Casa de la Real Aduana is truly a gem in Pátzcuaro. It is an art-filled sanctuary maintained with incredible attention to detail by its remarkable owners, Gemma and Didier.
We'd been dreaming of visiting during Día de Muertos, and in 2025 we finally made it! We were absolutely blown away upon arrival by the decorations—the authenticity and aesthetics created unparalleled and absolutely breathtaking visuals.
The location is superb: it's steps from the main Plaza Grande, yet the property itself is so tranquil that you immediately feel removed from all the hustle and bustle upon stepping through the doors.
For music lovers, be sure to ask for a chance to spend time in Didier's incredible audio room; it will totally blow your mind and might make you second-guess your own sound system at home! The property also attracts delightful and fascinating fellow guests, providing charming company throughout your journey.
To top it off: the wonderful staff are meticulous and warm, and the entire home is immaculately maintained. If that still isn't enough, Tubo, their delightful adopted dog, only adds to the warmth and charm of your stay.
If you seek a sophisticated, serene, and deeply welcoming experience, this is the perfect choice.
