Absolutely loved this hostel. We stayed at the start and end of our Colombia trip. The family that run it are lovely people and incredibly helpful. The dog is the best hostel dog you could ever wish for. The free breakfast was great and hostel was always clean. The showers are hot and powerful. The location is ideal. Note, at 11pm they turn off the lights in communal spaces and ask for quiet. We didn't mind this as there are bars close by and it meant people could get some sleep. We would recommend this place

The Casa Bellavista Hostel is located directly in la Candelaria with nice bars and restaurants nearby.||We had a room with windows facing the street, so it was sometimes a bit loud.|Other than that, the room was very nice and clean, we had a bathroom for our own, there were extra blankets for when it was cold. ||The breakfast (eggs, coffee, tea, croissant) is very nice and a good occasion to meet other people! |They also have a cozy common area.||The Hostel staff is super friendly but doesn't speak english (except one), and the street is a bit sketchy at night, I wouldn't recommend going there alone after midnight, especially with luggage.||All in all, we enyojed our stay and got to know a lot of new people! |

In this small hostel, situated in the old town of Bogota we really felt like home. It's a great place to explore the city, the atmosphere is familiar and nice, you get to know other people super quickly and the owners are amazing people! Besides that you get a free very delicious breakfast and there's coffee all day. |We would definitely return to this hostel!

I only had 2 nights in Bogotá and this place is a perfect location for a tourist. Taxi from airport cost 25000 on the way in and 35000 on the way out (on the meter) ||Brekky was good: croissant and freshly made omelette with fresh juice.||The staff really make this place. They are so cute and friendly; even those who didn’t have much English to match my poor Spanish. WiFi is decent. They printed some travel documents for me for 500 pesos per page. ||I had a private room and it was clean enough. I do yoga and there was a bit of dust on the floor, but hey, that’s life. The night lights didn’t work also, and that irritated me. The bed, however, was a bit hard and I had to sleep on a few blankets to make it comfortable. ||It’s a great location if you want to hike the mountain - it took me 2hours 20 minutes door to door the first time.||Also, I loved the free tea and coffee all day long!

It was a little difficult to locate at first and on arrival I wasn't sure what to expect but was very quickly made welcome. The owners almost treat you like family and the downstairs area is almost like being in their home. The upstairs gives you a very different feel and more of that hostel vibe so you get to choose. Facilities include warm beds, hot showers, good clean kitchen, TV and a gorgeous dog to play with.

I had a great week here, fantastic base to explore Bogota and especially la candalaria. The hosts were friendly and gave great advice for anything and they also offered laundry at 3000 per pound. Only downside is that the walls are so thin that you can here everything in bathrooms and from the hangout area upstairs. But this area is great-sofas and a hammock which made for a great social area to make friends!

We stayed in the a private room next to the front door. There was also a spare bed for a 3rd person? and a hammock.|Everything was clean and the beds were made each day. As the nights get cold in Bogota there were additional blankets made out of wool. ||The breakfast (scrambled eggs, Coffee, Hot chocolate, Croissant) was awesome and it was really easy to get in touch with other travellers at the morning table. |Furthermore, the owner of the Hostel and the employees were really friendly and helpful and even negotiated a discout for the Bike tour :) |All the major sites are nearby.|Wifi is working well.||As the hostel is located in a really narrow alley, taxis can't drop you off directly in front of the hostel. We arrived pretty late at night and it was quite sketchy.. The door is locked and you have to ring the bell and wait for somebody to open it. In this time we were harrassed by a beggar. That's the only complaint I have, there is not much the hostel can do about it, but if you're travelling alone, especially as a girl, try to get there during the day.||La Candelaria is really nice in daytime with small bars and restaurants, but take care in the evening and maybe try to go out in groups at night.

My personal opinion I didn’t like it. It’s right in the middle of Candelaria so location is spot on; it’s also well priced and the owners and their big furry German shepherd are lovely. However, the WiFi is absolutely rubbish, and I personally really didn’t like the dorm. I stayed in the 10 bed and it seemed very confined - you expect it to a point in a big dorm but I felt no privacy and like everyone was on top of each other because of the small space/layout. They also have lights positioned weirdly so that when they’re switched on it looks like daytime which messed with my body clock - still very bright with the lights off. It’s also bright with the early sunrise due to ceiling windows that don’t have curtains/blinds. Only one bathroom to the 10 bed too which isn’t enough. Bathroom is clean but bathtub rather than shower which is a flip flop job. Water is hot usually but tends to run out in the evening. Kitchen facilities are quite good as is the simple included breakfast. However, kitchen is too small at tea time, really cramped and unpleasant to make and eat food. And there isn’t enough space at breakfast either so you usually have to wait whilst long stayers sit and have a chat at the table. There is a social vibe to this hostel which is nice but because of the thin walls it only takes a little bit of noise for it to be loud. It’s let down by the people staying at the hostel. The vibe is a bit rude - loud late at night and early morning both outside and inside the dorm, also a few long term stays that have made themselves a bit too much at home and don’t show travellers courtesy in the shared facilities. Lots of places to relax though everything is a bit worn. I can see the appeal but it didn’t enjoy being in the hostel personally.
