A very comfortable stay, so much so we stayed an extra night. Very clean and the smell from the numerous plants was amazing.|There was some noise from other rooms, we were woken by an alarm that went off every few minutes for an hour and we could hear people talking next door.|We were disappointed that there wasn't a kettle in the room as this is what the listing specified, we could use the kettle in the dining room but there was a €1,50 charge for a teabag/coffee pod which we thought was excessive considering there was a supermarket very nearby. The host was very welcoming and gave us lots of information on the local area.

We loved staying here. Carlos was a fabulous host and the place was charming. It was so convenient to have the honesty fridge where you could buy water, beers, coffee - everything was 1 euro. We never drink enough water when we are away and this made it so easy. Breakfast was lovely and the room we had at the front had a balcony overlooking the street. We parked for free for 3 days in the carpark 5 minutes' walk away oh and its in the middle of town - fantastic!

What a magical place. From the moment you walk in , this place charms, with its whimsical touches, artistic flair and cute, plant-draped patio. Rooms are a good size and are well finished with local artwork, whitewashed wooden beams and contemporary lighting. Everything is immaculately clean and the air-conditioning works a dream. It's also very quiet at night - despite being five minutes walk from all the restaurants and bars. Carlos, one of the owners, is a legend and can't do enough for you - from food recommendations to booking taxis. Would stay here again in a second.

I must admit i haven't stayed in Casa de Huespedes Santa Maria. The owners have two apartments next to Casa de Huespedes and my wife and I stayed in one of them as we wanted a full house with a kitchen. We felt like at home. The place is superb, best location, spotless clean, cozy decorated, and the beds were super comfortable. Communication with the hosts (Carlos) was fluent and they were very nice to us, very educated, willing to help to for every need we had. My wife and I are demanding customers and not easy to please. Carlos excelled our highest expectations. And this is the best bang for the buck. No other place can beat it.||From now on, this is THE place we'll stay when in Puerto de Santa Maria. And we go there every year.

Fantastic guest house in great location. Really friendly and accommodating staff. Bedrooms was cool, smart and clean. Arrived in the middle of super hot day and host insisted we cool off and relax in our room 'check-in could wait' until we were ready. Breakfast was lovely. Gave us great recommends for activities, drinks, food etc all were spot on. We are already planning to return.

Amazing little hotel. Jaso has thought of everything. The rooms are beautfifully furnished as well as the common areas, love the addition of the fridge with honesty box to be able to grab water etc. Perfectly located for a couple of nights in El Puerto and very easy to travel to Cadiz for the day also.

We chose this place to stay as it appears at the top of the list and oh boy, does it deserve to be. Unusual and charming. We only met Carlos but he was so helpful and the place was enchanting. The room had everything you could need and spotlessly clean and uncluttered. The rest of the pension was such a contrast with plants galore and all in really wonderful condition. I drooled over the monstera deliciosa that I have such trouble growing! There were interesting things wherever you looked - art work, jewjaws, antiques, things to buy and on and on. An Aladdin´s cave. Loved it. My only criticism would be that they have a fridge full of plastic bottled water but I guess some travellers insist on that.

First, El Puerto de Santa Maria is a lovely town its own right, and a short ferry ride from Cádiz. Two great places for the price of one. As for the hotel, what a find! Right in the heart of El Puerto, a quirky comfortable and welcoming place. Very individual rooms, with the attention to detail very unusual. Highly recommended.
