Casa Fabbrini is a beautiful property which is unfortunately tainted by inedible food and an unwelcoming hostess with a rude and aggressive attitude. Paola the owner and hostess didn’t inform us of any information regarding the property, mealtimes or checkout time, in fact she didn’t even bother to introduce herself. We were left feeling very uncomfortable and unwelcome, as if we were imposed upon them and not welcome in their home. My family and I have been visiting the Tuscan Val D’Orcia for 21 years, since I was two years old, and have never experienced an objectively bad meal until now. I’m sorry to leave a review of this nature on a small business but we approached them kindly with our criticism and were met with insults and scapegoating of the staff. Paola the hostess and owner only introduced herself as we were expressing our discontent upon departure. After waiting for paola to arrive in order to convey constructive criticism to her, she hurled insults at my mother so unkind that my mother began crying and she told my mom we didn’t like the muddy tasting greens and veal chop which was raw in the middle because we “only stay at Hilton in our country”. If the rebuttal to constructive criticism is denigration and personal, untrue attack they should not be marketing themselves as a “serious” and professional establishment. Irene, Tanya and Blessing are kind women who were blamed by the owner for things out of their control. I felt sorry for the workers when they were called in and yelled at while we were attempting to express our concerns to the owner Paola who should assume responsibility for the quality of our stay. The breakfast was worrisome as well since the milk was slightly sour and the crostatas and cakes were not fresh and had dust on them. The wine at dinner was served in a carafe, not uncommon for a house wine, but had seemingly been oxidizing for days. We understand that when staying at an agriturismo we are entering someone’s home and barking dogs at 1am and ineffective showers are at times unavoidable, however we’ve never encountered these issues at this price point. Additionally, the TV blared until the early hours of the morning. In retrospect, we should’ve done our due diligence and read the reviews which express previous clients experiences with the horrible service and food issues of this lovely property. If you plan to stay here I wish you good luck and hope you’re not hungry while on the property. After what we experienced I am not surprised that my mother and I were the only two guests during the entirety of our stay. Once again I am sorry to have to do this to a small family business but given the severity of the situation and the scale of the scam I felt it was my duty to alert other prospective clients.

We loved Casa Fabbrini Rome, but their Tuscan property was a huge disappointment. The website promises “traditional hospitality and expert chefs” — in reality, meals were cooked by summer staff with tinned ingredients. Despite telling them we don’t eat cheese or pork, we were served both. One night we were given burnt gnocchi in a tinned tomato sauce with cheese — completely inedible. Plates were simply cleared and replaced with pork for my husband (who doesn’t eat it), and ice cream for dessert even though I said I didn’t want any. Rooms were run down: leaking air conditioning, faulty showers, and hornets coming in through windows without nets. The pool was unusable due to swarms of biting flies, and the owners parked by the house while guests had to walk further in the dark with no lights. Breakfast was equally poor — stale bread, packet-mix cakes, filter coffee, and the same cherry tomatoes every day. The only positives were the dog, the cleaning staff, and the farmhouse itself (in the owners’ areas). Overall, it felt like everything was done for the owners’ comfort, not the paying guests. Not recommended.

We stayed at Casa Fabbrini’s Rome accommodation and loved it — the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. When the blond lady who manages it told us about their Tuscan property, we decided to try it. Big mistake.|The website promises “traditional hospitality embellished with modern comforts” and menus by “expert chefs Paola and Giorgio.” In reality, it was nothing like that.|Food|We stayed three nights and had dinner twice (we skipped the third after two bad experiences). Despite telling them we don’t eat cheese or pork (and most red meat as we are trying to cut it down and I told the staff), we were served both.||The first night, dinner was cooked by young summer workers with none of the “traditional” vibe. Pasta with an extremely salty, tinned-tasting tomato sauce, then soup (the only decent course), followed by flavourless rabbit, limp salad, and tinned pickled peppers. Dessert? Just vanilla ice cream with raspberry sorbet — not the promised “selection" on their website. Guests around us also left food unfinished.||The second night was even worse. We were served burnt gnocchi in a tinned tomato sauce smothered with cheese — despite reminding them we don’t eat cheese. It was inedible, and the couple next to us didn’t eat theirs either. No one asked if it was all right; plates were just cleared away and replaced with mashed potatoes, fried chicken (for me), salty courgettes, and pork for my husband — even though I had already told them he doesn’t eat pork. Dessert was again ice cream, even though I had said I didn’t want any. Staff barely spoke and avoided interaction.||Meanwhile, Giorgio, the owner, sat watching TV at full volume. During the day, he napped in the main guest lounge, making it impossible for guests to use the space. I never saw either owner cook, despite the claims on their website.||Rooms and Facilities||Our first room had leaking air conditioning (water pooling on the floor), a faulty shower that swung from scalding to freezing, and hornets coming through the open window because there were no nets. We asked to move; no concern was shown, but eventually we were given another room — slightly better but still shabby and run down. The nicest areas are clearly reserved for the owners.||The pool was unusable because of swarms of biting flies. No citronella candles, no effort made. The owners parked their cars by the house while guests had to walk further, fighting off flies and wasps. Toiletries were sachets — just two per day, not enough for more than one shower (when it would be better to just provide shower gels like most hotels and B&Bs do). There is lots of cost cuttings happening here at the expensive of the comforts of the guests. It isn't an expensive place but a little bit of concern for guests goes a long way. The driveway and parking were unlit at night, so we had to use a torch while being swarmed by insects.||Breakfast|Breakfast was terrible: stale bread, no toaster, filter coffee (in Italy!), packet-mix cakes, and the same tired cherry tomatoes every day. Their website claims olive groves — we didn’t see a single olive.||Overall|The only positives were the dog (who is very well mannered and friendly), the rustic farmhouse (though only the owners’ areas are nicely decorated), and the cleaning staff who worked hard. Everything else felt designed for the convenience of the owners, not the comfort of the paying guests.|I would not recommend staying here.

We rented the whole venue for our wedding weekend and it was absolutely magical! My friends, family, and ourselves enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the delicious food, the Tuscan sun and wonderful wine! Each day, we were greeted with a beautiful breakfast spread and the sweetest workers! Paola and Giorgio were amazing hosts; from all the preplanning of my wedding, ensuring that every thing was what I wanted and more. She was easy to communicate with and took great care of all our requests and accommodations. I cannot imagine a more perfect place to have my special day and cannot thank Paola and Giorgio enough for how wonderful our time was. Thank you for taking care of us and our loved ones.

The Air conditioner never works. They don’t care. So just know it’s gonna be hot. The hotel is beautiful. The food is great, but if you want AC don’t come. I begged for help and got zero response. They need to also let people know when breakfast is, when dinner is. Zero communication.

Words cannot describe our experience at Casa Fabbrini. It shouldn’t even be called a hotel, it’s so much more, it’s a “home”. A truly Italian experience that allows you not only to savour some of the most beautiful Tuscan countryside but also authentic Italian cuisine at it’s finest. Paola and Giorgio not only invite you into their home they also take you on a culinary journey that will leave you bragging to your friends for years. Dinner is included and wine flows freely at no extra cost making Casa Fabbrini extremely reasonably priced when you consider everything that is included. A must “experience” for your next Tuscan visit. Thank you Paolo and Giorgio for a truly unique experience, we will most certainly be back. :)

We spent a wonderful vacation here with our dog Francesco. We especially thank Alessio for his care, thoroughness and willingness to answer all our questions. We also want to thank the whole team who took care of us, cooked delicious meals and made our stay absolutely magical. We will definitely not be here for the last time and we highly recommend this place with the genius loci. Very suitable for everyone who is looking for peace and loves dogs. 🐕🫶🏻
