Cozy stay for one night! It is such a unique experience. Rooms are great size! A little musty smell in the bathroom but not bothersome. Beautiful breakfast and service. Parking I could see being a bit tricky (narrow road) but it is not a turn off. Easy walk down the road to visit local restaurants and stores. Highly recommend!

An absolutely beautiful ancestral historic home that Amelia, the owner, has chosen to share with the public in a very generous and open-hearted way. We were surprised at how beautiful the guesthouse was and how extensive. The home is filled with antiques, and Amelia explained that the home was built initially in the 16th century and extended in the 18th century. There are large and comfortable common areas to sit and read, make tea, and enjoy Amelia's homemade cakes, which she privides free of charge to guests.||Amelia was very welcoming and provided us with very interesting information about the house and the town. The guesthouse was a great base for us to explore and hike the Serra Estrela (which was itself fabulous). The pool, set in a pretty garden, was also incredibly charming and a wonderful spot after a hot day of hiking.||Highly recommended!!

Most of my travel I stay in hotels and avoid RBNB, apartments or B&B due to previous experiences. From the first encounter with the hostess, Amelia, I felt well assured of the quality of Casa das Obras. Amelia showed us our room, and the common areas which include among others breakfast area, game area equipped with a pool table, chess and other board games, as well as relaxation area where hot drinks and pastries are available all day. Also she gave us information about restaurants and their serving hours. ||The building with some sections date back to the 16th century is mor3 like a museum than a B&B, common areas as well as our room are super clean and well furnished. Our hostess made us feel at home and during our 4 nights stay we felt very comfortable and well catered for. ||The swimming pool area was kept open due to warm weather and enjoyed it every afternoon. ||If in Mantaigas again, we will definitely stay in this nice and charming B&B.

This house has so much local history and charm embedded in its walls. Hostess Amelia told us the home had been in her family since the 18th century. Every detail tells a story, and the amenities are so thoughtful. The breakfast was exquisite, the bed was incredibly comfortable and the aura was relaxing and welcoming. Highly recommend!

We absolutely loved this place, where we stayed for three nights in May 2023. First, it is stunningly beautiful with its "manor house" vibe, period furniture, tall ceilings, traditional/historical decor. Second, the breakfast is amazing. There is the usual spread of breads, meats, cheeses, juices, etc., but what makes this place truly special are the freshly baked cakes and breads and pastries -- different ones every morning. Plus there are bowls of freshly cut/peeled fruit: oranges, melons, strawberries, the local cherries, kiwi. And not only is there always a pot of good strong brewed coffee, there is always a second pot with hot steamy milk. Third, there is Amelia, the daughter, grand-daughter, great-grand-daughter of the family owning this property since, I believe, the 1700s. She doesn't speak much English, but she manages very well to convey her love of the home and also her honest and authentic joy at being able to host guests there. Fourth and last, the price is downright ridiculous!! 70 euros per night for a couple with this amazing breakfast. I would have thought it was a bargain at twice the price. We were in Manteigas to hike, and we loved heading off in the morning with a full stomach and lots of caffeine! Thank you, Amelia, for a wonderful stay!

What a amazing property – a grand old house with furnishings from the era.|We stayed in a double room on the 1st floor of this beautiful house. The bedroom had a large queen size bed and a separate room with seating and a small fridge, plus an ensuite bathroom. |Continental breakfast was also included and was an experience to be in the dining room of the house.|The communal areas of the house were amazing with several large lounge areas, a billiard room, dining areas, an upstairs balcony overlooking the garden and even a swimming pool. This is such a special property and we wish we could stay longer. |Reception is open from 2.00pm for check-in and a guided tour of the house. |Parking on the street directly outside the house. |We would definitely stay here again.|

Casa das Obras is a wonderful place to stay. It is immaculately clean. I really enjoyed the experience of staying here. The decor of the sitting, dining and all common areas gave me a sense of what it was like living in the home of gentile society of the 19th century. I would definitely return for another stay and highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was delicious.
