I stayed two nights at this hotel and I do not recommend it. Most of the rooms are very small and dark, located below street level, and the heat is very strong (September). In addition, there is a strong sewage smell all day long. The noise from the pipes is constant throughout the day, and the voices and street noise are very loud. The beds are not comfortable and the equipment is poor. Breakfast costs an extra 7 euros and I found it to be from poor to just acceptable. I understand that Óbidos can be a bit more expensive than other cities in Portugal, but the value for money at this place did not seem right to me. Look for other places.

A great little hotel right by the fortress wall. We were able to find parking on the street, but be advised: only small/compact cars can drive and park in that area. Our room was very clean, the staff was very courteous, and the breakfast was very good. Four stars due to the fact that we reserved a double bed and got two twins and the bathroom had a bit of a sewer odor. They explained that during this time of the year, the smell is normal... All in all, a picturesque little hotel worth the price.

Great place. 6 points out of 5. We hadn't planned to stay in this village, but it looked beautiful, and we saw a hotel on the way. We went in to ask if there was a free room. The hostess was very, very kind. There were three of us, and we had a two-room suite—spacious enough. Breakfast was good: bread, cheese, meat, fresh juice, and coffee. Parking is also available just a few minutes' walk away.

We stayed here this week. Parked on the street no problem. The friendliest informative reception upon our arrival with a welcome drink in the bar on the sun terrace roof. Our room had two large exceptionally comfortable beds and an en-suite shower. It is a very old building but immaculately clean. Ideally placed with only a one minute walk to the gate in the city walls. Lots of restaurants to choose from. A continental breakfast of bread, preserves, pastries, ham, cheese, yoghurts, granola, orange juice, t & c was served to our table the following morning. A gem of a place. Very highly recommended.

A fairly basic and rustic looking hotel good for a night. The hotel only has few rooms. The rooms are on the small side with minimal inexpensive furnishings, yet comfortable. The A/C worked very well, but not every room has it. We were in room 8. Check in was easy and the staff friendly. It has a nice terrace with a view of the surrounding area and where one can sit outside and have a drink. Parking is pretty much anyplace you can find a spot. We parked about 50 yards up the street in front of the hotel along the town wall. WiFi was adequate and didn’t drop out, but might not be great for streaming video. Breakfast was Continental and adequate, but some fresh fruit would have been nice. The breakfast room only has four tables so if you’re number 5 you need to wait for one to open up. Although the hotel could stand some renovations, by doing so some of its charm would go with them.

Super quaint guest house with great hosts. Room was clean and had all we needed. A short walk to restaurants etc. Some reviews have mentioned parking; this is a medieval town so yes, the road leading to the hotel needs some confident driving but we managed to park easily within 100 metres of the front door on repeated occasions. Recommended.

Though the staff was extremely friendly, this is a budget hotel. Emphasis on the word budget. To say the bed was uncomfortable would be a compliment. No air conditioning and you must pay in cash. Read the fine print. Parking was extremely difficult. You had to open the windows for ventilation and sleep with the flies. We were fortunate enuogh to get a dirty old fan but hey, It was either that or sweat all night. Along with that we were lucky enough to get a room on the main road and we're blessed to hear people and cars all day-and-night. Finally, breakfast was something you could have bought from a vending machine. Other than the friendly staff the patio was very nice. Would I stay there again....Absolutely not. For the record, We booked 6 to 9 months in advance so it's not like it was the last minute booking.

My girlfriend and I had an awesome overnight stay here. Our room was clean, modern and comfortable. There was no A/C as many note, but with windows open, it was fine. Tasty continental breakfast with strong coffee! Staff was welcoming and accommodating, and gave us a helpful tip for our travels.
