Casa Bertagni exceeded our expectations! Great communications as we placed our reservation for a family trip with my father. We were greeted by Roberta upon arrival who was extremely welcoming & helpful in getting us settled & providing great recommendations for our visit. The hotel/guesthouse has a fun & cozy vibe with cute design touches everywhere. Rooms were comfy, clean & had a delicious fruity candy dish full of treats we couldn’t resist. The breakfast was tasty & filling, great for starting a day of exploring. And the location was excellent for us - quiet street near restaurants and easy access to main attractions in the city. Highly recommend! Thank you Casa Bertagni for a fabulous stay!

My husband I stayed here for 6 nights the en of July and I cannot say enough nice things about this place. Martin and Roberta were both wonderful hosts and were so responsive and helpful. They gave us great advise on things to do and places to eat, as well as possibly places to avoid. They helped us make reservations and showed us a bunch of places that are fun to check out. The guesthouse itself is so beautiful and fun, very clean and quiet, the room was comfortable. We didn't hang out in the common areas because we were gone so much but the living room seemed very cozy and welcoming. The breakfasts each morning were also so good, very fresh and cappuccinos were perfect. We plan to come back to bologna next year and would absolutely stay here again.

Look no further! If you are planning a trip to Bologna, this is the place to stay. It is truly like a home away from home. Situated in a quiet area, with walking distance to all that Bologna has to offer, it is the perfect spot with beautiful rooms and lounge areas. The staff is absolutely amazing! So much hospitality and as their guest, they make you feel like family. The breakfast is incredible with lots to choose from and different dishes/pastries every day. If we ever go back to Bologna, we will stay here again and again.

The staff, especially Roberta, was especially accommodating. She made hotel reservations for us, helped us with directions and made our stay relaxing and fun. My husband mentioned wanting a Coke and she had four placed in our room fridge. Our room was clean, attractive & comfortable. The hotel is in walking distance of restaurants, tours& museums. We highly recommend!

Casa Bertagni is a beautiful hotel - quirky and comfortable. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly or more helpful. The room was air conditioned, clean and delightfully decorated. Breakfast was delicious- fresh and beautifully presented. It was about a 15 minute walk from the very centre - perfect for exploring the network of beautiful little roads so typical of Bologna.

Casa Bertagni is the perfect place to stay in Bologna. It has a peaceful and relaxed ambience with stylish furniture and decor. The service is excellent and the breakfast menu hits the spot - thank you Martin. Its central location means you can walk to most destinations across the city and easily escape back to the calm of Casa Bertagni.

If I could give six stars, I would. Casa Bertagni was our home for 3 nights in June and I would absolutely stay there again. The rooms were large and comfortable and the bathrooms are nicely updated (amazing water pressure in the showers if you care about that sort of thing). Air conditioned, which is a concern in the summer because Bologna was HOT while we were there. Breakfasts were to die for - so good and after the first morning, they knew our coffee orders when we came down to breakfast. I love little touches like that. The staff - particularly Martin and Roberta - went above and beyond for us. We really can’t say enough about how well we were treated. The location is perfect bc it’s walkable to everything in the city, but also extremely quiet at night because it’s just far enough away from the university and pubs and restaurants. I’m so glad we stayed with you!

My stay at Casa Bertagni was wonderful. The home has so many beautiful areas. Clearly decorated with love and care. Excellent breakfast. Gorgeous room. Fantastic shower. Convenient location. Safe, convenient parking in the courtyard. I have been to Bologna several times and this was by far my best experience. All the people are helpful and truly care. Highly recommended.

Casa Bertagni is a villa/mansion turned into a guest house. It is run by an Italian couple. It's like a luxurious bed and breakfast. It is located in a quiet part of the city but is within an easy walking distance from the main square, Piazza Maggiore. While I don't think it's in a bad neighborhood, the front gate is always locked and the hallway doors are also lock around the clock. The decor is eclectic (or even funky). See my photos. You will be the judge. It's an old building but is clean and well maintained. Our room was clean and spacious. Lots of storing space and a high ceiling. The AC worked great, too. The breakfast was one of the highlights. Both the quality and the selection are excellent. The photos speak for themselves. If I go back to Bologna, I will definitely stay here. Guido and his staff make it look so easy. If it was so easy, every hostelry would have incredible design, gracious service, amazing breakfasts, and a superb location. My wife and I usually stay in apartments utilizing multiple services for our reservations. Casa Bertagni showed me what I was missing. Our room was large, with an amazingly comfortable bed, and easy to regulate heat/AC. The bathroom had a double head rain shower and the nicest, thick towels. Viscount Guido, an architect by trade and nature, is Philippe Starck, Kelly Wearstler, Marcel Wanders, Timothy Corrigan etc. wrapped up in one package, His designs at Casa Bertagni are whimsical and beautiful. There was so much to look at, and travelers feel enveloped in luxury. The staff is kind, friendly, warm and ridiculously accommodating. This has to be the very best place to stay in Bologna. I would like to clone Casa Bertagni.
