We booked last minute and couldn’t have been more pleased. We were only able to stay one night and hope to get back next year. Inez was so helpful and friendly! She helped us arrange a taxi for the Pena Palace and for the train|Station. They took our bags from our room to store while we were out so we could enjoy the sites before leaving that day. The views were amazing and breakfast was delicious. We walked to a great recommended restaurant and loved it! Tip, take a taxi from train station, uber is not able to get right to it, although it got close enough walk wasn’t bad. Taxis were easy and friendly.

I would like to start by saying that the staff here are wonderful, every single one of them. My problem is with the room itself. We got a small outdated room (which in itself is fine). However, the bed was super uncomfortable, I barely slept both nights we stayed here and in the morning my back hurt from how hard the bed was. Another thing was the bathroom, it is very outdated and marks of potential black mold throughout the entire bathroom. Both mornings I woke up super stuffy and then would feel okay the more time I spent outside the rest of the day then the cycle would start again. We slept with the window open to air out the room. The owners need to figure this out. You can’t have guests stay in these conditions when they’re paying decent money. Other than that, the location is great and the views are phenomenal. Lots of street parking around too. I don’t think we will stay here next time we come to Sintra.

Casa Do Valle is a magical getaway! It was one of the most beautiful, lush, and healing places I have had the good fortune to stay at. The villa is stunning, with views of the palaces, you feel like you are in a fairy tale, yet also grounded in a healing and nourishing space. I’m looking forward to returning again soon. A little heaven on earth.

14-15 May 2025|Casa do Valle, Sintra|A beautiful tranquil villa-like bed and breakfast resort situated in a lush green valley with views of mountain top ancient castles and palaces. Our hostess Phillipa was very kind and helpful recommending places to eat and visit, arranging taxi to Pena Palace, etc. Casa do Valle is located only few minutes walk from the old town centre of Sintra. Highly recommend this peaceful hotel for your stay in Sintra. Hotel offers limited on-site gated parking for small cars.|N&D - Halifax NS, Canada

Charming setting, but the place needs a facelift. We spent two amazing weeks exploring Portugal, staying in six different places – and unfortunately, Casa Do Valle was the only one that left us a little bit disappointed. It’s not a bad hotel, but it really needs a refresh. The photos on the website must have been taken quite a few years ago, because they don’t reflect today’s reality. The location is actually lovely – set on a hillside just below the historic centre of Sintra, with easy access to the main attractions. Free parking behind a gated entrance, and it’s a quiet area with birds singing in the morning. We booked the “Superior Suite with kitchenette” (room no. 11), which was smaller than we imagined. The kitchenette had a tiny fridge and limited equipment, just enough for a simple meal. The bathroom was small too, but functional. Both the room and the bathroom need some updating. On the positive side, service was very friendly. Filipa Oliveira greeted us warmly and was helpful during our stay – no complaints there! Facilities were a bit underwhelming. The outdoor pool didn’t look very inviting – kind of poorly maintained – and there were not enough sun loungers for all guests. This seems like a small fix, especially since there’s space for more. Also, it would have been nice to have a cozy shared area with tables and chairs to enjoy a drink or chat with fellow travellers. There’s no restaurant or food service on site, though you can pre-order breakfast to your room and buy drinks at the reception during staffed hours (normally 9 to 19). The Wi-Fi was okay, though the signal in our room was weak at times. In terms of value for money, we felt it didn’t quite match expectations. I’d probably stay elsewhere next time – or at least wait until Casa Do Valle has had a proper facelift. Regards Svein-Magne Tunli from Bergen, Norway

We had the pleasure of hosting our team-building event at Casa do Valle, and the experience was fantastic. The venue provided the perfect mix of tranquility, comfort, and functionality, making it an ideal setting for both work and relaxation. The “Gaiola” (glass room) was a standout feature—it offered a bright and open space, allowing for an inspiring and engaging atmosphere. The natural surroundings added to the experience, creating a peaceful environment that encouraged focus and creativity. One of the highlights was the yoga session, which was a great way to start the day. It helped the team relax and set a positive tone for the rest of the event. The lunch and coffee break were also excellent. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and perfectly suited for a corporate retreat. The service was smooth, ensuring that everything ran seamlessly. Overall, Casa do Valle met all our expectations and more. The combination of a well-designed space, great amenities, and a serene location made it an excellent choice for our event. I highly recommend it for corporate gatherings, workshops, or team-building activities.

A wonderful place and wonderful people who welcome travellers under their roof.... |Sintra and Casa do Valle is a great adventure. Very good location for people who like hiking. There is greenery everywhere, which has a positive effect on the mind and relaxes even when it rains.

We’re so glad we found this cute little oasis with a stunning view. We really enjoyed the tranquility, mystical mountains in the “backyard” and birds singing in the morning. We stayed in a standard room next to the garden which was located 2 floors down the reception. Modest amount of space in the room. Excellent service. With their prompt assistance, we were able to purchase our tickets for Pena Palace upon check-in at no extra cost. We also loved to have breakfast in our room! It was all fresh and tasty. When we arrived, we were given options to customize our breakfast and choose the time for its delivery. One little tip here, if you stay for 2+ nights and have a slight chance of getting lost in the city until late, it’d be advisable to choose your breakfast options for later dates. After a fulfilling day of hikes and exploration, we would’ve chosen to start our breakfast a bit later the next day, but it was too late to change it as the reservation was closed at 18:30. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the historic center of Sintra, the access can be a bit challenging but it’s all worth it thanks to the outstanding view and their warm hospitality. To get here, simply setting up Bolt app before your arrival should help. Hiking up and down was an experience in itself, but it was a fun walk, and for us it was not too much of an issue.

Yelp
Charming place. Low key and not right in the center. Owner and staff were awesome and friendly. Beautiful view. One note, walk to town is uphill. It might be too much elevation change for some and it is too short for Uber to take you to center. But you can go to one of the castles then Uber back or to center and walk down hill. Highly recommend and would go back. Great vibe!

Yelp
This little gem of a place is run by a fabulous Finnish/Portuguese family whose style and hospitality flow through the visitors experience! the prcing was excellent and we felt we got an amazing experience and a wonderful stay! The rooms are simple, stylish and very well maintained, with comfy beds and views to die for. With private entry we were free to come and go as we liked, even having breakfast bought to our room the night before so that there was no need to get up at some ungodly hour in order to have breakfast! Really handy!! The garden and the pool were beautiful, again with breath-taking views. The family were eager to give us good recommendations for local eatery. Really relaxed and stylish, couldn't fault it at all! the family dogs stayed out of the way but were lovely to watch and the whole time we were there we just felt so incredibly relaxed and at home.
