A well-kept museum in a beautiful building. Casa de Colón focuses on the history of Columbus and his stops in the Canary Islands, along with broader themes of exploration and colonial links between Europe and the Americas. The exhibits are bilingual (Spanish and English), and the museum includes maps, models, art, and ship replicas. The architecture is just as interesting—inner courtyards, carved balconies, and peaceful corners that give you a feel for old Las Palmas. It’s not too large, so easy to do in under an hour. A solid cultural stop in the heart of Vegueta, especially if you’re visiting the cathedral or the market nearby.
