This was a unique stay just steps from the Cathedral, and had a charming appeal with the veiw, the balcony windows and the spacious, very clean rooms. The staff was helpful at check-in, and very helpful at checkout with calling me a taxi. It is right in the middle of the action, at the center of the restraunts and shopping directly next to the cathedral. The pros of this is that after walking the camino, it is nice to have food, massage, landmark sights, the correos office and shopping just steps from your door. It's an amazing location. The cons are as follows: -No elevator, you will have to lug things up and down the stairs. -the lights inside were infuriating, as they are all motion sensing, but don't function very well. This means you will frequently be trying to get into or out of your room in pitch black at random, and try to wave to initiate the sensors somehow so you can see. They also go off within about 5 seconds of sensing motion, then seem to need to regain their strength before turning back on regardless of if you are moving or not. It was both annoying and a little dangerous as there are no dim emergency lights, so if the motion sensors don't go on or randomly turn off, you are in the pitch dark of the completely enclosed staircase or hallway. -the beds, and I cannot stress this enough, were terrible. Even after being exhausted from the camino, the beds were so broken down and springless it was very difficult to sleep on them as there was no support and they almost folded inward due to lacking any actual padding or interior cushion material. -if the beds won't keep you up, the screaming night drifters will. There is clamoring street noise from 8m to 6am. It is only mildly quiet from 6am to 8am daily, the rest of the time it is racket from the bar downstairs, people shouting and talking, vehicles honking or driving past loudly, and every other conceivable sound. It reverberates off the stone walls and is as loud inside the room with all the doors shut as it would be standing in the street. The most annoying are the buskers blasting music from speakers most of the day directly outside your door, and random lunatics walking around between 2-6am who will be screaming, playing basketball directly outside, singing, wailing, drunkenly clamoring and shouting. It's all night long and it is as if there are no walls at all. Other than the beds and lights, none of this can be controlled by the hotel. You are staying in the heart of the tourist area and the noise is understandable. They were very nice people and the room was great, but they need new beds and safer lighting.

Another last minute booking. If you're walking the Camino it's just down from the Cathedral. Clean, tidy and despite my room being right next to the road/lane it was very quiet. Both the staff I spoke with were extremely helpful and their English was far better than my Galician. Lots of places to eat/drink/ recuperate!!

Fantastic location near the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. Rooms were basic and clean. Very noisy through most of the day and night, although the room did have nice windows that you could completely close. It was ultimately a choice of quiet or airflow.

This is our third time staying here. The hotel is in a great location – 100m from cathedral and dozens of bars/cafes/restaurants within 200m. It’s on Rua Franco which is a main tourist street. The rooms are very clean but small. The reception desk is open during the day and early evening and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The street gets noisy at night, especially Friday & Saturday nights but that’s part of the fun staying here. Single rooms overlook Rua Franco with a small balcony with great views of the street and all that’s going on.

Room is MUCH smaller than pictures show, but otherwise clean and nice staff. Great location, only two minute walk to the cathedral.

Good location with a view of the cathedral. Super clean and excellent location just a stones throw from the main square. Close to resturants but can be a bit noisy during the day as its just above a busy square. Reception spoke english and was super friendly. Try to get an upper floor as the street below is busy and can see into tje room. Unfortunately no lift. Good value for money in this town. Room was super clean and well laid out... good wifi.

Location is close to EVERYTHING! Basic rooms but very clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Many rooms overlook the street so it’s noisy plus the bells from the cathedral are only a few yards away so you hear them too. If you’re not terribly upset with the noise then Casa Celsa is a great stay.

Casa Celsa is a small hotel above a nice cafe. It is family owned and is very clean and neat. The Cathedral of Santiago is only 50 meters to the north. The third floor rooms have wonderful views of the plaza below and the Cathedral. Rooms 31 and 32 are especially nice. Actually, all the rooms are very nice. We have also stayed on the top floor and although there is a low ceiling the views are nice. We have stayed here several times and we love the facilities and the staff. The only negative is that there is no lift so if stairs are a problem this might not be for you. Otherwise, we think it’s one of the best places to stay at the end of your Camino.
