Large, light, airy and quiet twin room a block back from the main road and two from the beach. In Foz do Duoro, Casa Laranjas is positioned where the Duoro meets the ocean. Comfortable beds with quality linen; large, light and well ventilated bathroom with double sink and excellent products; large shared living space with couches, dining table, fully equipped kitchen and basic cooking products. Rosario was easy to contact in advance to arrange check-in and also for any questions during my stay. Water and room cleaning provided daily. 5kms / 50 mins walk to Matosinhos with market, excellent seafood restaurants and the home of Porto's canned fish industry. Great beaches with some surfing spots along the way. No metro but the 500 bus to downtown Porto / Matosinhos is one block away at the end of the road, and the historic tram car not much further. Several great dining and drinking options within walking distance. I stayed two nights (E100/night solo occupancy) after staying in Porto Downtown and am so glad I had the opportunity to experience another side of Porto.

We were 3 adult friends who were based in Lisbon for the week and took a 1 day/overnight trip to Porto. Easy 2.5-3 hr enjoyable train ride from either train station in Lisbon. Casa da Laranjas is about a 20-min cab ride (~15 Euro) from the Campanha station in Porto. ||We were looking for something in a quiet neighborhood, yet close to the center of the city where all of the sites were. Because of the traffic, when the taxi was taking us to the house it looked like we would be really far from the city center and we were s bit concerned. We were actually about a 10-15 min bus ride from all of the action. The bus stop was very close (less than a block) from the house. Just get on the #500 bus and it takes you right to the heart of the city for 1,95 Euro and you can pay the driver when you get on the bus. There are also markets, wine stores, great restaurants, and shopping within a 10 min walk of the house. And did I mention the beautiful beach and a park are also less than a block from the house?!||The house itself is very modern, renovated, and very, very clean. It is nicely decorated. It is actually a house with 4 guest rooms. Each room is lovely and has its own modern bathroom with shower. Each has its own lock for the bedroom door and it also has very good WiFi. Each also has its own air/heat control. There is a common living room, dining, and fully equipped kitchen, which can be used by guests. ||Rosario was very nice and helpful and sat down with us to review the town and make recommendations. She was very warm and responsive and reserved a taxi for our return to the train station. While breakfast was offered for an additional cost, we did not opt for it since we wanted to grab something in the city. It did look very good and there was quite a spread. If you are short on time, it would be a very good option. ||This was truly a great find. Very affordable, great location for seeing all of the sites, and was in a very safe and upscale neighborhood. If in Porto again, I would definitely book Casa das Laranjas!|||

My wife and I stayed here for a single night for our friends wedding due it's proximity to the church and venue, and didn't want to leave for the place we booked in the city centre. Casa das Laranjas was everything we wanted/needed; spacious, bright and clean. Rosario also couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming; to put it simply, she is a wonderful host. We'll be back to stay in the future.

We decided to finish our round trip back in Porto no down town but at Casa das Laranjas. Beautiful green old building on cobbled streets, tastefully decorated and comfortable rooms. It is very close to the beach area with nice beachbars (Praia da Luz), many great restaurants nearby (Wish, Bocca, Bar Tolo), and you can also take 50 min walk to Matosinhos with great outdoor grill restaurant. It is also very easy to get to the center of Porto, either walking or by bus or tram around the corner. Rosario, the host, is a super nice woman, and she nicely prepared a map for us with great recommendations. This was probably one of our best accommodations during our trip, and I am happy that we didn't miss it!

I stayed here for two nights and loved it. Rosário is a wonderful hostess and really makes you feel at home. My room (at the top of the house) was comfortable and beautiful. It's a great location close to the beach and on a quiet and safe street. It's sometimes hard as a solo traveler to find a good place to stay and this was perfect.

Rosario the host is excellent. Small bed & breakfast with 4 rooms and a very nice living room with kitchen. All place is warm and clean. Last room of the corredor with not much light but very confortable. Breakfast was great! 2 minutes from the park and beach, very quiet. Parking maybe an issue.

We stayed here for a night and were just delighted with this quiet corner of Porto. Just a stroll away from the beach and many fine bars and seafood restaurants. A gorgeous room and accommodating staff. Rosario is a terrific hostess and made us feel right at home.
