"Nestled on beautiful Playa Dorado in Puerto Plata, this elegant hotel features 50 stylish suites, complete with neutral decor, flowering orchids, and private furnished balconies. Some suites can be connected, but for even more space book the penthouse, which includes three bedrooms, a large living room, and a freestanding outdoor tub. In addition to a pristine beach, Casa Colonial boasts a sleek rooftop pool, a restaurant that serves fine French-Caribbean cuisine, and a spa with a treatment gazebo above a tropical pond. When staying here, don’t miss the chance to explore Puerto Plata and its charming main square surrounded by Spanish colonial and Victorian buildings, as well as the more-than-500-year-old remains of Fort San Felipe. Fifteen minutes from the resort, you can also swim in freshwater lagoons in El Choco National Park."
We stayed at Casa Colonial for a quick couple's getaway, celebrating our anniversary. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the front of house team. Our suite was spacious and had a lovely ocean view. I emailed ahead to inform the team of our special occasion and we were welcomed with a special amenity in the room, which was a nice surprise! ||The resort is beautiful, luxurious, and provides a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. Dinner at Lucia was fantastic and the Dominican breakfast at the Veranda was phenomenal. Our spa experience was divine! ||Above all, we were mostly impressed by the level of service that the team has delivered. Every interaction was personal and genuine all across the board. Casa Colonial will now be our second home every time we are in Puerto Plata and we will definitely recommend to our friends and family as well. We can't wait for our next visit!

This hotel is a real 5-star hotel. All the staffs are very professional. The environment is absolutely safe and quiet. Residents have high level of privacy. The housekeeping is great and able to maintain the cleanliness of my room. Please don't miss the restaurant because you will be regret. The pricing is 5-star grade when I have spent about $160 for 2 people, but the value is like $300 worth of dinner. Seafoods are their specialty so don't miss it. The bartenders (have to highlight Francis) are super friendly and pricing of the beverage drinks are friendly. The beach is wonderful, staffs are there to serve you anytime.

I am a hard to impress, seasoned international traveler. I feel compled to share my impression about Casa Colonial, a small boutique hotel, right outside Porto Plata, on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.||Case Colonial is the ultimate luxury boutique hideaway. A short two hour flight from Miami to the nearby POP airport, or a 4 hour drive from Santo Domingo. This hotel is a pleasant surprise and a benchmark for highest quality hospitality.||With a background in high-end waterfront home architecture and construction, my partner Debbie, was wowed and impressed. This hotel earned our deep respect for the investment in, and maintanence of, quality and details.||The staff is superb. They try to anticipate one's needs before the words are uttered. |The tropical garden is at a level of a botanical garden. The food is excelent athe dining experience is wild class.||The beach is clean, pristine and the Atlantic breeze mitigates the summer heat.||Case Colonial is a perfect 10!|

Beautiful hotel, but some disappointing policies. Casa Colonial is a charming and elegant place, great beach, peaceful atmosphere, and overall relaxing vibe. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the rooftop pool is a highlight.
That said, I was surprised and honestly disappointed to learn that they don’t accept the Hilton Honors program unless you book directly through the Hilton website. Not even partial credit for the stay or points. For a property that carries the Hilton name, that feels a bit off. I booked through a major travel site (like many travelers do), and found out at check-in that my stay wouldn’t count at all. It’s not well disclosed, and it’s definitely something guests should know ahead of time.
Service was generally good, but for the price, I expected more flexibility and transparency. Nice experience overall, but I left with mixed feelings.

This was my third time staying at Casa Colonial over the last 2 years. I normally do not write reviews but had to after this trip. Unbelievable service, food and drinks. I do not want to name any specific staff since they are all amazing and I do not want to leave anyone off the list. If you like a quiet resort, amazing beach with plenty of places to relax under shade or not - a rooftop pool and a lot of happiness - put this on your list||The picture of the meal we had was to say the least one of the best meals i have ever had. I am in my 50s from NYC. The lobster was cooked perfectly as were the carrots and broccoli in a very light sauce. The steak added a turf compliment which also was outstanding. They have a nice wine list if you are into a bottle with dinner. if you are not staying at the hotel - you can still visit the restaurant for a 5-star meal. This place will not disappoint.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Casa Colonial. The property is exquisite. The setting is tranquil and serene. The staff make you feel like family from check in to bartenders to waitstaff to cleaning staff. So accommodating and friendly, all of them. Several staff found out our daughter was taking high school Spanish and went out of their way to teach her words, phrases, and even quiz her from time to time. ||The rooms are large with a first class decor. The infinity pool, and 4 built in hot tubs were amazing as was the food and drink. The beach front scenery was breathtaking and the grounds are gorgeous and immaculate.||What a great time. Thanks to all of the staff who made our stay so special, relaxing and memorable. We can’t wait to come back.

We had an amazing stay! Everyone at the hotel and restaurants was super friendly and helpful. The vibe of the place is so relaxing - perfect for switching off and enjoying some peace and quiet. The rooms were clean, spacious, and really well kept. The food was the best we had in the Dominican Republic, whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Beach and pool were both great options to enjoy the sun. We had a massage, used the spa (sauna) and had a manicure, all of which were great. We recommend this hotel very much and will come back!
