Casa Amélia is a straightforward place almost entirely dedicated to francesinhas. They are baked in a wood-fired oven, which gives them a distinctive character and a good overall result. A few details could still be improved, particularly the bread, which would benefit from being better toasted. There is also a spicy sauce option that can be ordered separately. It leans towards a sweet-and-sour profile, reminiscent of Asian-style sauces, and is clearly a matter of personal taste rather than the standard sauce. Service is fast and efficient, focused on quick turnover. Overall, an option for francesinha lovers, especially those curious to try a different approach, the wood-fired oven one. Not my favourite.
