I just stayed three nights at the hotel and really enjoyed my stay! The staff is extremely welcoming and attentive, food is delicious with lots of vegetarian options, super relaxing massages, great 70s interior design and the hiking guide has a vast knowledge about the flora and fauna of the area! The “living rooms” with a fire place are a great space to hang out and enjoy a book or a drink. Great place to stay with activities for both good and bad weather!

Simply perfect. We stayed in the suite, spacious, clean, really comfortable. |The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and constantly available. |The proverbial icing on the cake is undoubtedly the restaurant, with a simple but refined menu and dishes with attention to every detail. |We will be back soon, for sure.

Wonderful chef! We had lunch and dinner here and it was wonderful . Yummy salad, spinach and mushroom soup and the vegetable soup were both great. We also enjoyed the vegetable lasagna and roasted chicken with vegetables . The apple crumble was wonderful too. The location is beautiful—high up in the mountains. We went for a walk and the clouds , mountains and gigantic boulders made exploring fun. Definitely a positive experience we highly recommend.

Set on the hill tops of Serra da Estrela. Rooms and living spaces with understated retrained class and comfort. Alot of attention to design and detail. Sumptious room amenities. Except for a design fault in the shower screen, which house-keeping promptly dealt with... the room was impecable. A delious, generous breakfast & afternoon buffet served and excellent dining restaurant. Wait staff, like that of the entire hotel, ran politely, friendly, calmly and efficiently. From check-in to check-out the staff could not do anymore to ensure a warm, welcoming, calm stay. Highly recommend to join both the onsite and off-site activites. Again, all guides and procedures run like a Swiss clock. The hotel itself is a star of the Serra, but it is the care of the staff that makes your stay heavenly. Can not wait to return... with clients, friends and family.

Excellent service with view, well designed rooms. Kitchen is best we have found in Portugal. Vegetarian, gluten free options, well served and plated. Rooms are small, no elevator. Staff is available to carry bags and address every request including laundry.

What a lovely mountain retreat! A very helpful welcome, drinks in the fire lit living room, a fine menu for dinner and buffet breakfast, and we were given instructions (and a picnic lunch) for a beautiful hike. We also recommend the free tour of the Burel factory in Mantiegas

A real Scandinavian type of experience. Terrific accomodations and hospitality. Hosts were extremely helpful with our groups needs from riding in the rain most of the day. A very relaxing and enjoyable location.
