Overall, not bad. The staff really tries hard. Room is very clean, good value for your money. They really should add a shower curtain to the shower though. Everyday water just went everywhere; it's hard to shower properly after a day at the beach and not spray water outside of the shower stall. |The staff pays attention to your requests though, and it's not everywhere that they actually pay attention to guest requests. Restaurant food is not bad, a bit $$ I find compared to other little restaurants around. You have to order in the morning. But breakfast was amazing. Loved the omelets and crepes; it was some of the best omelets I ever had. These are cooked in front of you. Kids there seemed to love the pool. Within walking distance to the beach and to Winners supermarket. So you have everything you need there very close by. This hotel has lots of potential; they have everything including tennis courts, but it might just need to update/renovate some parts of the main building and hotel rooms (some of the bungalows and villas are new/renovated though). But the bathrooms near the restaurant, eeesh, needs renovations. Some hotel rooms would have been better if they were bigger and had more features to store your things, hang towels (not outside where anyone can snatch your stuff), shelves or a luggage stand for e.g.

We stayed a whole week in July as a family of three adults. Room was very clean, being done everyday. Breakfast at the restaurant was truly yummy and good with an excellent choice of hot and cold food, delicious omelettes, pancakes , fresh fruits and more. Staff were always welcoming and nice. There was no In-room tea coffee according to the website but since my family is tea drinkers; I asked for this option. They replied to me that in room tea service was not part of their offer. To my surprise, when we checked in our room, we were amazed to see a kettle along with tea bags and sugar on the counter. This kind of nice thought hit us with so much enjoyment ! There is also a money changer at the front desk. Sadly, regarding the shower stall, there was no curtain which used to cause a kind of disaster with water all over the floor after each one of us showered. This is quite a discomfort as we would spread the water to the other side of the room. I took out a star because of this shortcoming. As for hot water and a/c, it was not an issue as there was no interruption with hot water and a/c as well. The room offered everything a guest would look for such as a safety deposit box, a wardrobe and chairs. Hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes were not available and it was quite an inconvenience each time we used the bathroom. Lastly, I find the bare tables at the restaurant very pitiful since there was no tablecloth on each table and the cutlery was laid right on the bare tables. Some people viewed this as a lack of hygiene. The hotel was about a 10-minute walk to the public beach, with the bus stop and cafes and convenience stores nearby. Nothing to worry about if ever one needs to go buy stuff that one had forgotten to bring. Many think that the name of the hotel has no meaning and that it should reflect the tropical climate of the island and not bear a name of a state of the USA! Mauritius being part of the Mascarene Islands. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with good service and we surely recommend it to others as it is value for money. To end this review, we wish to thank Kantee and the hotel staff for their kind hospitality.

Very nice hotel. Room cosy with comfortable bed, but tea coffee not available in room. Nice environment with parking facilities. Very kind staff, each request was taken into consideration immediately. Really liked the pool. Good food but buffet not available for lunch and dinner. Gym available and complete. Overall family really liked stay!

Amazing hotel. The room was freshly renovated and we really enjoy the food though it was a bit limited in terms of entertainment and food variety. The drinks were value for money and highly recommend the staff who did their best to assist. Be mindful of the receptionist named Rajini she is allergic to mauritian but otherwise great stay.

Stayed here for a week in march. We appeared to be the only British staying there the odd German but mainly French speakers possibly from the island or reunion We arrived early and didn't have to wait to get to our room. We stayed in a first floor studio apartment in the blocks that only had ground and first. The balcony was big enough with two chairs and a table although the air con unit was also there and quite noisy. We just turned it off and left the ceiling fan on inside if we sat in the balcony. It faced the gardens towards the carpark but still a lovely view. The room was a little dated but still good enough for us. I know some of the other rooms have been renovated so maybe these will be soon. Bed hard but I prefer a hard bed. The kitchen area was equipped with a microwave. Fullsize fridge freezer oven top stove and all the items you would need for basic cooking. Didn't find a bottle open though so bought a cheap one from winners. The one thing that let the room down was the shower as for some reason the cold tap only dribbles out but the hot was fine so it got hot quick so long showers were virtually impossible. Our room was also right behind the bar and listening to the karaoke while on our balcony was so funny as we've never heard some of our well known songs sang in French but the noise stops around 10.30 and it's peaceful after then Kanti the manager is a wonderful lady who went out of her way to help anyway she can The staff seem friendly and most of them are always smiling. The bar staff sometimes were a little slow one night we waited over 20 minutes stood at the bar for one rum and one cocktail but we got our drinks eventually and the drinks were good. I think the problem was large groups expected table service so it took a while to service these tables when they had only two staff and everyone wanted cocktails. Maybe table service should only be available when there is more staff to serve The pool is lovely but not enough sun lounges and tables especially on an evening if you want to sit outside. They have day passes so lots of large groups of families use the facilities so it gets loud with children enjoying themselves. We enjoyed watching the families having fun but I can imagine if you wanted to stay in the hotel all day it would be a little over the top. Breakfast was basic but did the job. Juice coffee or tea with pastries fruit yogurt bread and a small selection of local cakes. Hot food was limited to chicken sausage some days with occasional beans or sauted veg also the omelette station and the pancake station cooked fresh and they add what you want in them. The omelette I had was lovely. Special mention to the lady who runs the spa. She made us welcome and explained everything to my husband as he doesn't really like spas but he was glad he went as we got an after sun treatment and I had a facial. The spa is super cheap compared to every other I have been to around the world and very good. The hotel is also very good as a base as it's over the road from the supermarket and 5 minutes to pereybere beach Overall I would say we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it especially if you plan on going out most days and just want to find a hotel that's a good budget and has all the basics you need.

I had a full day at Casa florida. The employees are very welcoming and the services they provide are exceptional. It is a 3 star hotel but the extra efforts the staff make to make the customers satisfied and happy are really amazing. I recommend it especially for families.
