Disappointing Stay – Misleading Photos & Poor Room Conditions We booked this hotel based on the beautiful photos posted on Booking.com, but unfortunately, the reality was far from what was advertised. I can’t speak for all rooms, but the one we stayed in was well below even the bare minimum standards. The bed was noisy and in poor condition (photos attached), and the overall maintenance of the room was very disappointing. The walls and doors offer no soundproofing whatsoever—we could hear conversations from neighboring rooms, which made it very difficult to rest, especially while traveling with a toddler. Breakfast was another major letdown. The offering was limited to white bread toast, a few mini fully dried omelette pieces, a croissant, and coffee. That’s it. It’s not buffet-style, and you’re served just once unless you specifically ask for more—which you likely won’t, after tasting it. It felt more like a formality than a genuine breakfast service. Either improve the breakfast or stop advertising it as a selling point—right now, it feels misleading. On a positive note, the location is decent, and the ladies at the reception and breakfast counter were polite and did their best within the constraints they had. No complaints about their professionalism. To the hotel management: Would you honestly feel comfortable staying in a room like this while on holiday? Serious attention is needed in terms of room maintenance, cleanliness, soundproofing, and especially breakfast quality. Our experience, especially while traveling with a young child, was not pleasant, and we would not recommend this hotel to others in its current state.

Very disappointing stay. Location is okay, maintenance staff was sweet. Reasons for 1 star:|1) No sound proofing you hear people in the hallway as if they were in your room|2) A/C sound is SO loud |3) Room not cleaned properly we found food on the floor next to the fridge|4) Breakfast is very low quality (white bread with spreads, a stale croissant, pre-packaged super sweet flavored yoghurt, and cake)|5) Strange host who claimed not to have received our request for a late check in, and we were stranded in Rome in the middle of the night trying to find another hotel.|The host came across as patronizing and disrespectful, where we would have a expected at the very least a decent host to just say "hey folks, really sorry you had to go through this, here is a refund for the first night". Instead we received a long email of why they believe they did nothing wrong.||My advice? Look somewhere else.

We spent 4 amazing days in Rome and this guest house made the experience just perfect. It is outside the ztl, great for those coming by car, but in a radius of 1km you will have Colosseo, Trevi, Termini station and many other touristic points by walk. Rooms always very clean, air conditioning working amazing, breakfast included and really friendly employees. I was with a 2 years old, they have free cots. I loved everything and I would go back.

One of the worst “hotels” I’ve ever stayed in and to be honest, it’s not even a real hotel. It has nothing to do with the pictures shown online. My husband and I were extremely disappointed 🤦🏻‍♀️ First of all, the room was tiny, poorly ventilated, and of course, no sunlight came in. The view was of the back of other buildings, so the room smelled musty and unpleasant. We ended up coughing and sneezing all night due to the dampness 😅 there was visible moisture all around the room! The headboard was dirty, with visible marks where people had rested their heads, one side of the curtain was broken and had clearly not been repaired, which made it even harder to block the outside light or have any privacy. The whole establishment was so small and poorly insulated that we could hear every step and voice from people walking past our room. In the morning, the breakfast was well below our expectations. It’s not the most important thing for us, but it’s worth mentioning. It was served in a tiny backyard that looked nothing like the pictures. I’m really sorry I had such a bad experience in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Our room was small, but cozy. Everything worked. Furniture unique and not corporate. Staff very nice and accommodating. Breakfast very good. The location is perfect as it is very close to many monuments such as the forum. Vatican is 4km away. I will come here again.

This was great! Very accommodating and kind. The breakfast was so good, the room was always cleaned and cool. The location is amazing. They let us keep our luggage there and check in later, and their shuttle was very affordable from the airport. Would definitely recommend!

We spent a long weekend here and apart from very good location and the fact the place was clean enough, there are no other positives. The room we stayed in was certainly nothing like the rooms we saw online when booking this place; bed was comfortable and the air con was ok, but apart from that, the room was quite dark, run down and just felt tired and in need of some TLC. The breakfast was served in the garden which was lovely enough, but do not be fooled by the photos, as it is certainly not a buffet. Coffee is basic and the first day we were given more food than the next day (bits of bread with either some salami/ham cheese/half a slice of a cherry tomato and bits of a sponge cake and a croissant). We asked for some help with a taxi booking to go to the airport (it is written on the notice on their wall they can help with that), but when we asked, the answer was this is not possible as 'it is a problem to get a taxi in Rome'. Just a heads up regarding this taxi business, make sure you have a solid booking in place for your transfer as our Uber cancelled at a last minute, which left us in huge trouble at 4am in the morning finding a taxi to get to the airport. Not worth the money, for sure, but the accommodation is Rome seems to be extortionate, so it is what it is, I suppose.

We stayed for a weekend break at Casa In Monti and had a wonderful stay. The room was nice and clean and came with fresh towels, toiletries, hair dryer and tea/coffee. ||||The staff are lovely and welcoming and speak good English. We payed a little extra to have breakfast and it was such a good bargain. The breakfast is made up of sweet/savoury food and it was all very nice. the breakfast bar is suited on a roof top, was a bit cold to sit outside in the winter but I can imagine in the summer with all the flowers it be lovely. There is plenty of tables inside to use. ||||All the decor is suited to the city and is not modern in the slightest which gives it a very authentic Italian vibe. ||||There’s a tv in the room and TOP CRIME is the only English Channel if you’re like me and like to have some background noise. ||||The colosume is only a 15 minute walk away aswell as the Roman forum. The Vatican City is an hours walk away but there’s so many sights to see on the way that makes it worth it. The train station is only 15mins away. ||||Food is pretty expensive in rome which is why we loved the option of having breakfast at the hotel. But they are recovering from covid so we didn’t see much of an issue. ||||||We booked all our tours through Viator and they do blue light discount. ||||||Would highly recommend staying at casa in Monti.
