We stayed at Casa do Juncal for the last portion of our trip. Loved the location, the building, common areas and the garden. The building and the common areas are beautiful and well kept. The garden is small, but peaceful. If the room had one less wardobre and had a mini fridge/microwave instead, it would be perfect! A side table or a study is not enough to keep all the snacks, bevareges or appliances. The room had also minor issues on the door knob, bedroom wall and on the shower box.

Liked · Beautifully restored building in a great location.|Disliked · Air conditioning was not working. Very poor communication from the property. Check in time is misleading. Our request for early check in was confirmed, but the room was not ready on our arrival and there were no plans to do so. The coffee was not topped up during our stay so the kettle in the room was useless. The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The garden was unusable during our stay as it was being worked on. |Won’t recommend and won’t be back.

This s a long overdue but heartfelt review of a place of character and grace. The staff could not have been more accommodating: We had difficulty finding our way because the GPS on our rented motorcycle failed us. I can't be sure if it was Yolanda and Rita (and a gentleman whose name I don't remember) who met us in town and accompanied us to the hotel, but we were grateful and touched by how everyone extended themselves. Our downstairs living quarters overlooked a sweet square, breakfast was delicious, and right next door is an adorable cafe with a charming proprietress. Guimaraes is a worthy stop and Casa do Juncal is very special!

We stayed 3 enjoyable nights in the friendly, hospitable Casa do Juncal on our first visit to the fabulous town of Guimaraes. This is a small bed/breakfast hotel with a rear garden which is an oasis of peace in the town centre. A very good breakfast is served by friendly, efficient staff.|Highly recommended!

We just loved our stay here. Fabulous large room with lounge area that looked over the courtyard and bed that was heavenly. Breakfast was fabulous and the service was just amazing. The girls are incredible. Parked our car, carried our luggage - just amazing. Parking is a few minutes away, secure and well priced. The hotel is perfectly located and lovely. There are about 10 cats in the garden so could be a problem if you are an allergy sufferer and I did inadvertently step in some unpleasant dropping but I enjoyed watching them laze around and they disappear as soon as you go into the garden.

The hotel was very charming, the breakfast very good and the rooms cleans. It was nice to rest in the garden when the weather was hot and the hotel was perfectly located in the center of the city. Too bad that the personnel was not often there

Lovely boutique hotel in the old town centre. Comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast. The bedroom we stayed in was in 2 levels so going to the bed level needed to use the stairs which were quite steep but added a bit of caracter! The only negative point for me was the garden which was infested with cat poo and you could smell it as soon as you walked out the garden door.

We stayed, along with friends, at Casa so Juncal in early Oct (2021). Everything was fantastic, starting with the warm personal greeting by Daniela (the owner). Superbly restored old house, on edge of historic district. Staff was super friendly, helpful and kind. The breakfast was superb ! Highly recommend.
