This was the absolute best way to end our time in Milan. They were very accommodating to some special needs that we had, chose a fabulous wine for us and were gracious in every way possible. The food was amazing too. This came recommended to me and I highly recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I found this little gem of a restaurant on our one night stay in Milan, and this place made the stay even more special for us. From the time we entered without a reservation, they aimed to make sure we had a great experience. Our meals were fantastic and the service was just as good. If we are ever fortunate enough to return to Milan, we will surely make this place a priority to return to.

After 3 days in Milan I have to conclude that Italian food is the most overrated food in the world. The people who find this food tasty have simple pallets. When you've eaten authentic Asian food, Italian food is bland in comparison. The risotto was okay, but I make better rice. The apple dessert was disgusting and was soaked in alcohol, which isn't stated in the menu. The cannoli wasn't very nice, the panna cotta was okay, though not really different from the panacotta sold in supermarkets. Avoid.

We ordered the risotto with tomatoes, saffron and mushrooms (all Antica) and the pistachio pana cotta. The risotto was delicious and the best we had in Italy so far. The panna cotta was also tasty. This restaurant is cute and great for any occasion.

amazing food, service and ambiance. homey, local, you can feel a little secrecy in being there. excellent wine choices. the main/head chef/owner came to our table to greet us and even take our order. they called a cab for us in the end. beyond excellent experience.

Had a great meal and enjoyed the hospitality here with my dad.
The Chef gave recommendations of his favorite items and all of the dishes that came were beautiful. We had 2 antipasti, risotto to share and a bottle of vino della casa.
Read previous reviews that the items were pricer than competition. We understood why when we arrived, they have a Michelin recommendation for 2023.
Yet with this accolade, they remain modest and personable. The combination of everything above is the perfect recipe for the great dining experience.
Ps. They gave us their risotto recipes at the end

Really nice dinner! 😊 the risotto was very tasty and the service amazing! If u can't have gluten or lactose just tell the waiter: they'll bring gluten free bread and use lactose free butter in the risotto! I definitely would recommend it (but remember to reserve a table!)

I first visited to this Gem in 1986 with friends and colleagues @Enrico Grassi and @Francesco Izzo. I hadn't realised the religion with which the milanese revere their rice dishes until moving here. Having moved away in the nineties 15 years later I took my wife and kids. Today 36 years later back again and Casa Fontana is the place for risotto...Still the intimate little place it was back then, top service, quality and just too much a difficult choice.
The rule is you have to chose in pairs...they do that to keep the slow food authenticity (25min fully from placing your order).
Not to worry, the antipasti are great too.
23 Risotti, Casa Fontana if you want to discover Risotto you should experience it!
