This was a gem I found online. Very elegantly decorated. Beautiful old house converted into a hotel that really makes you feel you're in the old colonial city. Exactly the local feel I was looking for. Except it's far enough from the old city so that you don't get the high prices or very limited space or poor lighting, yet close enough to easily walk there. Really spacious rooms and nice bathroom with natural light. They have a good sized pool. The free breakfast was amazing, authentic home cooked meals with a variety to choose from. There's a park and convenience stores and some restaurants that are easy to walk to nearby, as well as the beach. Also easy to get taxis from here. I think this was not so popular online because hardly any of the staff can speak English. But that shouldn't be a problem for many people and other than that, the service was excellent. Great value for money! Really enjoyed my stay here.

Our stay was short but incredibly sweet. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who were so welcoming to us and all the guests. We also met Edgar and Claudia, who were both wonderfully attentive. It happened to be Claudia’s 38th birthday weekend, and we were lucky enough to celebrate with her!||I can’t recommend this hotel enough. There’s something truly unique and special about this place—it already feels like my second home in Cartagena. Whether you’re traveling with friends, family, or planning a special occasion like a birthday, wedding, or private event, this is the perfect place to celebrate.

Casa Bustamante is an oasis in Cartagena! The location is just far enough away from the hustle & bustle but still convenient to everything. The rooms are gorgeous, the pool was clean & refreshing, the staff very helpful & friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. The beds are also comfy! Plus, the house is so charming and unique. The staff also let us store our luggage for free for our 2 night stay on an island, which was very nice. We have zero complaints and would love to return in the future!

I’d really love this place to stay a hidden gem, by my experience was so delightful I can’t keep it to myself. They were doing construction during our visit but I heard no noise. The room did get dusty, but was cleaned immediately when I brought it to the housekeepers attention. ||The location is impeccable, a 4 min walk to the beach and 10min walk to the walled city. The only thing I didn’t like was the padlock on the guard door. You’ll have to have an employee let you in and out, but they are very friendly and efficiently. The hotel felt very safe and there is someone at the front desk 24hrs. ||The pool was just the right size for 2 or 3 people. It was clean, the water was warm and the landscaping gives a great ambiance. ||Besides the location, I’d have to say the best thing about the hotel is the staff. They were friendly, informative, and offered great recommendations. I look forward to visiting again in the future!

The reason i gave 3 stars is the room doesn’t have fridge which is very important in cartagena due to the weather also you need to pay for the water. 1. Location The hotel is tucked away in a quiet and safe area on a small street, offering a peaceful atmosphere. It’s within walking distance of key spots: just a 4-minute walk to the beach and a 7-minute walk to a well-stocked grocery store where you can find almost anything you need. Additionally, there’s a small shopping mall within the city walls (11 minutes away) with a few shops. The main plaza and the old city are about 20 minutes away on foot, whether you walk along the beach or through the city. The area feels very safe, even at night, so there’s nothing to worry about. 2. Check-In and Customer Service Check-in and check-out times are strictly enforced, which is understandable for a small boutique hotel. The staff are friendly, accommodating, and do their best to assist, even though they don’t speak English. Their effort to help is greatly appreciated. 3. Room Quality We stayed in a spacious room with high ceilings, which added to its charm. It included an en-suite bathroom with a standing shower and air conditioning, an essential feature in Cartagena’s hot weather. The room was clean and well-maintained, making for a very comfortable stay. 4. Facilities and Amenities The pool was the highlight of our trip. After heading out early in the morning, we would return by midday and spend the afternoons cooling off in the pool until evening. The pool area also includes a shower and an outdoor toilet, with towels provided for guests. Although there are only three sunbeds, this wasn’t an issue for us, as you can easily lay a towel on the floor by the pool and relax. 5. Food and Dining Experience Breakfast is simple but sufficient, including coffee or tea, fresh-squeezed juice, fruits, eggs, and bread. We requested papayas, and the staff kindly brought us fresh ones right away, which was a lovely gesture. 6. Cleanliness and Maintenance The hotel is clean and well-maintained. We noticed staff working throughout the day on minor repairs and upkeep, which reflects their dedication. We faced no issues regarding cleanliness or maintenance during our stay. 7. Value for Money This hotel offers excellent value for money. 8. Suggestions for Improvement • The hotel is ideal for those looking for a quiet and peaceful area. • However, the owner might consider discouraging kids from riding scooters around the property, as it can disrupt the tranquil atmosphere. • Having an English-speaking staff member would enhance the experience for international guests.

We stayed in 2 different rooms, they were both great. We somewhat preferred the smaller room with the queen bed instead of the larger room with the king.|Communicating with the hotel beforehand to arrange to leave my luggage was unfortunately a frustrating experience. That experience aside, once we were there everything was great. Good location, close to city center but away from the city noise. Helpful and accommodating staff. Nice pool. AC worked very well. Breakfast was decent (but more fruits would be appreciated). |The only con was that the washroom windows had no screens so there were some mosquitoes in the room.|We would stay there again!

Such a cute, well located boutique hotel. They’ve converted a Villa into a unique stay and I’d absolutely recommend it. It was well located, close to the beaches and a 15-20 min walking distance from everything we wanted to do. We actually preferred staying a bit away from the party areas in Getsemani. The room was cozy, but enough for two of us. The bed was a bit hard for my back, but overall it was manageable. The service was incredible - the staff were super polite, gave us good pro tips and extremely helpful. Manuel went out of his way to know how I took my tea and Miguel ensured that the car rides we took were safe. We were so glad to be around such caring folks. Overall, highly recommend!
