We arrived at 06.00 in the morning, having booked the hotel through Peru Hop. At the time of booking we requested an early check in, understanding that this was a payable extra, but this was not confirmed. Before arrival we contacted the hotel & asked if we could book an extra day so that on arrival we could check straight in. We received the reply that the reception was open 24/7 but no actual answer to our request. On arrival we were all told, approximately 7 rooms, that the hotel was full so we had to wait for rooms to become available. ||We were told we could wait in a lounge area, we were here for a short time & were then told we needed to leave it as the hotel wanted to clean it. We then had to go & sit in the gardens, this was before 07.00 so it was quite cold. Approximately 08.30 I went to the reception to ask that if a room became available would they contact us via WhatsApp on the number we had given on the registration form. I was brusquely told by Natalia that rooms would be ready at 12.00 which was check in time. As she hadn’t been on duty when we arrived I explained that I knew check-in was at 12.00 but we were hoping for an earlier check-in. She snapped at me that rooms would be ready at 12 which was check-in time whilst looking away from me. I told her I understood that we were early but she didn’t have to be rude. She then told me that the early check-in fee that they had with Peru Hop was very cheap. This is obviously a deal agreed between the hotel & Peru Hop but Natalia seemed to resent the amount.||Upon arrival we had been given our room number which was close to where we were sat in the garden. We noticed that the curtains were open, my husband walked past, looked in the window & saw it was empty & the bed was already made up. Our bags had been put in a luggage room, I asked to have access to one of them as I needed to take some medication. Natalia gave me access but was clearly unhappy with me. ||We were eventually given access to our room at 11.50, in that time the only thing it needed was fresh towels that we saw a housekeeper take in. We fully understand that we arrived before 12.00 but felt that Natalia was rude & deliberately didn’t grant us an early check-in even though the room was ready, just to be petty. ||Once we gained access the room itself was fine. Breakfast was ok but we didn’t know we could order eggs until we heard someone else do this. We later saw that there were some cards advertising the egg options but they were all in a pile in a corner & weren’t clearly visible. They took a long time to come once ordered, we had to chase up the staff on both mornings we were there, but they were nice when they finally arrived. ||We would not recommend this hotel to anybody based on our initial experience & suggest that Peru Hop finds another hotel to recommend to it’s travellers
