What’s more, there’s a roof terrace with a panoramic view of Todos os Santos Bay, and a swimming pool to beat the heat. You’re at the heart of the action, yet one step removed. I traveled here in January 2025 for almost a week and the owner was more than hospitable and welcoming. When making the reservation, I stated that my friend and I were celebrating our milestone birthdays and they instantly gave us the best rooms in this boutique hotel. My bed was literally two king beds put together! Housekeeping was on point and they literally scrubbed my whole room daily that I could’ve eaten off the floor. Turndown service was great. It’s in the heart of everything in Salvador and the service and food was impeccable and impressive. The breakfast was more than filling (it’s included in the stay) and the other meals were delicious. The front desk was knowledgeable and was able to make our stay memorable. Will definitely be back.

This is a true boutique hotel with soul. The rooms are spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable—the bed alone was amazing. Housekeeping was impeccable throughout my stay.||What truly sets this hotel apart is the service. The staff went above and beyond with recommendations, tour assistance, and genuine care. The owners even surprised me with a bottle of bubbly on my birthday, which made the experience feel extra special.||While the price may seem higher at first, the cleanliness, comfort, and service make it absolutely worth it—especially compared to other nearby hotels. Excellent place to stay, the rooms are large and luxurious, the restaurant food quality is excellent, the service is exceptional, the owners and the staff really make you feel very welcome. The location is also great, it is in the heart of pelourinho, the tourist area, is very happening. I would absolutely come back to stay and would recommend booking directly with the hotel.

We spent two nights at Casa do Amarelindo, right in the heart of Pelourinho, and what a treat! The bed is truly the largest I’ve ever seen, so wide there’s room for an extra pillow between ours. The staff are exceptionally kind and helpful, and the food is amazing. The gym is small, but everything else more than makes up for it. The hotel has only 10 rooms, which adds to its charm, and there’s a lovely indoor garden by the restaurant. Breakfast is outstanding, local Bahian specialties with a French touch from the owners. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, character, and a prime location in Pelourinho.

This is a really Charming boutique hotel in the historic center. We were greeted by an excellent and enthusiastic receptionist who explained all about the hotel and what’s going on around the area. We had a large room that overlooked the street (other rooms have amazing views over the bay…pity booking.com didn’t get us an upgrade 😉). The room was as was the hotel very nicely decorated and comfortable. The breakfasts are excellent and plentiful. The views from the small pool are great and the hotel location is excellent.

Perfectly located in Pelourinho, the historic centre of Salvador, this charming hotel occupies a fully restored 19th century building. With sound insulation for those who don't want to hear the noise from the lively cobbled streets below and a bar for those who do. The bistro restaurant spills out onto the patio and serves great home-style cooking using local ingredients. And the team? They are exceptional, especially the reception and security guys who couldn't be more helpful, including tips on restaurants, places to visit and walk (or not walk). Resulting in our trip to Salvador being truly enjoyable.

The hotel is beautiful and spotless. The reception from day 1 was so special. Personally greeted on arrival and departure by the owners - they care and the staff are brilliant. The food was extremely tasty, and breakfast was plentiful. Huge shout out to Rodriguo who gave us a full run through of the local area, advised us on where to buy tickets for a local dance show, and took us to the venue to purchase them. (definitely worth going to see), and sorted our taxi for our return to the airport. Thanks to all the staff and the owners for making this leg of our honeymoon so special. One tip - when the hotel offers to organise the airport transport for you - take them up on the offer- it is worth the little extra you pay not to need to trek your suitcases up the very steep hill!!

This hotel is very well located if you want to be in the Pelourinho neighborhood, in the historic center. There are ten rooms, of which we booked two for one night (we planned for two nights, but there was only availability for one - so book in advance!). The hotel is family owned and the owners live in the building. Rooms are clean and quiet, but there can be a music show in the vicinity until 11 PM. The hotel has its own restaurant. We had dinner and breakfast there. Breakfast is a la carte, though included in the room fees. The hotel is very neatly decorated and the staff and owner are very attentive.

Amazing staff, dinner menu is amazing. Only thing I would say is I wish the breakfast menu u was better. The scrambled was a bit too 'wet' for me, and the crepes were made from Cassava. Otherwise would highly recommend this place.

So charming. Located mere steps from anything you want to see in the Pelourinho (historic aka postcard neighborhood). The staff was very communicative the moment we booked our hotel on a third party site. Cans and Ubers are not allowed to go straight to the hotel so we booked transportation from the airport with the hotel. First time I ever had made name on a placard as I arrived at the airport. The car was very nice, an SUV of some type that dropped us at the front door. Ubers and cabs are allowed to drop off nearby but cobblestone streets can be difficult to navigate with luggage. The lobby is very simple but oozes charm. Checkin was a breeze with us already doing so via email. We liked walking up and down the stairs but some may not and there's no elevator. Room 3 on the scene floor was very spacious! The bed was almost the size of 2 king beds pushed together. A/C was very cold and to our liking. Wood floor were worn but vey clean. The bathroom was the size of the 2 hotels we stayed at in Rio combined. The shower was lager with 4, yes 4!!!!, different shower heads. Handheld. Vertical, waterfall and rainfall big enough to rinse a baby elephant. The pool was small but nice with great views, the same great view from our balcony. We came in contact with many different staff members throughout our stay and they were all amazing. If it had one downside, one single bottle of water per stay.

5 estrelas! This may have been one of the most lovely hotels at which I've ever had the pleasure of lying my tired head. Because I know some broken Spanish, which sounds vaguely similar to Portugese I decided to go ahead and give that a try. Thiago, my Brazilian fling (as well as many others) told me that this was a wasted effort, as more Brazilians understand English than they do Spanish and I was making it more difficult on both parties. But I couldn't help trying anyhow. But estrella is estrela, so CLOSE ENOUGH. ".....Tall and tan and young and lovely The girl from Ipanema goes walking And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah When she walks, she's like a samba That swings so cool and sways so gentle That when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah..." We did indeed come from a visit to Ipanema to visit a much smaller, more quintessential town called Salvador. But the visit to Salvador is just as soothing and pleasant and sweet and halcyon as this song..... A cute little spot nestled in the northern part of Brazil. My friend 'Bama (Lisa) and I met up with Becca (aka Zella) and we stayed at a very cute hotel called Casa Amarelindo. HIGHLY recommend this place. A beautiful roof-top deck with a piscina (pool) and beautiful gardens with cheerful little hummingbirds who happily flounced among the foliage. Here you can take your breakfast, where the very sweet hotel staff provided fresh guava and papaya and some sort of ham and egg dish, as well as cafe' con leche. (For the record, I like my coffee black, but for some reason in South America, I like it with leche.) It really is breath-taking. I am trying to figure out when I'm going to use my travel bennies to go back again.

I'm a few years late writing this review, but this place has always stuck out in my mind as magical! My husband and I visited in December 2014 and had a lovely vacation. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. The rooftop infinity pool overlook the harbor is a special treat. Sitting in the pool with a fresh fruit caipirinha handmade by the bartenders and watching the cruise ships come in is one of my all-time favorite memories. Bartenders are wonderful and cut fresh fruit to make your drinks -- time consuming, but worth it! Location in the old town could not be better. Don't skip breakfast -- it's about 1,000 plates of delicious breads, cheeses, meats, fruits, juices, teas, and coffees. Thanks for a wonderful trip!
