My wife and I stayed one night, our extended date night to enjoy St Augustine night life. Great Location, easy walking distance to downtown. One free parking spot, located within 3 blocks. We were greeted in the office, where we were provided the key and all the information. We stayed in the Mary Mitchell, which is freshly remodeled. Spacious room, stand up shower, facing courtyard on bottom floor. I opted for the breakfast in the room upcharge, which was delivered on time and delicious. I would recommend this B&B to everyone.

An absolutely fantastic historic BnB near everything you need to enjoy the Historic district. Walking distance to everywhere you'd need to go. The breakfast is very filling with a deliciously unique egg dish each day with an artistic expression, including a delightful dessert. You don't really need much food until well into the afternoon, which is a huge money saver. The chef makes rounds in the dining area to be sure you are enjoying the food she prepared. She is proud of what she creates and it shows. The complimentary drinks is a very nice touch. The host, Oliver, is welcoming, friendly and well informed of the city. We stayed 5 nights and loved every bit of our stay here.

We had a fantastic stay! The staff was incredibly accommodating and very welcoming. Jonathan went above and beyond to make our stay special and memorable. The room was beautiful with a lovely shower and living room (The Minorcan). The breakfast was prepared with care and pride. Everyday, it was presented in 2 courses served in crystal and on china. We also enjoyed several nights in the plant-filled courtyard. It is a place that we would definitely return to over and over again.

This place is outstanding. The rooms are great, the courtyard is amazing, the breakfast is made fresh every morning and great. They have complimentary cookies baked fresh daily, and a little fridge with complimentary sodas, water, and little red and white wine bottles. However, that is not what makes this place outstanding. The staff is what sends this over the moon. They are all so welcoming, warm, and helpful. They basically treat you like family (the ones you like) while you are there. Extremely helpful for anything you need and go out of their way to do so. If you are looking for a retreat for you and your family, or maybe a group of 20 or so friends, this is the place for you. Cannot recommend it enough!

Oliver was a wonderful host. He greeted us outside and gave us a welcoming tour of the B&B upon arrival. Our room was recently renovated and beautiful. The shower was amazing! Breakfast was great both mornings. Location is perfect. Close to everything including St George Street. Complimentary beverages was a really nice touch. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Google
We loved our time at Casa de Solano. The accommodations and location could not be better but the real highlight is the wonderful staff. They are SO nice and helpful and go out of their way to make sure you are happy. The breakfasts were beyond compare as well. We have stayed at several bed and breakfasts in St. Augustine but I think we have found our “home” at Casa de Solano

Our stay was great! The accommodations were better than expected at one of the oldest houses in St Augustine. The bed was comfortable and fluffy pillows abounded in a clean room. Every staff member encountered was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the staff made sure any special food needs were met. You can walk to everything in the historic downtown area.

We had an incredible stay at casa de solona, Marcus was lovely to us and the accommodations were perfect. We had a wonderful breakfast, we were always provided with beverages and snacks. The room was cozy, clean, and comfortable. The location could not be better. We would be lucky to stay again next year!

Yelp
Beautiful room, lovely breakfast, gorgeous courtyard! Wish we could have stayed longer!

Yelp
The most charming bed and breakfast right on Aviles Street! Passing thru St Augustine for one night so we decided to try out the Casa. Parking is three blocks away- so there's a loading/unloading zone at Solana for convenience. Just put in Dog Rose Brewery and the parking is right there once you're ready to park. It's a short walk back. Rooms are actually bigger than I was expecting which was a plus. Courtyard is quaint and extra adorable and the service was wonderful. My only complaint would be that the bathroom was not up to par on cleanliness. The main area of the room in general was quite clean but the bathroom just wasn't. The window on the right of the toilet had dust and hair (not mine) on the blinds and the windowsill has not been cleaned in quite some time. In a property as aged and historic as this, i get that things are kept but there are also times when things need replacing just for overall appearance- showerhead and handle being one of them. Overall this would not deter me from staying here again. There's something special about a property that's been around since the 1800's and staying in the oldest city wouldn't be the same without a stay here...it's a whole vibe and I'm all for it.

Yelp
What a little gem!! On this side cobble stone street Lovely Room was great and wine and cookies late in the afternoon was perfect Breakfast was the best -we had fruit cup and waffles with bacon. -How could you possibly go wrong ?? A short walk to water and sites Perfect location

Yelp
Our room was FILTHY. I wouldn't even walk around barefoot. The mattress was super lumpy, time for a new one. The bathroom was disgusting. While we fully understand this is an old establishment, there is a difference between old and dirty. This place needs a big time deep clean, starting with the windows. You pay for location. If I were to return, I would stay in a hotel. The gentleman that works here is NOT friendly!

Natalie B.

Yelp
This is a fantastic place to stay right in the heart of Old Town. Our room was really nice: comfortable mattress, clean and cool. The gourmet breakfasts were delicious.

Yelp
Full Disclosure: I have not stayed at this bed and breakfast. My review is just due to an experience with the establishment. I went with my dad and his fiancé to look at possible wedding venues for a small ceremony in Saint Augustine. We had an appointment at 1pm at the Casa de Solana. We arrived a little early because we know that parking can be tough in the area, especially on a Saturday. We arrived about 20 minutes early and walked the property. It was okay, it definitely needs a good cleaning and weeding in the courtyard. The steps are a little uneven so I don't know how they put chairs out to be safe during a ceremony and unfortunately we didn't find out. We decided to go to the door and just check in and let them know we were there. The employee or proprietor was unloading a car with groceries and after he went in, we tried to open the door. It was locked. A locked bed and breakfast on a Saturday? Anyway the gentleman came to the door. We explained why we were there and the gentleman told us we were too early, the person we were supposed to meet wouldn't be there until after 1 and shut the door. I was completely taken aback! Okay, we are early. A bed and breakfast is usually known to be warm, welcoming and inviting. This gentleman clearly did not was us there and displayed that very well. He left no question as to thinking we were in his way and interrupting him. So we left. We got a call at about 1:40 from the lady whom we informed we had found another place, which we did just around the corner after stopping at two other bed and breakfasts that were so welcoming and inviting when we didn't have appointments.

Yelp
Always wanted to come here so I found a night free! Was very quaint and peaceful. If it wasn't so cold and windy it would have been perfect! The innkeeper was very nice and helpful! I missed breakfast due to an early work meeting but I will definitely stay here again and hopefully in the minorcan suite! The grounds are beautiful and I love the courtyard layout. Location is perfect! Walking distance to all the sites!

Yelp
We planned a beautiful wedding weekend at Casa de Solana and couldn't have been more pleased!! From start to finish, the staff was so courteous, accomodating, polite, and incredibly helpful!! Our special day was completely coordinated by Kathy and she was just so personable and easy to talk to in the months leading up to our wedding. The rooms are so elegant, and what a delicious breakfast! You are walking distance from all of the great museums and entertainment in historic St. Augustine. We were so glad we chose to have our wedding in St. Augustine and at Casa de Solana!! Thank you!!!

Angie L.

Yelp
This place was amazing and definitely haunted! This is where I was proposed to so it will always hold a special meaning to me. Definitely worth staying if you like haunted places.

Emily A.

Yelp
My husband and I planned on staying here for one night, but extended our stay once we saw our room. We stayed in the British Suite and were not disappointed. The staff was so friendly and nice! The breakfast we were served our two mornings was fantastic. I really enjoyed the cream cheese stuffed lemon and poppy seed pancakes with blueberry syrup. So tasty! There was also cereal, milk, orange juice, coffee, hot chocolate, teas, and various breads offered each morning. They catered to my vegetarian diet without any issues and even gave me extra of other things since I wasn't eating meat. We partook in the social hour one evening and regretting not attending the evening before also. My husband enjoyed the wine and I liked the pastries, homemade cookies, fresh fruit, cheese, chips, and hot chocolate. We definitely plan on coming back after we have our baby!

Yelp
I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful our stay was here. My partner and I are actually getting married here in august and recently stayed to see the place for our wedding planning. Kathy and Lynne are wonderful. We cannot wait to come back with our families to get married and show them how truly beautiful casa de solana is. Not only are the rooms beautiful and spacious but the breakfasts are beyond amazing. My partner is vegan and they were so helpful to ensure she had a great breakfast. If you ever find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and stay here. It's also super close walking distance to many local attractions and makes the need for a car very minimal.

Bonnie H.

Yelp
The best place that you can stay in the city. So quaint, beautifully decorated. Food was fantastic. Deserts delivered to our room nightly. Customer service was impeccable.

Don B.

Yelp
Had an excellent stay here in March for a wedding (at the same venue). We stayed three nights in one of the king suites right on the courtyard. It was the perfect atmosphere. A quiet, secluded, garden-like courtyard set just off one of the busiest districts in the city. However it felt peaceful and quiet. Our room had plenty of amenities including a jacuzzi tub, and a couple of chairs for sitting out on the courtyard and enjoying a happy hour beverage. Staff here are all on point. The ladies running the day-to-day (food, upkeep) are so very sweet and accommodating. They made do with a couple of nit-picky dietary constraints for us, making tasty alternatives to what looked like incredibly delicious set breakfasts. Everything we needed we got. I can easily recommend this B&B to anyone wanting a pleasant stay in a classic, historic setting, with close access to all the action in downtown St. Augustine.

Hilary B.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay at Casa De Solana. We were in town for a wedding and our friends chose this lovely venue for their ceremony. We stayed three nights in one of their king suites with a jacuzzi tub. The location was perfect. In old town St. Augustine, but slightly off the beaten path. The courtyard is beautifully arranged with water fountains, flowering trees and lots of cafe seating for enjoying the warm afternoons. The room was clean and had great amenities. Fridge, coffee maker, lounge area, plenty of glasses and towels. We LOVED the tub. I took a hot bath every night. The staff was warm and welcoming. Especially Sugar and Hilde. We had a lovely breakfast every morning and great happy hour in the afternoons. They were very accommodating to my dietary needs (vegan and gluten-free). There are 10 rooms which were perfect for the wedding party. We took over the whole venue for two days and had a wonderful time. A great place to explore the history of St. Augustine and/or tie the knot!

Gus L.

Yelp
My wife and I and some friends from Palm Beach spent Martin Luther Day their in St Augustine and had a wonderful time there! The room was comfy and the breakfast was out of this world people were nice the place was clean! We'll do again in the when time permits. You can't go wrong here!

Cristina G.

Yelp
Beautiful, cozy, clean and quiet Bed and Breakfast!! What more could you ask for?? Located in walking distance to great restaurants, shops, museums and the fort. Breakfast was amazing and the hospitality was great. Stayed in the "cielo" room. Perfect size and even had a balcony. The courtyard/garden area was my favorite part and loved how close it was to everything. We will look forward to coming back.

Yelp
We stayed at this Bed and Breakfast on our latest trip to St Augustine. ..what a nice and quaint B&B. We were pleasantly greeted by the caretaker, he showed us to our room and wow! I felt like I was stepping into a whole different era. The room had the bed with those nice pillars on the side, the chandelier, the fireplace ..so cozy and romantic. The B&B offers a full breakfast in the morning and a happy hour from 4:30-5:30 where they serve wine and hors d'oeuvres. Each room is decorated differently, all very cozy. This B&B is right at the heart of the historic district, steps to the flagler college, Castillo de San Marcos and Oldest House. Only minus will have to be the parking. Since most of the B&B share parking spaces, the parking lot for this one is about 3 blocks away but at least it gave us a chance to walk troough the narrow but pintoresc town.

Yelp
We had great stay at Casa de Solana. This Bed and Breakfast is an excellent choice to stay when visiting St Augustine. Our was very well kept and it included a jacuzzi. They also provide you with Bubble bat soap which is definitely a very nice touch. They provide you with parking but it's a about a 5 minute walk, not a big deal since your mostly going to be walking while your in this town. The breakfast was ok considering what your paying for a night, but I doubt you will be getting anything different for that price in St Augustine since it is a very touristy place. Definitely a great place to stay and if we're in St Augustine again we would most likely stay at Casa de Solana.

Yelp
We stayed here in July while attending a wedding, and there were some great (and some not-so-great) things about our stay. Let's start with the great: the upstairs room we stayed in was spacious. The bed was super comfy and there were so many pillows! I can never have enough pillows, so this was awesome. The breakfast was cooked well and was tasty. The location was perfect for the wedding we were attending and was close to everything we wanted to walk to! Ok, then there was the not-so-great stuff. First off, no one is there to help you check in should you arrive past 7pm, and their website has NO number that anyone will answer should you arrive after the receptionist/employees leave. We arrived later than intended, around 9, and the problem with this is that the only number listed on their website or in my confirmation email was the one for the B&B's main line. We spent nearly an hour trying to get someone to answer. After 45 minutes of calling and knocking, we almost gave up and drove back to Jacksonville. It was late, it was hot, we were tired, and NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE!! Out of pure desperation, I went to the second level to bang on random doors to get an emergency number and happened to find our assigned room, with the door unlocked. Once inside, I found the emergency number and managed to find out from the bewildered man who answered that our keys were in the mailbox beside the front door. I explained that no one had called us and we had absolutely no way of knowing how to check in. He said he would tell "her" (whoever "her" was) to make sure to do that in the future. I cannot tell you how frustrated we were at that point! That number (see photo) would be useful to put in EVERYONE'S confirmation email, regardless of their anticipated arrival time. So, the second thing that bothered me was that no one ever spoke to us about being there during our stay. I thought that was weird. I mean, who are those people who slept in that unlocked room? Was it really the intended guests? I found it a little strange. Brunch was good, but it would have been nice to have gotten a "Hey, how are ya?" Or some sort of friendly chit chat with the employees. I mean, it's a B&B, aren't they supposed to be known for that? The hot water upstairs didn't really work until my shower was pretty much over. Probably just an "old house" thing, but it could definitely use a tweak. Additionally, the downstairs visitors smoked quite a few cigarettes near their patio in the courtyard-this may or may not bother you, but I'm not super into walking through clouds of cigarette smoke. And yes, like others have mentioned, parking is nearly four blocks away. When we checked out, someone left their car in the one eeeennnnsssyy spot used for unloading/reloading. It was there for at least 45 minutes. I know this because I brought down our bags and then waited while my fiancé walked to Timbuktu to get our vehicle. I've been to other B&Bs in the area, and I've never had an experience quite like this one. For the $$$, I did expect something a little different-like an email, perhaps, with a contact number that is actually useful? I can tell you I will NEVER make a reservation again for a B&B without getting those digits and details should I, you know, be so into the food and socializing at a wedding rehearsal that I decide to check into my room at some ungodly hour (aka 9pm). I think if you have those details down, and you're cool with the parking, you'd be okay to choose this establishment for a night or two. It's really a great location and it is very convenient. Just be sure to check into your room before the sun goes down.

Jack L.

Yelp
This B&B does it right. We stayed in the Minorcan Suite for two nights and I wish we could have stayed a week. From the luxurious sheets to the fantastic shower, plush bathrobes and sherry in the room, every amenity has been carefully considered and it shows. But the true crowning glory are the breakfasts. The food was delicious, creative, and delightfully served. The cookies available upon arrival were fantastic and the afternoon wine, cheese/crackers and fruit were a pleasant treat. We have driven cross country 3 times in the last 3 years and I can honestly say this was the most delightful place we have stayed.

Christina F.

Yelp
As I write this, there is still $150 missing from my bank account, after a truly horriffic billing incident, that ended up charging me nearly $1,000 on a room that was under $500 and paid for with a gift card. Really, I have tried to not let that color my review . This Bed and Breakfast is in a great location, walking distance to most of Historic St. Augustine (you must park about 3 blocks away after check in, so keep that in mind if you have mobility issues). It is a lovely old estate, with what must be fabulous gardens in good weather (it was bitterly cold the weekend we were there). We had the Rosa suite. The suite was nice, but nothing special, and a little haphazardly put together, and kind of dusty. Some of the furniture was a little funky, and there was a LITERALLY 10" TV. I understand I am not there to watch TV, but seriously COME ON....even a 21" LCD would be an affordable way to spruce up the room. The fireplace and jacuzzi were nice touches, and the balcony would have been great in warmer weather. I only ate breakfast one of the two days, and it was two slices of french toast that were made from what appeared to be wonder bread. SO not special. I have been to a lot of B&Bs, and usually they try harder than this. Luis the innkeeper was very very nice, and we talked to him about his cats etc, and he seemed very sorry for the billing errors, but had some difficulty understanding the problem, though did try, and I genuinely think he had never been confronted with a reservation prepaid by giftcard before and was totally cafuffled (he had also had an incident with a guest who tried to physically assault him the same morning this all happened, so again...he did his best). Would I be back? Not for $250 a night.

Nichole C.

Yelp
The mister and I stayed at Casa de Solana at the end of the year, and loved our stay! Charming, quaint, and centrally located; what more could we ask for? Being that we were in the oldest city in America, of course the B&B was old, but had modern updates. Our room, the Segui, had a gas fireplace, soaking tub, tv, and a shared balcony {though no neighbors next door to share our balcony with!}. Parking was off-site, but not too far of a walk. Once we checked in, we never needed our car until we left St. Augustine. Breakfast was served daily, and my only gripe would have been that it stopped at 9:30. That made me feel a tad rushed in the mornings. All in all, I would definitely recommend CDS! I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Heat and air did not work. Turn a/c on and blows heat. Turn heat at 72!and goes to 84. Catalina room was very noises until 1 am Staff was nice and food excellent. But customer service about issues just ignored They turned off unit and it blew cold air. Never came back to check For 180 a night not worth it

Koramarie D.

Yelp
My Boyfriend Jason and I had such a great trip while staying at this B&B. The breakfast was amazing and the room was super relaxing! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing/romantic getaway in St.Augustine. Many thanks to the staff!!

Kevan K.

Yelp
This place really rocks. They have some very nice room with fireplace and Jacuzzi. They were also very helpful the food was wonderful and the location was great. We did pay more than other places, But there really was some cool amenities in the rooms.

Laura S.

Yelp
This was our first stay at a bed and breakfast and we could not have been more pleased. Upon arrival, we were met by Kathy, who was very friendly and welcoming. She checked us in and took us up to our room (Montejurra) which was lovely. We went down for social hour where we found other guests and a great spread which included cheese and crackers, olives, fruit, cookies and wine. Kathy interacted with all of us and gave us great advice on things to do, places to eat, etc. The breakfasts were delicious and the morning staff was just as friendly and helpful. The location was absolutely perfect. We were within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants and a quick drive to St. Augustine beach. We highly recommend Casa de Solana and will definitely stay there the next time we are in St. Augustine.

Daniela R.

Yelp
Just stayed in this beautiful place for 3 nights. The room was beautiful and clean, and the breakfast cooked and served with love. Will be back and can highly recommend it.

Jeanee S.

Yelp
Had a wonderful stay. The staff were exceptional and helpful, even taking the time to show us around the building and telling us the history. Breakfast was awesome the best omelet I ever had! We will be back!

Natalie W.

Yelp
Location! Location! Location! I love this side of town, away from the noise of the main street, but just a step away from the action! We have stayed at many of Saint Augustine's B&Bs. This is the best! The accommodations are clean, tidy and lovely! The remodel has brought this already great B&B to amazing. Each room we have stayed in retains it charm, while still allowing for the luxury of a modern hotel. The staff is helpful, courteous and accommodating. I have a diet restrictions and was able to enjoy the daily breakfast. AND did I mention they have the BEST scones I have ever tasted! One of our favorite spots!

Tam K.

Yelp
We stayed at this B&B on June 15, 2016. The house and its outlying buildings were beautiful as was the courtyard. We were greeted and directed where to temporarily park while we checked in and unloaded. The evening innkeeper was very nice and helpful, even showing us to our room herself. Upon opening our suitcases, we found that we had forgotten our toothbrushes and toothpaste. I went downstairs to ask where we could purchase some close by and she surprised me by having a full size toothpaste and 2 toothbrushes that were given to me complimentary. Very nice! We noticed after showering that the AC, though set on 72F, continued to creep up until it was at a constant 79F and would not get cooler. While leaving to walk to dinner, we let the innkeeper know and she immediately asked what room we were staying in. When we told her, she told us to go grab our stuff, the AC had been having issues for the last couple of days in that room and she was putting us in another. The new room was a definite upgrade, both in size and price and we were not charged a penny for this. Kudos to the customer service at this B&B! Upon checking out, another innkeeper greeted us and thanked us for staying and apologized for the issue with the room which was unnecessary considering the upgrade we received. We would definitely return to stay again. Maybe we will book one of the haunted rooms next time! A few very minor negatives: after unloading guests must move their vehicle to a parking lot several blocks from the hotel and walk back. Not a big deal, but if you are limited in mobility, could be an issue for you. There were wine glasses in our upgraded room and we brought a bottle back from the winery hoping to relax and sip in the courtyard but there was no wine opener in the room. That would be a nice addition by the ice bucket. If you are a very light sleeper, consider asking for a room where no one is above you. Being an old building, you could hear every step taken above you. Fortunately, they rose about the same time we did. Like I said, very minor! Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Keasela R.

Yelp
This was our first stay at a B&B. We will definitely do it again! Yes, the parking is offsite, but its not a long walk & free. You're able to unload on the CDS property. We stayed in the British Suite. It was intimate as described, clean, & eclectically decorated. This room is not for anyone over 5'7" due to the low ceilings. There was also a jacuzzi in our room, which was clean, but might need to replace some parts. My husband & i did feel set apart, which added to our getaway, despite being in the main house. The CDS chef made a delicious breakfast upon our arrival in the dining room: Italian quiche w/ zucchini & banana pancakes. It was the perfect amount of food. I also had a blueberry scone made from the CDS kitchen. Best scone I've ever had. The staff tending to the dining room was very attentive & friendly with all the guests. I loved the decor in the dining room. As the sun was shining through the windows, I felt like I was brought back to a different time. My husband & I really enjoyed our breakfast. CDS also offers a wine & hors d'oeuvres happy hour & coffee & pastries all day. We would stay here again & choose another room to have a different experience.

Yelp
What an amazing time at an amazing place! Everyone at Casa is so great but especially Cathy! She is so helpful, very personable and set my mind at ease that things would be handled right. The Bed & Breakfast not only has great history, a really touching past but really cold AC! Each room is stunning and huge! Let's not forget to mention the breakfasts. Oh my YUM!!! The pictures on the website were spot on. The balconies are awesome to be relaxing out on and although we loved how private the B&B was it was so close to everything! We couldn't have asked for a better Wedding weekend, and we will definitely be back. Thank you to Cathy, Jeff and all of the ladies that made everyone of our guests (but especially the Bride and Groom) feel at home!

Yelp
Absolutely Outstanding! We have stayed in numerous facilities in St. Augustine. It was our 49th Anniversary and our first choice was full. So we thought we'd try a different Inn. We now have a new first choice! The Casa De Solana! The quality of our room and food was exceeded only by the wonderful staff! The location is perfect. Just a couple blocks from the town center. You park your car in a safe off site facility at no charge. During our stay, there was a Mother/Daughter, a family of four and a young couple. And everyone of them raved about the accommodations. Don't wait until your 49th. to enjoy this thoroughly wonderful Inn.

Tarrah F.

Yelp
I love this town and this place is our preferred place to stay. The food is amazing and the beds comfy, while the look of the place is adorable. It is right in the center of everything, so it's incredibly convenient on top of it all. The employees were all incredibly nice and helpful, which made us feel right at home. Hope to be back soon!!!

Carmen H.

Yelp
THIS DID HAPPEN AT THE B&B, NOT THE RESTAURANT! You were not at the restaurant, so how would you know? That is a sad attempt at shifting blame. I was here for my daughter's wedding. We were treated horribly by everyone here except one woman who was pregnant. The staff was very snotty and not at all helpful. The location is beautiful, but you have to park 4 blocks away, which is horrible. Also, climbing 4 flights of stairs with luggage, without help, was unexpected. It was as if our presence there annoyed them. Things that were supposed to be included were not. The cake was not the cake that was ordered. Food that was supposed to be for the wedding party was quickly taken away when people actually ate some of it. We were watched like criminals and constantly yelled at about eating it, then mysteriously the whole table of food disappeared. Champagne that was supposed to be included was taken off the tables as well. They were extremely rude and not at all understanding with my son, who has a disability. It was quite clear that they did not welcome us there at all. They may well have been just as glad to see us leave as we were to get out of there!

Yelp
The location is excellent, but the room was was just so-so. It was clean but appeared to be unfinished with a hole in the celing exposing heating pipes. There were screws sticking out of the celing and the place was small over all. The thermostat was locked in a plastic box and it ended up getting quite chilly. There were no extra blankets/pillows to be found. Once in the room, we discovered a blue, laminated sheet with guest instructions. I understand inn keepers must be wary of theives, but our room was nearly $300 per night and the comment about being charged up to $200 if we took things from the room--including towels (combined with the locked thermostat) was a bit insulting. I would handle this issue during check-in by having guests sign something--not put sheets in the room. Also, our room was connected with (what we believe was) a janitor's closet. There was about of inch of space under the connecting door and the light was left on and was beaming into our room. Problem is, this wasn't part of our room and the door was locked. We couldn't get in to turn off the light and there is no one at the front desk after 830 pm, so we had to deal with the light spilling in. I heard the upstairs neighbors running their bath, walking and watching television. They finally went to bed after 1:30 am. They weren't overly loud, there was just no soundproofing. The bed was springy and the frame was loose. Everytime my husband moved, I did too. Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep. Breakfast was awful. There was a puff pastry with ham, spinish and cheese (cold in the middle, shredded cheese not melted) and a scone that would crack a car windshield, lol. We didn't eat our breakfast. Finally, we had to park quite a distance away. I understand that parking is at a premium, but this was several blocks--not a deal-breaker: just another inconvenience. Overall, we will choose another location next time we come to St. Augustine

Yelp
We truly enjoyed our stay at Casa de Solana! My fiancé is not a fan of b&b's and he really enjoyed his stay! The moment we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome and informed of all the great benefits offered. They have complimentary home cooked breakfast in the morning (which is delicious) and includes two courses, breads, cereals, juice, and coffee. It does end at 9:30am but we like to get an early start so that was not a problem. They also have a complimentary wine and cheese hour which we weren't able to attend because we were out exploring, but sounded great. The location is amazing right in the middle of Old Town with access to most of downtown St. Augustine's landmarks. The premises are beautiful with the buildings surrounding a quaint court yard. I liked that there were many different options for rooms (main house, side house, suites, balconies, 1st floor, fireplace, etc.) The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious. There is free parking a few blocks away, which when you see the location you will understand why. They do have a loading area so you can drop off your belongings first. The staff was very helpful and friendly and even called to let us know we had left something in the room. Overall great experience!
