Google
The food, vibes and people is a perfect combination for a great meal!!! Great staff makes you feel like having your meal at home. Everything I had tried is delicious. Made of this my local place. Cakes and pastry’s are also delicious and fresh.

Zulmaris Corales

Google
House of empanadas, well please don't come here for empanadas, terrible empanada de pollo y de carne, chicken tasted gross first bite couldn't even finish it, if you don't like wasting money on food then don't even bother coming here, for empanadas and sandwiches at least, not recommended so nasty 🤢

Maggie Santillan

Google
First timer here, i tried their Beef Empanada and it’s good. Paid $2.75 including tax for a piece and its not bad. They sell different fillings of empanadas and also lots of other latin/ mexican hot foods on the other counter. It gets quite busy during lunch time. Service is ok. The place is clean, feels homey.

Google
Went there with a friend because she recommended it. And it was certainly a fantastic choice. The food was affordable and delicious. The staff (particularly Carlos) were very nice and outgoing. And they have amazing empanadas. Give them a try, and you’ll be happy.

Google
Always great and friendly! I love to take my Latino (and other) friends for the first time. It becomes their new favorite place.

Google
Outstanding selection of hispanic food at a very inexpensive price. Superb service. The food is great. The empanadas are great as well. The flan was very tasty and thick. Best I've tasted in a while. Very good Dominican cake. A must visit location.

Google
My door dasher was at the door at 8:02pm. Two minutes after closing and when he asked to pick up my order they said they threw out the order because they are closed and no one picked it up. How can the food just go missing in two minutes of non business hours? I’m sure someonetook the opportunity for free food that I paid for and just took it home or ate it. They have no shame and did not want to accommodate for any reason at all. Mind you I placed they order at 7:09 pm. SMH

Yelp
Came here around 1PM, and it was moderately busy. I had a harder time ordering because the staff speak very little English, but they were very kind and patient with me. I got 3 empanadas, white cheese, cheese and chicken, and shrimp. They were all huge and delicious. But I recommend getting them to go, they sit in a warmer and it doesn't keep them the most crisp. Reheating in an air fryer at home was much better. The restaurant has somewhat of a cold, sterile vibe with everything being fluorescent and white. Despite the difficulties, I would definitely order this to go when I'm in the area.

Yelp
This is not a bad place at all. It's kind of odd if you sit and eat here since it's like all bright and like a cafeteria, but if you just pick up and go, it's not bad. I will say in order the club and everytime it's a little different. That makes it more fun though. I will be back here for sure!

Yelp
Great place for lunch. I ordered some deep fried salami and cheese and a piece of pork. Was good. Lots of people talking so it is loud. Couple of families there. The staff was helpful.
google avatar

Ericka D.

Yelp
This may be the house of empanadas but they have many other choices as well such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The two ladies that helped me order were very nice. I specifically went for the empanadas and tres leche. The empanadas were good! The breading was crispy and the middle was soft as it was filled with the meat. The tres leche wasn't the best. However, I would go again to try different things.

Yelp
We were running errands on Saturday am. We did not have our coffee. My wife says I know a place in the area that has empanadas and should have coffee. We went here. We walked in and realized this is our home lol. The food in the hot case, the variety of empanadas and the have a bakery too. We had a Colombian style empanada with shredded beef, a Puerto Rican style empanada, chicken and cheese, I liked that it wasn't greasy. We split a tres golpes, which for me is always a must. The coffee is just like grandma made it!! The pricing is very reasonable. We are definitely going back.

Yelp
The only good thing I noticed good on my visit was the Music and the happy employees. Food was mediocre, and the price surprised me. $11.xx for beef stew lol. Also two people walked in and one of them was soliciting money from people in the restaurant and the employee was right there cleaning the lobby. If you are going to charge over $10 for a togo plate a sturdy fork would be nice. Fork was all bending trying pickup a potato piece lol.

Yelp
Terrible!!! Just Terrible! Bad experience now 3 times, I gave this place a chance 3 times now 2 times carry out and 1 time Grubhub order all 3 times terrible dont waste your money or time here

Yelp
(7/26/2021) had previously sampled items from the bakery, had a coworker pick up some items from the cafeteria side for me. Rather bland permits and on the dry side, and over-salted yellow rice with pigeon peas. Chicharron were crown-breaking. I'll stick the the eponymous empanadas next time.
google avatar

Tori R.

Yelp
Empanadas are made fresh daily and with a smile! We enjoyed the customers and servers here. The ambiance is hole in wall, but clean.
google avatar

Mayra L.

Yelp
I like the food from this Hispanic joint. The ladies are very polite and they can cook. The food looks good and place clean.
google avatar

Crystal C.

Yelp
Have to say, DON'T order arroz con guandules or chicharron de cero in the evening.. it's been there all day so the meat is tasteles charcoal! Dry and so over cooked it like biting through wood, waste of $12. Rice tasted like leftovers with NO flavor whatsoever. Even the beans lacked flavor. I was scared to order an empanada, thought that would be so dry and also a waste of money.
google avatar

Luis A.

Yelp
If you are looking for Colombian empanadas, this is not the place. The crust was too thick and the beef inside didnt have any taste. Do not waste the money or the time.
google avatar

Ashlyn S.

Yelp
Delicious empanadas as a person who isn't really a fan of foods with cheese this is definitely one of the exceptions.
google avatar

Anglin T.

Yelp
My fiancée and I stopped by to grab a treat in the morning before we started our day in Orlando. We got a carne empanada, carne y queso empanada, marisco mixtos empanada, and one croquettas pollo. The carne and carne y queso (beef and cheese) empanada was great!! The dough is flaky yet crispy. The marisco mixtos (mixed seafood) empanada was *chefs kiss*. The seafood just tasted so fresh. Finally, the croquettas pollo (chicken croquette) was also equally delicious and had a wonderful amount of chicken mixed with the potatoes. Would definitely recommend this place! Their Monday - Friday 4.99 lunch special looked phenomenal! Can't wait to go back and try next time.
google avatar

Alicia C.

Yelp
NOT GOOD, waste of money and the service sucks. This is their shrimp empanada in the picture and it was dry and cold!!!
google avatar

Joshua W.

Yelp
An excellent bakery and lunch spot in Orlando servicing delicious empanadas in different Latin American styles. My favorites have been the jamon y queso and carne. The coffee is excellent here as well. Five stars for authentic delicious food.
google avatar

Yelp
Although this little hole in the wall isn't the best to look at, I did love the empanadas that we took to go! They had lots of options and it was delicious to enjoy and I would definitely go back. A little greasy but that's what I was expecting. The cheese one is delicious and the beef one were my favorite! Definitely liked the sweet ones as well!

Anrefa C.

Yelp
Lo peor que he probado en empanadas!! Pienso que negocios de este tipo deberían ser supervisado, pedi empana de pabellón y es lo mas horrible que he probado con sabor a aceite rancio y la parte de dentro con muy mal sabor
google avatar

Aida S.

Yelp
Best Empanadas in town!!!! This humble restaurant is honestly a hidden gem! They have the BEST empanadas I've ever had. My top 3 favorite flavors are white cheese, chicken, and pizza!!! They are made fresh and are super cheap. My top 3 are like a $1.75 each! It's a pretty good size too so for me one empanada is perfect for lunch! This restaurant also offers other tradition Latin dishes that look and smell delicious. Unfortunately, I've never tried them as I stay true to my empanadas when I visit this establishment. My friends who typically go with me raves about their pepper steak, steak with onions, and garlic shrimp!
google avatar

Steph A.

Yelp
Nice cheap lunch place specials are a great deal you can't pass up. Food isn't really made with to much love from the mother land but when on vacation it's the best it gets. Very busy place Lines are usually long but goes by fast. Area is a little ghetto so just keep your eyes open at all times Also you get a free soda with your lunch special lol Enjoy

Yelp
Closing hour is 9pm, we get there at 7:45 and they had already closed. They had clients inside and were moping the floor. The area where this is located is really dangerous. Coming out of the parking this lady almost hit us and then spitted at our car.
google avatar

Brandon M.

Yelp
Great food at good prices! Will definitely come here when I'm in the mood for quick Hispanic food!

Yelp
Drove 30 minutes for this Dominican cake and if they were open I'd drive back to return it. This is Dominican cake only in theory. I buy a Dominican cake every year for my birthday - it's my favorite. My career has taken me to many cities over the years and this is by far the worst. The bottom layer was completely wet - not like a yum moist - like wet - as though it was dunked in water before it hit my mouth. I actually think it's underdone. My toddler literally gagged. The cake itself tasted vaguely like that corn meal signature cake taste was added to a yellow cake mix, and the marshmallow meringue frosting was weepy and watery and grainy and no. Just no. I'm entirely disappointed. Entirely.
google avatar

Jimm B.

Yelp
Really great food , try the chicken and beans , salad is fantastic , nice service , will be back again soon

Cristal D.

Yelp
Super friendly, food is always great, they have a huge variety of dishes and empanadas. You will not be disappointed

Dan G.

Yelp
This place serves the Empanadas with very little filling I have passed by this place for years and I have always wanted to try it The ham and cheese empanada was missing the ham and cheese The chorizo wasn't Spicy I am sorry I wasted the gas to go there and back
google avatar

Yelp
This place used to be amazing when it was a smaller homier eatery a bit further down in the same shopping plaza. I find their prices inflated for what you get. The quality is not what it once was. Neither are the portions. It's ok at best.
google avatar

Yahel R.

Yelp
I was working the area with a sales rep. and we wanted to get some snacks. I saw that Yelp had this place Casa de las Empanadas. We decided to give it a try. I was very surprise when I walk in. I was expecting a very small little store that sold just Empanadas. What we walked into was a wide range of Spanish food. Everything from Chicharron de Pollo, Bistec Encebollado to Arroz con Marisco, Camarones al Ajillo. We ended up staying a getting some lunch. I ordered white rice, beans with Ropa Vieja. We also got some Empanadas, sorullo with cheese & Alcapurria de yuca. Everything I got was good & will be coming back again.
google avatar

Keone H.

Yelp
Perhaps this place is too authentic for me...i love the variety of empanadas (cheap too, starting at $1.25) and the walk up buffet bar. However, the food just didn't sit well with me...

Amelia E.

Yelp
I wish I could give a minus review, went to this local restaurant down the street from my job for lunch , I asked for garlic shrimp and fried plantains, as well as seafood mix salad and fried plantains. When I go there to pick up my order the price I was given over the phone was one and then when I paid was another first mistake, then when I opened my food to my surprise I only got 6 shrimp for almost $ 13 ummmmm I think there is some sort of mistake nope. When I called they said yes that is the price and when I opened the seafood mix salad it was some sort of soup concoction with seafood for the same price . I will not being going back ever . They also were arguing with us that we ordered wrong .
google avatar

Shawn C.

Yelp
The place was ok. Very nice workers and friendly. However, they staff was eating behind the counter and in the food serving area.
google avatar

Norma L.

Yelp
The restaurant area was great food was really good, after lunch we went went to buy sweets from the bakery, the air conditioning is not on on that size and maybe that was the reason but... we bought a few quesitos and they were all spoiled greenish it look . one I could maybe understand but omg it was gross.
google avatar

Brandon M.

Yelp
Food is fantastic. I love empanadas so this place filled me up with the large variety of them and the arroz con gandules. Come here and enjoy yourself. Way more food than empanadas and arroz.
google avatar

Jorge B.

Yelp
We saw an ad on the TV and went there to try the food! My wife ordered a Pionono and a relleno de papa and I ordered a Pollo Empanado and Mofongo! The food has no taste and it appears that they use aged, dirty oil to fry the food! It was almost an hour waiting for the food and the dining experience was not good at all! The only good thing was a cheesecake that was delicious! Will never go to eat again there! I will not recommend this place! The bathrooms were filthy!
google avatar

Gantsa Maven Z.

Yelp
I ordered 4 empanadas: Chicken, beef, ropa vieja and pernil. Each one was poorly filled and so dry it should only be eaten next to someone that knows the Heimlich maneuver because choked is very likely. So 4 empanadas each with one bite went into the garbage.
google avatar

Yelp
I have a new love, called West Oak Ridge Road, with its wonderful Latino restaurants. Today I had the good fortune of trying Casa de las Empanadas at the corner of Oak Ridge and Rio Grande. There are 44 flavors of empanadas on the extensive menu, although not all are available at all times. And another 18 on the Venezuelan/Columbian section of the menu. I had a white cheese empanada and a ham and cheese (minus the ham) sandwich on Cuban bread. Delicious. The menu is huge -- aperitivos, caldos, asopao, pollo, carne de res, cerdo, mariscos, pescado, especialidad de la casa, mofongo, sandwiches, empanadas Venezolanas/Colombianas, side orders, and of course the 44 empanadas. There's also a bakery. And I'm not a buffeteer, but they also have a buffet. My bill: $5.06.
google avatar

Yelp
Foods awesome great price for Dominican food. Lots of variety in the food. Lots of variety in Dominican food. Staff is whatever underwhelming not trained but it doesn't matter. You can't beat the price for the type of food your getting. They have Dominican cake which is my favorite thing ever. I drive over there just to get cake. I don't like the pineapple filling because it gets very wet and messes up the cake. Guava is better. I have been looking for Dominican cake since I got here last year and this is the only place I find it. So for me this is the greatest place ever. Restaurant itself is very whatever old school Dominican Uptown style restaurant. I've been three times all three times food was good.
google avatar

Tom A.

Yelp
I drove almost 20 minutes to this small restaurant that serves Dominican food and Cuban and a bit of Creole... located in Orlando on Oak Ridge Rd near OBT to try it out because i have heard good things about it and it was definitely worth the try. I had three Empanadas one had meat in it and was a good size for only $1.50 then i had another Empanadas with Chorizo (sausage) and it was also very good and the third one had Cod fish ( bacalao) and it was also very tasty and u could smell the fish when u open it up , also all three of them were made fresh when we order them and to drink i had a batido de mamey ( milkshake) and it was also delicious. There service is pretty good there always making sure you get what you need and if you need anything else they will ask you and make sure you get it and it is a well establish business with even the owner there to help out it gets pretty busy on the weekends and service can be a bit slower but be patient because once you get your food you will be glad you waited. You can also order to go in the counter up front or you can order from the buffet were they have such things as ropa vieja, fried fish,Tamales Other things in there menu include about 20 different type of Empanadas including ham and cheese ,egg, ropa vieja, Hawaiana and many more, they also have Soups such as chicken soup and Mondongo . If you are in to seafood you can also order breaded shrimp and Camarones Enchilados ( Shrimp in red sauce). This is in my opinion definitely a place to try with very good food for a good price.

Yelp
From visiting many other Latin countries in my life, I know one thing. You normally are not going to get great service in restaurants of Latin America like you do from good American restaurants. I have learned to deal with it. It is a different culture. I get it. But there is a difference from poor service(which I can live with), and NO service. I was the only one there at the restaurant. I was standing there for 5 minutes, the staff watching me from behind the counter. Finally someone gave me a menu. I ordered and once my food was brought to me, everyone stood behind the counter... never checking up on me. I don't mind getting someone's attention if they are walking by and if it is busy. But again, I was the only one there, and the staff(about 5 people) just stood behind the counter, never even walking by. And I was dying of thirst after finishing my first drink halfway through the meal. After I was finished and pushed away the plates, one lady came by and picked up my plates and asked me if I wanted another drink. Gees, thanks. I was just ready to leave, so I said "no gracias." The beef guisada was too dry. The carne y queso empanada was an air filled pastry pocket with little meat or cheese. Pretty uninspiring for a place that brags they have over 60 types of empanadas. The only thing I was pleased with was the papa rellena.
google avatar

Sasha P.

Yelp
Not necessarily the best place to get Spanish food but it is decent. They have Dominican and Cuban food alike. I usually get the Ropa Vieja or Carne Guisada with cooked potatoes and carrots. White or yellow rice. Black or Pinto beans. Tostones or Maduros (Green plantains or sweet ones). There are several options here. Pick your fave. They also have different style beverages. Typical Latin sodas like Postobon, Kola Champagne, Malta, etc. The Empanadas are mediocre. Not the best I've had but again, I'm not into the Cuban style empanadas because I believe the Colombian ones are much better. However, I usually always order some Guava and Cheese Turnovers because these are my favorite. Casa de Las Empanadas is a good place to go for lunch or takeout. It's a family run joint and not upscale by any means. It's simply a good food joint in a plaza of other small family-run businesses. Every worker here speaks Spanish for the most part so brush up on your Spanish skills. Just kidding, you'll be fine! Very inexpensive. Check it out!

Yelp
Really good food for a cheap price! Their menu has lots of items to choose from and I haven't had anything that I didn't like. Not only do they have empanadas, but they also have dishes with seafood, beef, pork, chicken and even desserts! My boyfriend introduced Venezuelan/Colombian empanadas to me through this place. Venezuelan empanadas are a bit different than your usual empanada because they are made with corn flour instead of wheat flour. I love these empanadas because the corn-base is crispy and tasty. I've also tried the ropa vieja (shredded beef) and carne frita (fried pork chunks) and both were delicious. You can get a meal with rice, beans, and plantains for about $6.00!
google avatar

Daya A.

Yelp
I love that they made an extra unit next to La Casa De Empandas to serve bakery goods. By doing this they eliminate having to go through the regular food line just for a little dessert. Plus they started really getting into making more custom cakes and expanding the amount of sweets that are made on a daily basis. They now serve a variety of breads, cake slices, cookies, flans, tres leches, chocolate pastries, enclairs, and pasteles. The absolute best thing to try from here is the pastel de guayaba con queso which is a light crunchy puff that is sugar glazed with insides filled with guava and sweet cheese. The sugar cookies with sprinkles are always a winner, and the cake slice that I previously ordered has a questionable texture. I wasn't sure if the cake should of been refrigerated since the ends were hard and the bottom was really wet. It could also be that spanish cakes are very moist and leaving them around for a day or two can cause that effect. Either way this bakery always supply and delivers excellent pasteles here, definitely worth trying.
google avatar

Leah B.

Yelp
Came Strictly for the Empanadas! Wow...I've never had an Empanada like theirs! I tried the Beef one that look'd like a deep fried Taco! Really good and crispy, not greasy! They were like under $2.00, can't beat that price! Also tried that round cornbread thing with cheese inside...So Good! When I'm in town again this will definitely be on the list to visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Seems to be a blend of all spanish speaking countries in the western hemisphere. Jack of all trades, master of none!?! Had a bandeja paisa (Colombian) and cuajito (Puerto Rican-ish) and different empanadas. Food is decent, but not going to be my "go to" place. Bandeja was smaller in portion to other (mainstream and off the beaten path) places I've tried. The empanadas were dry, i am sure if you order in enough quantity they will make fresh. Definitely low prices, you get your monies worth. The bakery part followed suit. Their bread is from cidrines. Will we go back? probably only if we are in the neighborhood and really hungry.
google avatar

N B.

Yelp
Good latin food, portions are big I usually go for the empanadas or the Monfongo, service Its ok some of the waitresses are very friendly. You easily can go for a full meal under $10 If you are in the area and very hungry you should go.
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
Yum! Latin American food! This place has a pretty diverse menu. We had a couple empanadas and steak mofongo. The mofongo was on par with what I've had in Puerto Rico. We came near closing, so the empanadas did not taste super fresh, but were still good. The papa rellena was among the best I have tried! Would highly recommend giving this place a try. If I lived in the community I'd be a regular.
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
I remember when this place was at the other side of the Plaza and it was the size of my walk in closet. It was a helluva lot better then. I took my my mom there for lunch and she had the fish. It was greasy as hell. Like if oil wasn't hot enough when they began cooking it. My Pernil Sandwich was so dry I needed to get a 2nd Malta to swallow. 1/2 way through... I gave up. The Chicharrones from pork were very good just ridiculously priced. The sad part... The empanadas sucked. They were dry and the texture was like drywall. I remember being flaky and fresh tasting before. it's like they sacrificed taste and freshness for speed. They probably sat under lights too long. Pass!
google avatar

Allie S.

Yelp
Well the food at this location definitely makes up for the lackluster bread. The empanadas are delicious, enough to bump the rating of this location. I tried two types and they were wonderful and there were many more I wish to try but didn;t have room left. Definitely will be returning to try more!

Yelp
Ive been coming here for years. First it was because my friends came, then out of nostalgia, and now, I have no idea. The food is over salted, and the empanadas are always dry (which is a true shame for a house of empanadas). Like another reviewer noted, im sure if u catch them fresh, they'd be much better, but I have yet to. Still, the flavors are familiar if ur into latin american food, and the price is right. So if ur in the neighborhood and you must, you must. It wont be the worst thing. But definitely not my first choice.
