We were in Puebla for 4 days and had lunch one day and dinner another at Casa Barroca. Both were wonderful but the dinner more so, mostly because we chose more interesting dishes and our server was nicer. For the dinner I had Aguachile de Pulpo, a wonderful spicy preparation of octopus and habanero peppers. Then for dinner the Parmentier, which was duck confit over mashed plantain with cinnamon, light poblano mole, sesame seeds, verdolagas and peanut powder. Super yummy. Dessert was Dulces Besos, mousse de pinon rosa filled with chocolate cream accompanied by red fruit salad with chamomile and horchata ice cream.
Cocktails, wine, and espresso were also very good.
And the prices were extremely affordable for Americans, and with outstanding quality for the money. Superb service. Beautiful dining rooms.
Very highly recommended.
