7 Must-Try Sandwiches for Your Next Trip to Portugal

"A Porto spot credited as the origin of the sandes de pernil: slow-roasted, shredded pork shoulder piled high with cheese inside a flavorful roll; its multiple locations make it easy to sample this emblematic northern pork sandwich without a long wait." - Stacey Leasca

A lovely place we stumbled upon by chance! It’s a spacious restaurant with a fantastic rooftop area. The staff are incredibly friendly, and there’s a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The food itself was absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I came across this restaurant from a YouTube suggestion and was so happy I visited. My husband and I sat at the rooftop for lunch in May and absolutely enjoyed our meals. He was particularly excited about his Francesinha and was even offered additional sauce which he happily accepted 😁. The atmosphere was also quite enjoyable as the top level is open-air and the weather was nice that day. Service was great. We definitely recommend this spot for a wonderful Porto experience! Our space at our table felt a bit tight but we managed fine.

It is for sure a hidden gem in Porto! Menu has a great variety of dishes and drinks. There's plenty of tables in the restaurant, but making a reservation is better. Service is quick and attentive. Food portions are just perfect and not pricey. All of the dishes we ordered were super good and tasty. Definitely recommended!

I discovered this place for lunch and was promptly seated on the rooftop, which had a lovely ambiance. The shrimp tower featured eight whole shrimp, which were quite tasty, generously coated in garlic sauce. The pork cracklings were excellent—salty and crunchy, truly delicious! Don’t overlook the duck rice; it was moist and incredibly flavorful. The drinks were decent, but the food stole the show.

It was our first lunch in Porto and couldn’t be more satisfied because we tried all the specialties which were delicious! 🥰 I would strongly recommend ordering the toasted pork-leg sandwich with sheep cheese and onions soaked up in port wine 🥪 The flavours were just insane and everything was prepared fresh. And also make sure to try out the Porto-style hot-dog known as cachorrinho - we went for the special one and it was served in a spicy Franceshina sauce 🌭 Ordered fries to mop up all that sauce and it was delicious!!! (that’s what the locals apparently do lol) 🍟 The staff was super nice too and they showed us the rooftop so if you fancy a drink on a hot day there’s no better place to find!

We tried patatas bravas, burritos, francesinha, duck rice and chicken. To be honest, the food didn't appeal to us, it looked high quality and elegant but it didn't taste like us. But the place is very high quality and stylish. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Visited twice during our 3 day stay. The pork cheese & onion roll on Day 1 was superb. Day 2 we had tacos, fries with eggs & bacon, both really good. The pork here is worth the visit & the service was great, Bittencourt looked after us day 2 & was spot on 👊 great vibe on the roof terrace & pretty cheap too.

Popped in on a Sunday afternoon and dined in the rooftop bar. Lovely atmosphere, music and food was great. Only four stars as two dishes didn’t arrive but were on our bill. Would recommend a visit when in Porto.
