This charming small boutique hotel is an absolute treasure. Delightfully run by helpful and friendly people who bend over backwards to welcome you. A lovely breakfast is available in the morning. Room was a decent size with a king bed and small balcony. The downstairs has sitting area with books and Knick knacks. Finally, location could not have been better. Everything is walkable. It really is perfect.

Highly recommend this boutique hotel. Madalena and Joana were so welcoming and made our stay comfortable. They gave great recommendations and were available all day for questions. The interior was high end design and classy and the rooms were very cozy. Enjoyed the port wine each day in the library and the breakfast was delicious every morning. Great outdoor space for relaxing away from city when weather is nice. The location was perfect as my wife and I walked everywhere in Lisbon- never needed an uber. If we make it back to Lisbon, we’ll be staying here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa do Barao and highly recommend it for service, location, and European charm to those looking for a small hotel with a homey feel. We loved the setting and all the special touches. Breakfast was amazing and we appreciated access to refreshments and beautiful common spaces throughout the day. The location in the Barrio Alto was perfect for us with ready access to shops, restaurants, cafes, transportation, trolley, etc. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful with sightseeing information. The lovely woman that orchestrates breakfast is amazing, pleasantly attending to everyone's needs while quietly keeping the kitchen and dining room moving! The cakes and sweets were delicious and the breakfast selection was fresh and extensive. The breakfast garden and pool are a welcome and quiet respite from the busy city streets - a true gift! This hotel is a gem for those that like a European small hotel experience with an artsy and homey feel.

Amazing place to use as a headquarters in Lisbon. Close to the busy areas but not right in the middle. Easy (but lots of hills in Lisbon) to navigate to the different sections of town within a 20 minute walk and Metros/busses are all nearby. The staff are so nice and helpful and the breakfast service is very gracious. I used the laundry service which was great. I also used the ride service suggested and Ricardo was prompt and very nice. A Lisbon gem among the frenzy!

If you are considering staying here, just do it. This property hits all the marks. Joana and Madelena are perfect hosts and bend over backward to fulfill your requests. Breakfast service is absolutely top-notch. Those gals in the kitchen worked hard to make our first meal memorable, each day. If you are thinking about a stay in the top apartment, I highly recommend it. It is more expensive and worth every penny. The balcony is enormous, and the view is priceless. There's plenty of room to spread out - three sinks, a living room, a kitchen, two showers, and a bedroom with two closet spaces. I was considering switching our room style to save $, and I would have regretted it. This place is a gem. Hope you enjoy your stay.

We loved everything about this hotel. We spent 6 amazing nights in Lisbon and staying at Casa do Barao was one of the reasons we enjoyed that much. The hotel is conveniently located, we were able to walk to most places and our experience was beyond satisfying. Madalena and the entire team are beyond accommodating will make you feel welcome from the minute you walk in....you won't regret booking. We would give 100 stars if possible! Italo & John

Loved staying at Casa do Barão! The staff is super friendly, the location conveniently close to much of the tourist locations, and the free evening port was delicious! The included breakfast, including freshly baked breads and cakes, is superb. The sun room and garden seating is charming. The rooms are neat and attractive, but small in the typical European fashion. We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent stay at the Barons House. Very charming boutique hotel with character. Quiet and nice central location in Chiado. Got a room with balcony facing the garden. Relatively quiet for the central location and house keeping kept the room clean and tidy every day. Great living room/library downstairs to relax after sightseeing with homemade cake and the occasional port. Excellent breakfast w fresh fruit, juices, home made bread and croissants. Super helpful hosts providing recommendations on sights, itineraries and restaurants. Taverna da Rua de las flores was great ! If in doubt, book this place. We will when we come back to Lisbon.

Yelp
Had an awesome stay at Casa do Barão!! Location is perfect, room was comfy and well appointed. The breakfast was included and delicious! But the best part was having Joanna and her cousin there to answer all questions, make recommendations, and call for reservations!! Thank you for the 5 star treatment!

Yelp
Casa do Barao is an amazing family run hotel centrally located in a vibrant neighborhood in Lisbon. My partner and I stayed here for 5 days over the Christmas holiday. The rooms were quite spacious and had a lovely balcony looking out to the surrounding neighborhood. During our stay, they left us a beautiful hand-written thank you note with a small gift on Christmas day, which was really thoughtful and blew us away. Not to mention the delicious daily breakfast selection of fresh breads, meats and cheeses, pastries, and frittatas. The common areas were also very nice and homely place to drink and eat. The pool also looked amazing but, unfortuntately, we were not able to use it as the weather was not suitable. The location is perfect as well as you are close to very highly-rated, popular restaurants and local trains. Based on the location, amenities, and overall hospitality, I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a holiday stay in Lisbon.

Yelp
We just got back from spending 1 week in Lisbon, stayed at Casa do Barao. From the moment we arrived which was early morning until the day we left the service and attention by the staff was fantastic. This hotel is newly renovated, the rooms are extremely well designed, bed is super comfortable, the sheets felt luxurious. Rooms are cleaned daily and the staff do a great job. Breakfast is also included, we were expecting some coffee and bread but we're extremely surprised to the quality and options available for breakfast. We started our morning having a great breakfast looking out at the garden and pool. The coffee they have available is premium coffee, the bread is delicious, options of cheese, quiche, eggs, butter, jam, and various cold cuts are enough to start your day. The staff are so attentive and helpful, they provided good tips to restaurants and sites to visit. The hotel is located in the Chiado district which is centrally located to many of the historic sites. We took an Uber after our flight which was around 10 euros. If you want to take the train from the airport the stop Biaxa/Chiado is about 2 blocks from the hotel. We walked basically everywhere, averaged around 15-18k daily steps. If you want to stay in a beautiful hotel with great and helpful staff, I would definitely recommend this hotel. When we go back to Lisbon later this year, we will definitely stay again at Casa do Barao.

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay in Lisbon, with great hosts at Casa do Barao. Perfect location, incredible hospitality. The owners really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to love the place as much as they obviously love it. We got recommendations for lunch and dinner, where to go, what to see and what not to bother with. Joana gave us a tip about an unassuming hole-in-the wall restaurant in Belem that turned out to have a Michelin star and some of the best food we have ever had. Great breakfast, coffee's always available, as are homemade cakes and other pastries. One of the best hotel stays we have ever had!
