Casa Balat

Whenever we travel we like to have a few days of quiet in the country, and this place is definitely quiet! The interior design details and the space is really lovely and everything is perfect. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and we also took a daytrip to Ortigia from here, the location is really nice. The team was very gracious to help us organize an additional 2 nights stay which we really appreciated. Would definitely return!

A real home away from home. Nestled in the most beautiful Sicilian landscape, you can enjoy absolute peace and quiet in nature while remaining just a short drive from small villages, breathtaking Baroque cities, great restaurants, and everyday shopping. Casa Balat is one of those special places you almost don’t want to praise too much—just so it stays your little secret ;) but hey, sharing is caring ✨

We spent a wonderful week at Casa Balat at the beginning of May (6 adults and 1 baby) and absolutely loved our stay. The villa was the perfect base for exploring the beautiful southeastern part of Sicily—especially Noto, as well as Ragusa, Modica, Scicli, Marzamemi, and Ortigia, all of which are within easy driving distance. The house itself is stunning—an old farmhouse that has been thoughtfully renovated with elegant, minimalist design and exceptional attention to detail. The rooms are spacious, tastefully furnished, and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped, and we particularly enjoyed the outdoor seating and BBQ area, which became the heart of our evenings. The saltwater pool was a highlight—refreshing, private, and surrounded by a serene garden. It was the perfect place to relax throughout the day before setting off to explore nearby towns and soak in the Sicilian atmosphere. We also truly appreciated the peaceful setting and the surrounding nature. Casa Balat is a very special place—stylish, tranquil, and ideally located. It offers a rare combination of thoughtful design, comfort, and authentic Sicilian charm. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing stay in Sicily.

Must stay if you get the chance. Luca was extremely friendly and responsive - he created a chat group before check-in to help us manage the process. He also had a list of recommendations, which we used to guide our first night in the area! House is peaceful and tidy - all amenities were there as indicated. We had no problem finding it (recommend adding the location earlier as there is limited 4g in the area). Highly recommend.

We loved our stay here. Three generations, the house and outdoor space was perfect. It was private, the rooms were spacious and it is a wonderfully designed eco house. The kitchen and living areas, bedrooms are spacious. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking & dining. Beatrice and her husband were delightful, so helpful and friendly. Get the breakfast option—it is amazing! So delicious and all local foodstuffs. Luca was a responsive host with very good communication. I gave the location 3 stars only because it took longer to drive to other places we wanted to visit, and it was cooler in the hills at that time of year. The house and grounds are excellent—you will want to maximise your time there. We were touring about the area as it was our first time in Sicily. Palazzolo Acreide was a good local centre for groceries and other necessities. People were friendly and it was not too ‘touristy’. Excellent butcher etc. I would highly recommend Casa Balat.

The owners are incredibly friendly and will take great care of you. We have stayed at Casa Balat a couple of times and the experience provides the ultimate pause in the most peaceful setting. Whether practising yoga on the warm polished concrete floor, soaking up the landscape or the wonderful interior curated with a zen simplicity……. its impossible not to leave replenished and lighter. Truly one of the most beautiful house it was given to me to stay in. An architectural gem with seamless work to blend the old and the new. The attention to details is extreme and triggers emotional response to such art. I had. O idea before booking and I was blessed by chance to end up there. I almost didn’t feel like going out and visit but just stay in the surroundings and soak up all the peaceful vibes. Highly recommended to rent the whole place with friends and cut off from busy city life. Thank you for the work !
