Casa do Conto

We absolutely loved our 5 days in Porto staying at the Casa do Conto hotel. The staff are amazing and helped us with bookings and how to get to places in Porto. The breakfast was really good and the room was really smart, clean and spacious. We would highly recommend staying here.

Unique, comfortable, quiet and perfectly situated in lovely Porto, Casa do Conto provided a warm welcome and a desire to meet our every need. Each morning brought a very fresh, delicious breakfast hosted by a cheerful, dedicated hostess. Without pause, Casa do Conto has the kindest staff in Portugal. We recommend the accommodation to all!

Absolutely loved this hotel but it has one major flaw that should be fixed ASAP. First the good. Rooms are beautiful, spacious, unique, and very comfortable. Breakfast was delightful. My omelette was perfectly made every morning and the freshly squeezed orange juice was excellent. There is quite a bit of noise when you leave the windows open but you hear almost nothing when the windows are closed. The staff are wonderful and so accommodating. They really want to make sure you're happy and comfortable. Now for the major flaw... you cannot enter the building on your own... you must ring the bell for someone to let you in. And more than once there was no one at the front desk so I stood outside for a good 10 min waiting in the hot sun while my takeout food was getting cold. This is EXTREMELY frustrating to have to deal with. I got anxiety every time I walked back to the hotel because I had no idea how long I'd be waiting. This reason alone is enough for me to avoid this hotel in the future which is a real shame because they got so many other things right! They really should invest in providing all the guests with keys for the front door or installing some kind of access code at the entrance.

I had a wonderful stay. The service was outstanding, the room was extremely clean and very comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. It is in a quiet area of town and still near a metro and very walkable to the main sights. The staff went above and beyond in welcoming guests.

Very nicely decorated building from the reception and breakfast area to the rooms. In a quiet street, just walk through the Cedofeita area to the more tourist areas, it’s all very walkable or with uber when it rains. The room we had was comfortable and big enough for two, with a nice bed and a small but comfortable and clean bathroom, the view on the back is very nice. But what makes Casa do Conto special is the service. All the employees were super friendly and helpful and went out of their way for anything related to baggage, breakfast, sights to visit in and outside Porto, etc. This is a place where you feel that attention is paid to every detail and you feel service like in a five star hotel. Did I mention the breakfast? So many fresh foods and pastries and coffees, fruits, freshly made eggs how you like them, in a cosy room with soft music. Very highly recommended.

My wife and I have traveled extensively across Europe, and I must say the service, location, and attention to detail was exceptional. Marcia was an excellent host and really helped to complete our experience. Highly recommend!

We had a delightful stay at Casa Do Conto. Vania welcomed us with a smile late in the afternoon and each evening. Marcia was delightful each morning. Breakfast was especially delightful with a rare tree to be offered eggs along with a variety of meats, cheeses, crêpes, fresh breads, croissants, jama, fruit, fresh orange juice and fruit, and two types of coffee. Marcia also was exceedingly helpful with some of our travel arrangements and the purchase of local tickets. As you might expect with a location in the heart of Porto, the rooms were small, but very clean with plenty of good hot water, robes, and slippers. The bed and pillows were also comfortable. Would highly recommend, and would certainly stay here again

Stayed here for a full week on my first visit to Porto and Portugal. The venue is pretty unique and very cutting edge in terms of design, actually very good design as it also was a very comfortable stay with everything needed not to mention beautiful breakfasts. What made it very special though was the staff who made us so welcome from the first minute and were just the perfect hosts (and indeed ambassadors for Portugal). Our room was at the rear and was pretty quiet (the concrete interior of the building does echo a little but not to the extent of being a problem). The location is in the less touristy part of the city, but with good facilities around, and a nice walk along the Cedofeita to the river front. Highly recommended overall and excellent value given the unique experience provided.
