Beautiful location with a fantastic view of the sunset; the religious motif is uniquely executed accented by gold. The in-house staff were very friendly and accommodating; Roberta took excellent care of us, it really is a shame that management has decided to close this location for hotel stays.

A private little sanctuary in a gorgeous little town. Beautiful terrace to watch the sun setting over the castle. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast each morning and Elena went above and beyond to ensure we felt special and welcome. From the complimentary perfume to the botanical bath and her incredible recommendations. I highly recommend enjoying a spa treatment in the gorgeous spa area too.

The room is a must. If you have a chance to stay here, do! Else, take time to visit this spectacular perfume store. The breakfast is excellent, a really nice experience. We loved and enjoy so much drinking coffee in the morning. Erick was the most thoughtful person. They have really good service.

Nestled within the enchanting city of Izamal, the Coqui Coqui perfumery stands as a fragrant haven, crafting exquisite scents that weave a tapestry of nature's finest offerings. As one steps into this olfactory sanctuary, the allure of high-quality, handcrafted perfumes immediately captivates the senses. The artistry of Coqui Coqui is most evident in their dedication to using natural scents, showcasing a mastery of fragrance composition. The scent of tobacco dances with an alluring sophistication, offering a rich, deep aroma that lingers gracefully. Fresh roses, reminiscent of a blooming garden, and dried roses, evoking a timeless romanticism, showcase the perfumery's ability to capture the essence of nature in every bottle. The exploration continues with fragrances like coconut and orange, each note meticulously chosen to transport you to tropical landscapes and sun-kissed orchards. These scents, skillfully blended, create a symphony of aromas that tell stories of distant lands and the embrace of nature. Coqui Coqui's commitment to excellence extends beyond perfumes, with a selection of candles, oils, and incense crafted with the same precision. The fragrant dance of these offerings transforms any space into a sanctuary of tranquility, where the aromatic journey continues to unfold. What elevates Coqui Coqui to a realm of distinction is their embrace of high-quality value-added goods. From velvety chocolate and exquisite vanilla to the golden richness of honey sourced from Mexico's diverse landscapes, each product reflects a commitment to showcasing the country's finest flavors. As you step into Coqui Coqui, the ambiance is as captivating as the scents themselves. The store is a visual ode to the worship of the Virgin Mary of Guadalupe, the queen and mother of Izamal. The thematic design weaves seamlessly with the fragrance experience, creating an immersive journey where the divine and the aromatic coalesce. The attention to detail extends to every facet of the store, from the elegantly displayed perfumes to the carefully curated selection of goods. The ambiance resonates with a sense of reverence, inviting visitors to not only explore the scents but to also connect with the cultural and spiritual roots embedded in the heart of Izamal. Coqui Coqui is not merely a perfumery; it is a sensory odyssey, an exploration of scents that transcend the ordinary. With a commitment to nature, quality, and cultural richness, Coqui Coqui beckons visitors into a world where fragrances become stories, and each encounter is an immersive celebration of the beauty that Izamal has to offer.

Low ratings for this hotel don't make any sense. This is a spectacular ONE OF A KIND experience. You are the only guest, completely catered to, in total privacy, in a beautiful town with a deeply rich pre-colonial history. Just walking around the perfume shop is an intoxicating experience. And then you retire upstairs to your private residence. Depending on pricing at certain times of year (I went during the off-season, so got a good deal), a 2-night stay is well worth it, given that you can pay upwards of the same amount at a random chain hotel in the states. And you don't need more than 2 nights in Izamal. You can get through site seeing in the town in a couple of hours and spend the rest of your stay pool side at the hotel. Highly recommend for a special experience solo or with someone!

This is one of the best experiences that I've had in a hotel. Most people come to Izamal just for a day to visit the historic sites, but this place will give you a reason to stay for a few nights or more. Luis and the staff were very welcoming, incredibly professional, helpful with local history and information, and were very easy to communicate with. My wife and I will definitely be returning to this place. The location is perfect for walking to the sites and restaurants, but is also tucked-away enough from the busy parts of town to be it's own little peaceful sanctuary. The rooms are in a league of their own as far as style and atmosphere, and the beds are outstanding. I would encourage anyone to fit this place into their itinerary, whether you are planning to visit Izamal or not.

probably the nicest hotel in Izamal, long story short… great vibes, photo opportunities, deco 10/10, best complementary bath and experience… cons, whole lotta street sounds in the morning, no isolation in doors and windows, bedding 6/10, had to pay an extra buck for breakfast since they only serve dairy produce (my gf is lactose intolerant). All in all, It’s a great stay for a one night experience, wouldn’t consider it a resting hotel.
