphy here and there, and the temporary photographic exhibition, all worth the visit.. which is free of charge.

Casa Árabe Madrid is a cultural center that showcases the diversity and richness of the Arab world. I enjoyed the exhibitions, the library, the cinema, and the restaurant. The staff was very helpful and friendly. A must-see for anyone interested in Arab culture.

Very nice little exhibition about the modernism architecture movement in Bagdad during the 50s and 60s. It was very well documented, the pictures are unique and are very precious to understand how it was at that time from the eyes of a local intellectual.

Not open when supposed to be. Outside Cafe nice kitchen closes at 4:30pm so we left. Center itself closed despite signs with hours and events announced (film, exhibit, etc). Really wanted to see Nakba exhibit. Beautiful building. Glad to see the king and queen (yuck) paid for this.... Update: today is an official holiday in Madrid....

This is the cultural approach in Madrid where this house represents the Arab legacy and Intellectual in Spain. It often is busy with many activities. For details check website.

Yelp
Very mediocre food for such great atmosphere, it's a place that has amazing potential because it's next to Retiro park and the Casa itself is so pretty, but the service was extremely slow, and the food was nothing special. Won't be going back here unless it's just to wait a long time for an overpriced drink.
