"A simple and stylish hotel in a converted 1920s townhouse, Lastarria Boutique Hotel opened in 2011 on a sleepy corner of its namesake Santiago neighborhood. The 14 bedrooms have an old-school feel with classic furniture and creaky parquet floors. Here you can get away from the city's hustle and bustle but still be within easy walking distance of the bars, restaurants, and galleries of Lastarria. The leafy internal courtyard with a small swimming pool has a “secret garden” feel and offers a nice dose of privacy in the city. A small terrace at one end is serviced by the Deli Lounge Restaurant and makes a fine spot for breakfast or afternoon tea. The 14 rooms were decorated with colonial times in mind, and the hotel as a whole reminds one of days gone by with its old floorboards, sash-covered windows, and dark wooden furniture. A perk for families: Lastarria Boutique Hotel offers childcare services."

Lastarria Boutique Hotel

"A renovated 1927 mansion with 14 rooms in Santiago’s vibrant Lastarria neighborhood. Understated elegance running through a historic four-story stone structure with marble floors and a winding marble staircase. Contemporary artwork, modern furniture in the lobby, and an elevator were sufficient to update the space."

Built in 1927, this property has 14 rooms. Some of them have outdoor patios with chairs. My top floor room had high ceilings, was bright, and had a large patio with planters, chairs and an umbrella. I had a large, comfy bed and linens and there were nice towels in the large bathroom. A bottle of water was provided but no coffee maker or way to heat water. The pool and garden on the ground floor had lots of trees and was shaded. There was an honor bar (with a limited selection) and nice lounge, on the 1st floor, above from the pool. Staff were very helpful. It was in a fantastic location, close to the concentration of bars and restaurants in La Starrioa.

I was attracted to this hotel because of its boutique status and 5 star reviews. Having now stayed here, I don’t understand the overwhelming positive reviews at all.||Whilst we had booked a junior suite, the room size was tiny. We could not open both our suitcases at the same time. . ||The location was excellent - really close to many bars and restaurants. Breakfast was ok - the lady was actually nice enough, but you had to be proactive to ask for things. ||The honesty bar was a great idea (although more options would be good) and the sitting area looking over the pool was very nice of an evening.||The staff were responsive via email and were proactive in arranging an airport pick up.||What we didn’t like….||- pool was freezing. It’s a concrete pool without much sun. But was so cold you couldn’t get in. We wanted to use it because Santiago gets hot and we wanted a relaxing pool day before returning home to Australia. Hence we were disappointed that it was just too cold to use. If you are after a swim, or a place to lie by the pool - this place is not it. It really could benefit from some solar heating. ||- it took literally forever to get hot water in our room. On our first night we went to bed without showers because we thought there was no hot water. Turns out there is, you just have to wait over 5 minutes (it’s a lot of wasted water)!. ||- Our room got so baked in sun in the afternoon that our bathroom literally felt like the surface of the sun. Better window coverings are needed. The terrace was not appealing at all - hot and a view of dingy apartments.||- But the thing I disliked most of all was that the bed linen was too small for the mattress. The bottom sheet was not fitted and would not stay tucked in because of its size. This meant during the night, the sheet would ride up and you would be sleeping on the old mattress itself which is just gross. During the night I would have to get up and try to pull the sheet tight to try and tuck it back in.||I would classify our actual room as 1 - 2 star.

Excellent location and a great place to chill after seeing the sights of Santiago for the day. We had originally planned to stay four nights and then decided to leave after three to return home. (On the day the power went down for most of the country). They ultimately handled the cancellation with the utmost of class, and a shout out to them for that.

So many reviews are not very honest anymore, and I was suckered by other reviews when picking this hotel. |So, Let me be honest so you control your expectations. |First, the Casa Bueras has very helpful front desk employees. |The rooms/bedding/pillow variety is good. |The location is convenient to BellaVista area and the funicular. |There is no coffee or tea in the rooms. |The “honesty bar” area has soft drink cans for $2500($2.50) and does have a complex coffee machine that I was told “use it if you know how”. Well, I have never been a barista, so I could not work the huge machine that had at least 5 compartments and spouts. | I did read that Breakfast was good at this hotel, but I cannot confirm that because it was never ready at 7am when advertised and needed. If you are taking any of the full day tours to Valparaiso, Casablanca, or the Andes, for example, know that the tour bus pickup here is about 730am as this location is usually first pickup and last dropoff. The breakfast lady doesn’t even look at you to offer a coffee until about 725am, thus no time to even drink it. Upon HER arrival at 7am, she goes through a 25-minute ritual putting out cold plates of meats, fruits, and other items while ignoring your presence, your pressure for time, and your yearning for your first cup of morning coffee (as the room has no kettle). We experienced this two days in a row. Eggs cooked to order were only seen from a sign during our stay, as we never had enough time to wait for her attention to guests, and left with only a couple of bites of fruit each day. |We had a junior suite with a patio, but the patio atmosphere is just “meh”, with little greenery, a view of an old apartment building (not park), and a tattered umbrella. The room itself for the Junior is cramped. For the price paid, I would not choose this hotel again and was disappointed overall with my stay of three nights (for almost $600 usd). I think there is better value elsewhere in Santiago.

Lovely small hotel in a great location. Only 14 total rooms. Nice amenities, water daily, welcoming wine. Nice bedding, good shower. Clean bathroom.Good breakfast and nice garden setup in the back. AC was quiet, windows could be opened. Great location with many restaurants and cafes around the corner, but quiet in the hotel.,pleasant helpful staff. Would book again.

Loved everything about staying here! Very reasonably priced and fantastic location. Very easy to walk to many local restaurants and sights. The front doors lock, and you need to be buzzed in for safety. The staff were so accommodating, spoke English well, and provided some fantastic recommendations. The room was so nice, and we had an outdoor balcony with beautiful sunset views. The free breakfast was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay in Santiago here and highly recommend staying here!

I prefer boutique hotels over big chains, and Casa Bueras did not disappoint. The staff was welcoming and attentive; the room was clean, spacious, and charming; and the breakfast had something for everyone - fruit, cold cuts, yogurt, cereal, eggs cooked to order, toast, pastries, juices, espresso, and tea. The location is outstanding, a five minute walk from all the shops, restaurants, and bars in Lastarria (but still relatively quiet) and no more than a 20-minute walk from almost anywhere we wanted to go in Santiago. Taxis in the neighborhood were plentiful and several metro stations were nearby. Management allowed a late check out on our day of departure for 50% of the daily room rate to accommodate a late flight, which we greatly appreciated.

We were all set to give this hotel 5* as initially things were really good:|- very friendly and informative greeting by the manager (we think - he spoke very good English)|- we were given an upgrade to a lovely larger double room, which was nicely done and some thoughtful finishing touches.|- reception ladies lovely and also very helpful|- breakfast adequate with hot food cooked to to order and cappuccinos available.|- Nice sheltered Terrace area in front of the pool although the pool would have benefitted from a robot floor cleaner.||Where it all turned a bit sour was later in the evening and our unfortunate encounter with the night reception man…||NIGHT RECEPTIONIST (MALE)|The Night Receptionist needs to go on a Customer Care course; he was very unhelpful when we stated that the AC wasn’t working in our room and it was still 27c - could we please borrow a fan? No, this was not possible as he had the only fan! Several phone calls later it was suggested that we moved rooms (at 10:30pm!) Eventually a fan was found that we were begrudgingly given!||Prior to this, this same man had ordered us a taxi to La Cabrera Isidora steakhouse at double the price it cost us to return; perhaps he gets a cut?! Use Uber…||This was all quite upsetting and most unpleasant - we’ve never been treated with such disdain and rudeness. Last time I checked, we were the paying customer! ||So disappointing after such a welcoming start.
