Casa Canabal by Faranda Boutique

I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in December. It is in a great location in Getsemani, easy walk to Plaza Trinidad or the walled city. The breakfast is decent, the hotel is very clean and smells like a spa most of the time (in an inviting way). There are lots of local food options around the hotel, you will have to go a bit further for more upscale options, but everything is within walking distance. |The rooms are very clean, but my room had no window (206) so it was difficult to tell what the weather was like in the morning without going outside. |The pool was clean and very well maintained and mostly empty for the period I was there. |The street does get flooded whenever it rains, but it drains within a few hours|I always feel that it is the small things that elevate a hotel and I arrived at this hotel just before midday and even though it appeared the room was available, they made me wait until the 3pm check-in time before giving me access to the room. That seems very petty to me and not something I have experienced in the past. It is also why I took away one star. |Despite that, I would stay here again, the staff are very polite and welcoming. I definitely loved Cartagena and see myself going back in future.

Very nice hotel in Getsemaní neighborhood, within close walking distance to the old city. It was easy to get around and felt safe. we booked the deluxe romance room, which was very comfortable and spacious, but 2 things to note - the bathroom is not really separate from the rest of the room (there is no ceiling so it is open to the rest of the room, which was not the best for privacy. The other thing is this room is right on the street so it can be very loud. We almost changed rooms because it was so loud the first night, but then it seemed to quiet down - maybe because of the raining/flooding, so if you want quiet ask for a different room in the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, I was not as impressed with the lunch/dinner menu. The rooftop pool area was great! I would consider staying here again!

Beautiful hotel and amazing staff! This hotel is perfectly located in the Getsemani neighborhood and is about a 10-15 minute walk to the major points of interest in Cartagena(not including Bocagrande, need to Uber/taxi). I want to mention the amazing Rosmy at the front reception who always welcomed us with a smile and made sure we were taken care of during our stay. She helped us setup Boat tours, Mud Volcano and gave us great food recommendations. She is easily the best hotel staff I’ve encountered while staying at a hotel. Thank you Rosmy!! Also, the massage at this hotel is worth it! Ask for Nicole, she is a highly talented masseuse and took me to heaven and back. I would gladly stay at this property again. Thank you again.

We had the pleasure of staying at Casa Canabal in Cartagena over New Year’s Eve and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our three-day visit. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the old town, making it easy to explore the area at any time of day or night.||Casa Canabal boasts a charming atmosphere with great attention to detail in its rooms, bathrooms, and public spaces. A standout feature is the rooftop and swimming pool, which are perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing.||Breakfast was delightful—fresh, delicious, and well-prepared. The team at the hotel truly made our stay exceptional. Everyone we met was welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help with a friendly smile.||We would absolutely stay at Casa Canabal again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cartagena!

My favorite place to stay in Cartagena! The hotel is located in a populated area with lots to see and do but the space provides tranquility to contrast the busy street. The bed is so comfortable, the rooms clean, the staff helpful and friendly! The boutique style of the hotel is cute while also bougie. I received massage services as well while here. So relaxing. I highly recommend you stay your next trip to Cartagena.

The hotel is beautiful and relaxing from the moment you come in. The staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. They helped us book the party bus and offered to make reservations for anything we needed. Also made suggestions on where to go. We felt very safe, the entrance door is locked and there is a staff member in the reception at all times to open the door for whatever time we arrived. I want to thank Jose, Rosmy and el señor Alfonso for the hospitality and Nicole for the amazing body scrub and massage service before we left home. Also, especial thank you to Yohaira and Irina for keeping my room clean during my stay. Overall, I recommend this hotel and I will be back!!

While the street outside the hotel is busy, as soon as you step into the hotel it’s tranquil and peaceful. The rooms are quiet, very clean and modern. The free breakfast is also very good. Only a short walk to the old city. Overall, highly recommend.

This is an excellent hotel. A refurbished mansion. It is walking distance to everything and in the heart of the old city. We would highly recommend this hotel.|The hotel staff met our every need. Breakfast was included. The massage staff was superb.
