This is an affordable place in the region. The vibe is somewhat like a hostel because of a central hang-out area that includes a hammock, lounge chairs, and a small pool. The breakfast are lovely and are a great time to see birds, including mot-mots. We stayed in a small, basic room for 4 that is part of the main lodge - probably not their nicest room. There are few options around for eating out in the evening. The owner offers a home cooked meal which, although tasty, is a little over-priced for what you get. But it served family-style with the other guests so creates a great opportunity to chat with others. This is a central place to stay to visit nearby waterfalls ($ waterfalls within Hacienda Guachepelin and free ones in the area - ask the owner).
