We enjoyed our stay, our hosts were lovely - attentive, helpful and carrying. The property is well maintained and taking care of. I, personally, loved the design and interior decoration. Team pays attention to the details. Our breakfast time was a special experience - firstly, every day there is different breakfast items but also, you get to interact with local habitants - cute little monkey that coming over to join you for breakfast as well :) The quality of bed is very good, allows you to rest well and recover after long city walks.

We loved Casa Genario. The setting is superb - on the Main Street up to Santa Teresa and an easy 10 min walk down to the bars of Lapa. And in the most exquisite setting - the climb up from the road (they’ll help with your bags) means that you have the most incredible view out from the hotel pool and breakfast area - literally you can see out over central Rio whilst floating in the pool. It is incredible.||And this isn’t even what we loved the most. Everything here is done with huge care and attention to detail. The owners and staff truly care whether you are having a good stay, and are lovely people. From thoughtful details like the beauty of breakfast (a work of art and different every day) to happily chatting about the wildlife you see from the pool or plans for the day, we simply could not have been better looked after. ||The nature in the middle of the city is incredible too. We saw swallows, parakeets, a hummingbird, monkeys, a possum, bats at dusk, all from beside the pool. Not to mention countless butterflies. Truly gorgeous.||Casa Genario is true oasis in the middle of my new favourite city in the world. I hope I am lucky enough to be able to return.

Our stay at Casa Geranio was absolutely exceptional. We stayed in the Carioca Suite, which was stunning and impeccably clean. The incredible view and the private pool made the experience truly special.||The breakfasts were outstanding, with a different offering each day made from high-quality, fresh ingredients. We enjoyed several courses, all homemade and utterly delicious. It was a highlight of our mornings.||The staff were amazing—friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The owner is a delight and clearly passionate about his hotel and the level of service he provides. He also gave us excellent recommendations that really enhanced our trip.||The hotel and room were incredibly quiet, making it feel like a peaceful sanctuary tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It was the perfect retreat after a busy day of exploring.||We stayed here during the first leg of our honeymoon, and it was the most perfect way to begin our trip. If we ever return to Rio, we will certainly stay here again!

Great stay at Casa Geranio. Boutique hotel in a historic house, refurbished exquisitely with great eye for details. The infinity pool overviews downtown Rio which makes it a perfect spot to chill down from visiting the city. Claudio, the owner, is a great host and very knowledgeable of the local hot spots worth visiting / trying

Casa Geranio is by far one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at so far! Not only is it an incredibly beautiful oasis right in the middle of the busy city of Rio de Janeiro, but also the owners are extremely sweet and forthcoming, so we felt very much at home away from home. |The rooms are comfortable, clean and stylish. The pool is beautiful and invites for a dip on a sunny day. But the real highlight is the delicious breakfast with fresh smoothies, homemade cake, eggs und fresh fruit. I would recommend this charming place to anyone (preferably slightly younger people as there are many stairs) travelling to Rio.

This beautiful hotel is an oasis of peace and tranquillity amid the hustle and bustle of Rio's Theresa district. While the hotel is chic and stylish, so much though has been given to the comfort of the guests, with thoughtful touches everywhere. Staying here was so magical, I just wish I could have stayed longer. I will just have to make do memories of the incredible breakfasts, lolling by the pool and the cheeky family of marmosets who seem to be the hotel's most demanding guests!

Fantastic boutique hotel in the Santa Teresa district of Río de Janeiro. Gabriel and Claudio (hotel owners) and the rest of the staff made us very welcome for the week . The breakfasts were different every morning and extremely tasteful and yummy too .The bedroom in main building was colonial old style and nice. Highly recommend Casa Geranio for a vacation in Río De Janeiro .

This unique and stylish boutique hotel will not disappoint. The attention to detail offered by Claudio and Gabriel in all aspects of the design, service and atmosphere at Casa Geranio is absolutely perfect. The breakfast is sublime, served on the terrace (new plans afoot to create an even more breathtaking breakfast area next to the pool). Even the crockery, which changes daily, along with the breakfast menu, is stunningly beautiful. Fresh juice smoothies, fruit platter, cold cuts, freshly baked cake and variety of eggs are all presented with precision and care that delights the eye and the tastebuds. What better way to set you up for a busy day exploring the city - or lounging by the pool.
