Faded glory at a special location. !! The reality is for sure less than the pictures on the site suggest. Staff : friendly. All over rating : good not excellent Nice to spend one night. Be prepared for e very very bumpy road for about 10 minutes. The location at the beach with palmtrees is super , though the beach is very small. The cenote nearby is linked to the sea and it is fascinating to see the “ boiling “ water in the sea. Be aware that the cenote on the other side of the road is private and you have to pay to enter. The premises are really nice at first glance but: Lousy shower with nearly no water Noisy water pump New curtains that do not cover the windows totally. Frontdoor hard to close. Lock of the slide bh doors broken so use a stick to lock it. The food is not excellent, but ok. No welcome drink as promised ( did not ask for it also ) Value for money : to be honest I expected more based on the web site info. Conclusion: Faded glory at a special location. !!

Stayed here in late April for 4 nights and had the perfect getaway. Laid back unpretentious vintage vibes, super comfortable and clean rooms all opening to the sea. Everything at the on site restaurant was top and was treated like family by the friendly staff. Whatever activity you want to do they will arrange! Dive, snorkel, fish, and explore the stunning cenote across the street. Plan ahead and ask Miguel for the fresh catch dinner where they will spear fish fish and come back to grill you up whatever they catch - purest clean ocean fresh meal in my life. Aguachiles were also top notch and don’t miss the sunday BBQ and famous margaritas.

A hammock swayed lazily on my private patio, suspended between two palm trees, perfectly positioned to take in the breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea. I spent countless hours there, rocked by the sea breeze, with nothing but the sound of the ocean and the occasional rustle of leaves and bird songs to keep me company. Each morning, I woke early—almost without trying—to witness the most stunning sunrises I’ve ever seen. I'd sip my coffee with my toes in the sand, watching the sky shift from velvety darkness to vibrant streaks of orange, pink, and gold as the sun rose over the water- it was a spiritual experience in itself. I never had to fight for a lounge chair or share space with loud crowds. It felt like my own private paradise. This hotel is the kind of place you almost don’t want to tell anyone about, for fear it might lose its untouched charm. Whether you're looking for peace, natural beauty, or just a clean, cozy place to unwind by the sea, this place delivers in every way. I left feeling completely renewed, already planning my next visit. If serenity by the sea is what you're after, look no further.

I was going through some life stuff and an escape to the beautiful beaches of Mexico for some R&R seemed like the perfect thing to do. I didn’t want to go to a big resort with all the people and action - I wanted something more peaceful where I could just relax and enjoy the beautiful setting. I had gone to the Casa Cenote restaurant years ago and had heard they had added some rooms. It was perfect! The room was clean and comfortable and it could not have been closer to the water! I sat out on my little porch every morning and evening just taking in the beautiful scenery and the sound of the ocean. They also had larger 2 bed loft rooms on the second story that looked nice and had incredible views too. The staff was also amazing. Miguel and his family took great care of me. And, I can’t say enough about the food at the restaurant - which was an open thatched building right on the water. A dream setting for me. Everything I ate there was fresh and delicious - the included breakfast of anything on the menu was an added bonus. Being there alone, I was concerned about safety- but there is a guarded gate at the top of the road which has several boutique hotels and private residences on it, the property itself is locked at night and Miguel lives on the property so I felt safe. I decided not to go into Tulum - but it was an easy 10-15 minute taxi/car ride away. Casa Cenote was exactly what I needed - I hated to leave!

Relaxed family-owned and run hotel with great restaurant on a private road north of Tulum town. Perfect secluded spot for a solo getaway or with a group. Beach in both directions has low key boutique hotels and private homes, feels like a private cove. Super comfortable beds, clean and well equipped rooms and bathroom. All meals at the restaurant were top notch and best food around by far. Will return!

We ate the absolute best meal here with the most incredible view. The service was fantastic. You do need to come early as they close before seven. But if you do, you will not be disappointed. The margaritas are as good as everybody says they are. We tried the grilled fish and it was fantastic. Also, we went to the cenote and swam earlier in the day. 150 pesos to swim in the front of the lagoon. We brought our own snorkel gear but you can rent it there as well. It was fabulous. Just what we needed on a hot day. The water was crystal clear.

We had a wonderful week at the hotel and good experiences with the restaurant. I had visited Casa Cenote multiple times when I was younger as I did quite a bit of diving in the area with my father. We used to go to the cenote back when it wasn't guarded by locals who now charge for snorkeling/diving there. The only establishment back then was the restaurant which hasn't changed much. Before this trip, I had read multiple reviews and there are quite a few who complain about trying to dine there only to find no one there and it being closed despite their signage and G Maps stating they are open til 9pm (every day). I don't want to leave a negative review about the restaurant hours but we did notice the same "early closings" during our stay there. We met a nice family staying a few places south of us who told us they had made a reservation for one night, showed up and it was already closed for the night.||Anyway, enough about the restaurant, more details about the actual hotel. We arrived a little later than we expected as it took a bit longer to get our rental car in Cancun. Another surprise was how bad the dirt road was once we turned off the main hwy - so glad we rented a SUV! We were informed that just after the rainy season, the road is always in horrible shape but typically gets smoothed out in December. Only downside to arriving around 7:40pm was that no one was at the hotel to check us in (and the gate was closed). It wasn't a huge issue as we had a number to call and Victor told us he would be back to let us in - took about 30 mins. The restaurant was closed when we arrived so after Victor arrived, we walked next door to BSky and had a nice dinner. Our suite was all ready for us and couldn't have been more clean, comfortable, and inviting. Its a huge PLUS to have a large jug of purified water waiting for us as well as a coffee machine (express pod style) for the morning. The linens were all high quality, freshly cleaned and the place was cool as they have nice AC units.||Our stay was very nice and I don't think we could have asked for anything else to make our stay any better. Miguel was super nice and helpful with everything that we came to do - snorkel, scuba dive, sea kayak - all provided; oh and we got fresh coconuts chopped down and split open for us to enjoy the sweet water inside. Miguel was also very helpful informing us of useful information about the area, the cenote, diving options which included spearfishing to catch our Thanksgiving dinner, etc. Another nice surprise - there's a small market just behind the hotel/parking lot. It came in handy for a few things we needed during the week. Our room was kept cleaned each day and we even had our own lounge chairs brought out for chilling under the palms during the days. The pool was relatively nice and clean, but, each end has a "hot tub" type sections both of which were not operating, half drained and not pleasant looking inside. That being said, we encountered a couple small issues with our suite but Miguel and staff addressed them all right away. I've learned while traveling down in the Yucatan my whole life that not everything is going to be perfect and all you can do is expect the unexpected while down there - that's what makes it such a cool adventure.||Overall, I have to give Casa Cenote a 5 star and know that even though we had a few small things come up, the staff did everything in their power to make it all right for us. One other suggestion, I don't think the owners of this hotel have much power to make this better but when you get down to the coast on the dirt road and make a left to go up the road to the hotels, there's a guard post there. They stop you and ask some questions in Spanish ONLY, I tried to explain that we have a reservation at the hotel but the person there (the whole week) wasn't able to express in english the info requested. Somehow, we got through each time saying in part english/part spanish that we were staying at Casa Cenote. Just FYI for anyone travelling to any of the hotels in that area of Tulum. Hope this all helps.

My husband and I stayed at Casa Cenote for 3 nights in February, 2025. It was our anniversary and we were welcomed with drinks and flowers in our room. The facilities are very clean, which was great. The beds are new and comfortable (mattress maybe a little hard). The bathroom however, does need updating. ||Overall, the hotel is a little rustic and could use updating. The furniture is quite rudimentary, the painting a little sloppy. But the most amazing part is the views. You are right next to the water. It is so beautiful and relaxing. I can’t say enough about the location. It was magical. We loved the restaurant - while rather simple, food was fresh and delicious. We ate there probably 10 of 12 meals. ||The part of Tulum this hotel is located is very quiet, so if you want the big beach clubs and many restaurants and bars, this is not for you. There are some other hotels close by but they are all small boutique hotels. This suited us just fine. We really loved it. With some simple upgrades, it could be even better.
