This hotel is amazing! My husband and I had a great time there. ||||When we booked it, we mentioned that it would be for our honeymoonon, so when we arrived in our room it was beautifully decorated with petals, and they also left us a cute note. ||||We stayed at the superior room # 7. The king size bed was very comfortable, and the shower was perfect, with good temperatures and plenty water! That's all we needed to enjoy our stay and relax. ||||The room's decoration was of good taste. The tv has plenty channels to watch, and the noise-canceling windows saved us from the outside noise of the holiday's festivities. ||||The location was convenient as we were close to the main square and to all the restaurants, banks, and stores.||||The breakfast was delicious! There was a variety of fruits, breads, freshly squeezed juices, cakes, and also ham, cheese, scrambled eggs, brazilian "salgadinhos", and a lot more. I woke-up everyday looking forward to have breakfast. ||||The staff was friendly and they were always willing to help. I met Fabricio, one of the owners, he was super friendly, and chatted with us every morning. ||||Thank you Fabricio and all the hotel staff! We felt like if we were home. We are definitely going to stay there again at another opportunity.

We took a nice air-conditioned room on the third floor overlooking a narrow lane. Good bathroom, comfortable bed and very clean. Our son and daughter-in-law had a smaller, non-A/C room on the second floor which they also liked. The breakfasts were terrific, with a variety of fresh juices, cakes and breads, and meats and cheezes. We Could, and did go almost all day on breakfast. No need or desire for lunch. There was even help-yourself Cachaça in the lobby. Nice touch.

We stayed in room # 7, two stories up (stairs only). It is totally upgraded, everything is new. The shower is awesome and big, the bathroom is huge. The room is the biggest they have. I understand other rooms may be very small, but not this one.||||Fabricio, one of the owners, is so friendly, a pleasure to talk to, always helping out with directions, tips, and restaurants. His English is very good. Did not have the chance to meet Romulo, the other owner.||||The only little detail was that the safe was loose, not bolted to the floor or wall. Perhaps this was fixed already since I did mention it to Fabricio when checking out.||||Breakfast (café da manhä) was plentiful, Brazilian style. Ouro Preto is a lovely town, well kept, with lots of history.

My partner and I stayed with Fabricio and Romulo for 2 days / 2 nights in early December. This experience was simply delightful. The space they have created - from the warm and welcoming public area to the beautifully appointed bedrooms - is just lovely. They are gracious hosts. The breakfasts served were so delicious. This is a must-stay location in Ouro Preto. Thank you Romulo and Fabricio to creating such a charming place!

I don’t have words to describe how friendly, kind and helpful Fabricio and the whole team at Pousada dos Meninos are. Actually, the people of Ouro Preto in general are one of the most friendly people that I have ever been across. And the handmade breakfast is just amazing. Can’t recommend this place enough.

My rating is always relative to the location and my expectations. In Ouro Preto, I was just looking for a clean, safe and comfortable spot to lay down when not exploring the town. To that end, this place is spot on with friendly staff. Fabrizio, specifically is great, and if you need anything, he's your 'go to' guy. They organized my transport and helped me get oriented. Breakfast was good and their recommendations for restaurants and sights were spot on.||||||Two things to consider about Ouro Preto... 1) in general the cobble stone streets make for loud tire noise when cars and motorcycles drive by so a room with sound proof windows is essential for light sleepers (like me) and 2) the town is very hilly with steep cobble stone roads and sidewalks. If you are not in the physical shape to handle this, a hotel closer to the center is probably your best best as this Pousada is near Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Conceição at the bottom of the hill. This is great when you're headed back downhill but a killer on the way up to most of the museums uphill.

My partner and I stayed here for just one night on a short visit to Ouro Preto.||The staff were super welcoming and the room was clean, comfortable and well equipped.||The room we selected was rather cosy, but had enough space for our luggage and to move around.||The breakfast included many options of a savoury and sweet variety and the quantity was perfect. ||The welcoming sign with our names was also a very nice touch.||We would definitely stay again if we return to Ouro Preto.

We stayed here in 2 different rooms, one larger and one smalle. The smaller room is quite small and hardkly space to store luggage etc.|The larger room was a bit better but also suffered space to store.||The welcome at the pousada was very friendly and a lot was explained, Ana Maria was very helpful.|Also her brother who owns the pousada is very friendly and helpful.||The pousada is located down the hill of the Ouro Preto centre. When you have some problems walking up, be aware of this.||Breakfast was good, but there is a downside. When all people want to have breakfast at the same time, this is impossible as the space is small.||Another drawback we experienced was that other guests used the micorwave to make chees popcorn. The smell was awful during the evening and the night. Ther owner aplogised, but guests should behave as well. WE complained but the frontdesk during the night does not speak english (and we don't speak portuguese).||The owners directed us to some good restaurants like Bene da Flauta, which is close.|For the rest all is within walking distance, but beware of walking up and down in this nice old city.|
